Sitting here with a swollen broken foot. This is just mind blowing to me that these complicated processes are taking place in my damned foot that I have no knowledge of. These different living cells are working doing their own separate but equally important jobs so my bone is fixed and I can walk again. This stuff was boring to me in school, but its so interesting and mind boggling to me now.

Ankle fracture here so I kinda know how you feel. Had to get surgery done to get the bones to stay in the right place. Used to swell pretty bad constantly when I first got it fractured. They had to reset it twice & fix it with two titanium plates & a 6 inch screw. It proabably could have healed on its own but they tell me it would have been unstable.

Its crucial that you spend your time in a horizontal position to heal your foot. Its difficult for the blood in your foot to travel back to your heart. If you're standing OR sitting, the blood is not returning to your vital organs (heart, kidney, liver, spleen) therefore your healing is now being postponed until you lie down.
Most people are hard headed and don't follow their doctors orders. Lie down totally! For 6 weeks and I guarantee you will heal. And don't over eat, that's not helpful either. Drink some fresh carrot juice; this will help 😊

To think that all of this happens within our bodies and our numerous cells is honestly a testament to how remarkable life is in recovering itself on its own. Finding wonder in even the simplest things in life like this is why I love learning about medical history and biology in general.

How about if there is not a fracture? I imagine almost the same science applies. Martial arts competitors who break boards get big hands and the ones who kick bamboo with their shins to dull the pain and strengthen the bone seem to build bone by way of impact, but enough impact to actually break bone. Does that mean if we have thinning bones in areas, we can build them up and stronger in a controlled fashion using with minor impact exercises?

You have to go see a doctor in a hospital bc I broke my foot 6 weeks ago and I had surgery straight away. They put metal rods in place and in 1 week they are gonna remove it. This means that your foot has separated and needs to be put back in place. Go see a doctor ☺️

Hello Sir, i had an small accident and 5th metacarpal was fractured, and it's just in position, doctor said, no need for k-wire , just split is enough for 6weeks. 2weeks back split is removed, now 2months completed, but fracture line still visible, how long it will take to go off fractured line on x-ray, and I'm afraid of do physiotherapy, because when I'm doing physiotherapy some pain on fracture site. Give me some suggestions, please, thanks in advance....

Hey man. I broke my collarbone in the middle and they’re overlapping each other. How do u think they’ll heal. I broke a week ago and the pain is down by a lot like I can now move it a little and do some tasks with it but it’s nowhere near 100%. Just a week has passed so I’m not expecting a lot anyways but I wanted to hear ur opinion about it
