why are people so against fire extinguishers? or has everyone just forgotten they exist? fair enough if you dont use them on tank destroyers but why not use them on a tank like this 780 if its such a problem?
don't use fire extinguisher for this tank you so often get lit on fire 2 times in a row and you burn to ashes use the improved configuration sadly it's the only really save option
Because people don't notice something working in the background, only what they can see direct results from. Food boosts everything all the time, whereas a Fire Extinguisher is only mitigating one thing. But the problem is people think it only comes into play when it puts out a fire, they forget the premium one comes with a permanent reduction to fire chance. Which means it's working for you even when you don't catch on fire. Plus, people seem to be really hardcore about using food since there's been an obsession recently with three-marking every single tank you own.
Rarely does the engine take fire in this game (back in the old days, german tanks would take lots of engine fires, but it doesn't happen so often anymore). Most of the time you're getting lit because of the fuel tanks getting destroyed. You can see this in the montage at the beginning of the video: the fuel tanks are always damaged when the tank is catching fire. This means that any skill that reduces the chance of engine fire (preventative maintenance and the bonus from the fire extinguisher mostly) is useless in this case. The reason why modified configuration works, is because it has an additional effect (you no longer get fires from fuel tanks). Interestingly enough, you can still get engine fires with modified configuration, though the chances, that are already low, are even more lowered. Because of this, it's impossible to know if a tank would catch fire easily on the paper, as the advantage of having an engine taking less often fire is most of the time negligible. (It only makes sense if the engine gets constantly destroyed, but you can't know that on paper either).
some tanks have lower module health, like chinese tanks for example. or tanks with engines in the front and poor armor benefit from engine fire chance buffs.
@@killertruth186 that is because wargamming made a distinction between the transmission and the actual engine. Most engine knockouts on germans are actually the transmission, not the engine itself, therefore the fire chance doesn’t apply
@@Bagheera2 The Japanese mediums (tier 8 and 9) have almost no module health. They are ridiculous to play, because every single hit you take either knocks out a crewman or a module, or both.

I enjoy playing the tank but I’ve noticed it lowrolls nearly all of its shots, and against tier 10s it feels like a tier 9. The gun accuracy and feel is great though!
That assembly shop could allow the player to trade some tanks "for parts" along with the gold/plans/free XP or whatever he wanted to give to complete the build. Having some missions to complete in order to get it would defeat the purpose, Dez! It would blur the line between the shop and the campaigns/battle pass/regular grind for X tank events.

I don't play this game anymore, but I'd say it could be played similarly to leopard 1, in my opinion, if you boost gun handling to the max, it can hit pretty well based on it's stats(even from long distances) .. and bonus is on bigger distances, you have more chance that your armor bounces few more shots. So basically 2nd line sniper/ lane holder.

I'm using a rammer and improved hardening. I'll probably stick grousers on it for the third slot, but haven't decided yet. Turbo is unnecessary because it's already pretty mobile. Last I checked (two days ago) there were still 7,000 tanks left for sale on NA, which means they aren't going to sell out. They had 27,000 tanks available and there are maybe 30,000 active NA players.
The NA server sold out within the first couple hours. I forgot about the event and checked around 9am when they became available at 6am and they were already sold out.
I assume you mean the numbered tanks sold out? Because there are 6,587 standard configuration Obj. 780 tanks still available on the NA server as I type this comment.
@@shorty1861 The numbered ones didn't sell out as fast as he said either. There were still some left at 3pm that afternoon. It took almost the entire first day for them to sell the first 7,000 tanks.
I don't think Preventative Maintenance is worth on this tank since it only reduces the risk of engine fires and this tank gets set on fire from the fuel tanks.
Preventive maintenance works only for engine fire so i heard. It does in fact take fire easily but i play it like a 277 so i hide my frontal just try to expose turret. Also more of a support tank than a break through. Tank os ok just not op and thats good

You do get the occasional OP player that does really well, but for the vast majority....not so much. I'm glad it is a balanced tank and not something OP, but it is just way too expensive. If you take into account all the resources and equate that to time and money spent, this tank was $150+ bucks...thats just nuts.

Love the tank and I’m happy that I got it for my self. I use improved rotation, gun rammer, modified config and nem crew. I can work with this setup. DEZ love your Channel keep up the good content.
Yeah I am having buyers remorse on this tank. Bonds, free xp, gold I wish I had never spent to be honest. To be honest Dez did a video before where it was up against that 279e and didnt do well (not that many tanks do well of course) and should of known better.
I like the ability in this event to use any of your resources to purchase the tank. During BM I had many friends that prayed for Gold offers, as that was the one currency they had in bulk, and could only watch Credit auctions pass by. Myself, I'd love to purchase something so useless and redundant like 113 Beijing Opera even for a steeper price, but since that auction was limited to Gold (scarcely available to earn for free), it locked me out from participating. Assembly Shop takes some care of it. However, the conversion rates can just as well make similar offers turn out disadvantageous. That being said, instead of spending ALL of one type of currency, in Assembly Shop I ended up spending A LOT of multiple resources, making it the next priciest tank in my garage, beating T-22 sr. Thankfully, you could check and plan your spending the day before, but this was not a tank auction! Tier X reward vehicles are priced around 22 500 Gold/15 000 Bonds/25 000 000 Credits. Chieftain in the Campaign auction was available for less than 40 000 Bonds. How come Obj. 780 with a set price(!) was evaluated higher? It was an offer only for the wealthiest die-hard tank collectors. Luckily, that vehicle is average and not overpowered. My biggest issue with the whole event was the release schedule. One thing, the CCs could not review the tank early - that made some regular players fight to purchase it, even if it's of little value to them and immensely overpriced at that. Secondly, offer started at 7:00 CEST, right when the servers are started for the day. With addition of micropatch to include all of the Assembly Shop. There was no world premiere across all regions, the bloody thing could start at later hour. East coast US had to wake at 3 AM for this! Let everyone load the patch, log in etc. Or at least release the micropatch day earlier. The event was officially spoiled the day before, there was no reason to keep it unavailable to the last hour (unless the code was written in 15 minutes and didn't support scheduling anything). The amount of vehicles for sale was huge. At least everyone obsessed with this tank had more than a chance to get it. Tbh, the skins also lasted for quite long (propably more due to the logging issues). Unlike with Black Market, if you wanted the tank, you'd have to mess up REALLY bad to miss out on it. As for the numbered 3D Style: people compare this to some NFT situation without actual monetary value, but to me it's a nice way to distinguish the sweatiest collectors out there, without the need to limit the quantity of tanks or release extra variant of the vehicle (like golden/skinned by default version). The only thing that should matter when purchasing this should be the vehicle itself and the supply allowed to take a (relatively) slower approach to it. Myself, I got unlucky with the 3D skin. The Polish news channel on WoT Official Discord skipped the one memo about the micropatch. I was booting the game in such a hurry, switching to the best ISP, that I managed to run the client without Gamecenter detecting the update. At 7:02, after waiting the EU1 queue, I got the request to patch the game. Eventually, got the 16 000th-ish copy.
I really like this tank and didn’t spend one penny getting it just resources that I can’t really use anymore or is easily replaceable. I run modified configuration and have not been set on fire one time yet.

@7:32 .....its always been in the game...gun is always pointed at the ground. .it's in war gamings programing, always has been always will be.
Preventative maintenance only prevents engine fires. This get fuel tank fires. Also Firefighting skill reduces burn time.
Pluse i dont think preventative maintenence prevents fuel tank fires. Only engine fires. those are different sources.
Opinion about event ?
There was any event ?
Didn't saw one
On NA server on 2/27/2022 at 11:45 am EST there are still 5962 vehicles remaining... COSTS TOOOOOO DAMN MUCH!!!!!
I have more fun when I see 780s on the other side. I don't have the tank. Would groussers be better than a turbo?
The best feature of obj 780 is that i didn't waste my resources to get one
I full health ammo racked a 780 within the first 45 seconds of battle last night with my E3. Poor fella. 🤣
I don't think Preventative Maintenance is worth on this tank since it only reduces the risk of engine fires and this tank gets set on fire from the fuel tanks.
Feels like another t59 amazing when matched vs lower tiers, but falls off kinda hard
The real question isn't if it was a good or bad tank, but if It was worth the price tag some people paid. Mostly, It wasn't
Preventive maintenance works only for engine fire so i heard.
It does in fact take fire easily but i play it like a 277 so i hide my frontal just try to expose turret. Also more of a support tank than a break through.
Tank os ok just not op and thats good
Man, they weren't kidding about using Modified Configuration.
Modified configuration
Avg obj. 780 experience:
Dmg: 3798
Dmg blocked: 2.855
Dmg caused with your assistance: 1700
Kills: 2
At least when it's in enemy team
Right. When I'm driving it I get the most ludicrous rng
@@deonte9014 nah you're just bad and you're desperately trying to find excuses.
I'm on the west coast in the US and they started the sale at 3am my time. By the time I got up at 7:15am, all the limited number ones were gone. (Qty: 7,000). AND I'M GLAD THEY WERE. Feel like I side stepped a land mine in not wasting so much resources on this tank. I like see them out there cause for the most part they are easy pickings. You do get the occasional OP player that does really well, but for the vast majority....not so much.
I'm glad it is a balanced tank and not something OP, but it is just way too expensive. If you take into account all the resources and equate that to time and money spent, this tank was $150+ bucks...thats just nuts.
Trying to 3 mark which means you want dos but you get fires every other game and 1/5 games ammo rack... the tank is bugged, it has the reticle issue too
if you have automatic fire extinguisher and preventive mentenance skill then Fire chance drops form 15% to 10%
Except this tank doesn't take fire from the engine but from fuel tanks. Which means that this skill is useless.
@@borisnadin5739 true
@@borisnadin5739 well, I was curious about the statistics of the tank from some players I fought. And someone of them had way better DPG than other heavy tanks. It has good gun handling, for me this is the most important
Now that's what I like to see, a Balanced tank. Time to reinstall lmao
It feels like them adding balanced tanks makes ccs a bit annoyed, and I personally like some good change and I think that soon we might expect some tech tree buffs or nerfs to premiums,I think its possible
@@DV-1701 CCs that are underwhelmed by this tank are out of touch with the real issue: No one wants another Chieftain 279(e) issue in WOT
@@ryokajimosensei2780 Yep if they released something broken the community would be crying too. WG is stupid, but the community is even worse.
you know there are a lot comparing this tank with chief and 277. but in reality. its not even close.
THE BIGGEST BANK ROBBERY EVER
The serial numbered version of 780 sold out on the Asian server in around 20 minutes. (5000 pcs)
Premium extinguisher +firefighting is a must.
To be honest every obj 780 player is making the same mistake by not taking a fire extinguisher
at least it is better than E100 experience
there is a purpose for those fire extinguishers
Love the tank and I’m happy that I got it for my self. I use improved rotation, gun rammer, modified config and nem crew. I can work with this setup. DEZ love your Channel keep up the good content.
first think i do after buying 780 - 3k bonds for the bond configuration - 140 battles without fire or amorack
Hardening really comes in clutch. Lets you live through a few of those fires. :P
instead of hardening run modified config? u then get 0 fires lol
Still 6528 standard obj 780 tanks available on NA server
Used the xp I was saving for the new td line. I kinda regret it now lol. The only good part is I collect tanks.
Yeah I am having buyers remorse on this tank. Bonds, free xp, gold I wish I had never spent to be honest. To be honest Dez did a video before where it was up against that 279e and didnt do well (not that many tanks do well of course) and should of known better.
Eh, you'll be able to grind it out normally anyways. No point rushing to the tier 10 tank on the first day.
Eventually, got the 16 000th-ish copy.
that "tiny" lower plate feels like is 90% of the tank dude wg
i wasnt cauth on fire that much but i was blown to hell by t30 in object 780
Its easy to fight against but painful when u got hit.
I ammo racked and one shot a 780 yesterday by hitting it with AP at distance...in its right track front/lower glacias joint...loloololol
I added a Mod Config and I've not had a fire in about 20 games.
I just want them to buff the belly of the 780, 30mm is too low, it needs 50 at least
I really like this tank and didn’t spend one penny getting it just resources that I can’t really use anymore or is easily replaceable. I run modified configuration and have not been set on fire one time yet.
WG made $6 million on gold sales in 2 days due to the 780 resource sink scam.
I really really like my tank - I am surprised how it fits my play style and how much fun i have playing it, but I still perform better with obj 277 and maus
