Do not change your one take video method. It's one of the main reasons I love watching your videos. If they were perfect they wouldn't have the humor in them that I enjoy. On another note, I went to my second coin show ever this weekend in Columbia, Missouri. I'm guessing around 20 dealers. One of them actually had a bank note I was looking for, 600 miles away from where it originally started in 1838. He said he's owned it for many years waiting for the person who was looking for it. It's from my hometown so it'll soon be back home where it was first issued.
Hey Ben, We love the way your content is and your humor is exactly what the community needs! You are correct on the amount of garbage out in youtube land, YOURS IS NOT! See you soon
I really appreciate lack of editing & 2nd takes. Although I really have no interest in many of the coins you feature & talk about I really enjoy being educated & learning. Plus your wit has had me laughing & chuckling many many times. Somedays I count on your video to cheer me up on an otherwise dull day. I was within miles of coming to see if I could meet you & visit the shop but I just ran out of time & had to get back on the road & head home to the upper midwest. .
And, now for a third. thank you good sir for addressing my question about coin conservation. I learned not to submit voice recognition q’s w/o re-reading them in the future. You navigated that well. 🤙
Could you do a talk on insurance recommendations , including the best companies and type of coverage and mass storage thoughts, meaning large quantities of 2x2s, slabs etc. Where best to store them, containers,. environment etc?
Hi Ben I stopped buying major stuff on Ebay a while ago it is just too risky and I have had a few bad experiences thanks for all the good content I look forward to seeing your videos every day at lunch time I wish I could go to the coin show @ the Carson City Mint
So sad I’ll miss you at Carson City. Was just there and talked to the staff about the coin show and saw the proposed location. Any chance you can make a guest appearance at Long Beach? I’ll even grant you an interview. 😊
*Mr. Ben...Didn't your Parents ever teach you to never apologize for who you are? "Book Report Ben" does a fine job with these videos he puts together. I for one appreciate your efforts and the knowledge you share.... Coin "restoration or conservation" services are no different than putting a rare marble on a marble grinder and "restoring" the surface. Coins & marbles and everything else with a history, have stories to tell. Those stories are often depicted on their surfaces. Marbles have dings & dents because they were toys, played with by Children. This is exactly why undamaged examples of them can be so valuable...This is ESPECIALLY TRUE with Rare Coins. They have stories to tell too. (if they could only talk, the stories they might tell).. "Restoring" wipes away that history and in my opinion, significantly detracts from that item's legitimacy and intrinsic value. At it's heart, "restoration" is obfuscation of the truth...Another word for that is lying. Yes, some coins have mold on them, yes that mold has probably damaged and will continue to damage the coin...But that coin has a story to tell. It's a story I want to hear, (and I don't think I'm alone)...You keep on being Ben. I don't always agree with Ben...But I sincerely do appreciate Ben, just the way he is*
I wish I could go to the Coin Show at the Carson City Mint. It's unfortunate that our Government provides incentives for companies to move their manufacturing offshore. I would like to see those incentives changed to disincentives so that jobs and manufacturing returns to the US. Even the company I retired from sold their pension to a reinsurer whose headquarters are located in the Bahamas, a tax haven country which assesses little, if any, income tax on their income.
Dear Ben, I have question. I have a an 1887-O Morgan silver dollar that somebody somewhere sometime thought would be a good idea to use in a belt buckle and silver plate it all. The coin is no longer in a belt buckle, in fact, I never saw the buckle but there is obvious evidence on the reverse. Can silver plate be removed from a silver dollar? That’s the question of the day! Thanks.
I have purchased pure acetone, MS-70, and EZ-Est to not clean coins. I was wondering if you or your viewers had any suggestions about not cleaning coins. What product is best for not cleaning Silver? Which is best for not cleaning copper? Which is best for not cleaning nickel? I was thinking of not practicing cleaning on some common foreign coins that I have before not cleaning some U.S. coins.
Double comment. And I’m only 4:12 in…. “You can trouble me for a warm glass of shut-the-hell-up. Now, you will go to sleep or I will put you to sleep. Check out the name tag. You’re in my world now, grandma.” Tell use you are preparing so be Ben stiller’s handlebar Hal from happy Gilmore w that growth starting on your face
Hi Ben, Here is a question I would like to hear your opinion about: It is my observation that proof-like graded coins (PL) are mostly encountered among Morgan dollars. Personally, I've never encounters a PL Peace dollar at all, whether at a coin show or for sale on-line. Among other coins and denominations (yes, even Presbyterians), I've rarely seen a PL uncirculated strike. Maybe this is my observation because Morgan dollars are so widely and popularly traded as compared to so many other coin types and I am not seeing the full extent of PL coins. So, to get to my actual question, do you think that Morgan dollars are where the greatest frequency of PL strikes exist? If yes, why is this the case? If not, what other series of US coins can PL strikes be widely found? Many thanks as always for your profoundly wise insight!
Hi Ben. I picked up the 1940 Proof Mercury Dime that is on my want list. For now, I need the 1955 DCAM Nickel that is on my list. I would appreciate it if you could keep an eye out for one for me, please. Thanks. *>>--->* 🦉
Do people still buy coins? I wouldn't know it from my eBay sales (down 74% in August). I was thinking of giving up on my ebay coin store and attending clown college instead.

Shades of the Chicago Daily Tribune headline of "Dewey Defeats Truman"
*FIRST THUMB UP!* 👍
Also, I probably wouldn't suggest taking any numismatic advice from Stevie Wonder. Just saying.
