I really wish I did. I actually sold this beauty for a little under 15 grand thinking that was a great offer. At the time it was, but I think today this is probably a 17-18k car in this color combo, stock, with the LT4 and Z51 package.
I'f anyone thinks the C8 is better looking than this ( looks, not performance ) then you just as well buy a Ferrari or a McLaren. This is a REAL Corvette.
Yes sir!! This thing is BEAUTIFUL… I confirmed my preference for the C4 over C8 at Costco. They had a Maisto die cast section and I grabbed a C4 GS over a C8😂
The color Green and Corvette always went well together. Unfortunately back when I bought my C6 that color wasn’t available, so I opted for the next best , Monterey Red. Love the style of the C4, but like the C6 Tech. This C4 is a very nice example
Thank you. I love the C4, my interest skips past the C5.. save for the Z06. The C6 would be the next vette I am interested in, as I have only had C4 and C3 gens. I also like the C7, but I feel the C6 offers a touch more bang for buck. And the C6 is still a looker to me!
C-4 vettes get a lotta crap. I always liked em especially because they are now in a decent price range. This one is top of the heap. Thanks for sharing
You’re right. Great color, great car. My LT4 is black on black. I think I Love the Polo Green more but not the saddle interior. Also agree about the base seats...they’re better.
Amazing car Matt! I had no idea they were rarer than the ZR-1s. If owned one of those it would be hard for me to sell it...lol. beautiful colour combo.
Couldn't agree more with your comment. When I was looking to buy a C-4 this was the color combo I most interested in. I passed on a Red-on-red 1990 ZR1 19.000 mile like new, like Matt's car somebody really took care of it. The red interior was blindingly RED. But like just off the lot new! I was concerned about Maintenace on the LT5 cost. When I took a short while to mull it over. But I passed on it. Had it been Matt's color combo I would have jumped at the offer. But still parts for an LT5? Just the clutch replacement is not $1.600 at a shop. But I've grown older, and engines and clutches are a thing of the past. Matt's car having 50.000 + is not a bad thing due to somebody taking care of service maintenance, REALLY important on any car or truck! I ended up with a L-98 1990 convertible hardtop with 27.000 miles on the odo. No fireball that's for sure. #1 It was lacking in maint. but nothing that tires, and overall service would take care of. The price was right and a one owner car with a perfect paint and body. Sport seat's no damage. Trans shifts great for an auto. The radio is non- Opp, Bad amp. goofy Boise system. Yup 40.000 when it rolled off the lot. Crazy money for 1990. ZR1 was around 90.000 Wow! A small thing I have found true over the years is you want to by a vett. Only if you can Drive it first and do a good inspection. Or have an independent insp. done. Your corvette life will be Happy one and not oh it cost what! to fix! Sorry to babble on.
I had this car, minus the Z51, I was the fifth owner…I want it back!! Polo Green with the Beige interior, LT4, Bose Gold, both tops…did I say I want it back!!! I know where the current owner lives, 20 minutes away…thinking of sending him a letter or email “if you ever want to sell…”. What a perfect car!! The Beige interior makes the car, the Polo Green is second only to the Admiral Blue on the true Grand Sport. Coupe only, I will own another. Great Video, thanks for bringing back all the great memories. I cannot wait to get another!
Have a polo green/beige 1993 LT1 6 spd convertible and a 95 ZR1 polo green/ beige. Incredible cars for the money. It takes some patience and research to have one that is well sorted. The ZR1 is very quick very smooth and revs to redline easily. Both cars a little over 70K on the clock. ZR1 is a Porsche killer. The LT1 is respectably quick and as a base model handles just fine. The ZR1 is basically a great car to modify but have resisted the temptation as I am not sure where I would use another 150hp. Anyway I enjoyed the review of the LT4. Next on my list.
Hey Matt, thanks for the vids You do your home work. Great c4s you acquired. I have stock 96 luckily it wasn't chopped up. It had the original variable shocks. I had 2 mechanics that missed how worn they were. I did them myself. That's the only issue with older cars, mechanics are rare. So it's required to do the work yourself. Again thanks. Love the green paint.
I have a 95 lt1 64k same color combo.. I get tons of compliments on the color. I recently replaced the targa top and all the weatherstripping. Good luck with your C4.
Thank you! I've sold this one, but I now have another. A 1996 torch red LT4. I just made a video on it. I do love that polo green though, one of the best colors on C4!
@@panchosspeedshop8576, The first LT4 car I went to buy was Polo Green, I would have bought it too, but the guy got weird on me when I asked to put it on a lift so I bowed out. Then I saw this super low mile Comp Yellow car the next day and had to have it. .
Nothing wrong with a high mileage Corvette, that's the beauty of them!!! You can drive them all you want, and they're easy to maintain. Yours is a polo green lt4 just like this??
i have a super nice 94 identical to this but mine is LT1 auto with chrome sawblades. Wanted a manual but all the manual cars i found were ragged. Nice car thanks for posting it Matt.
Beautiful Corvette, love the paint color and the interior. I grew up in Kokomo, Indiana. Every year I went to the Delco Electronics open house. I fell in love with the C4 Corvettes. If you start to think about selling, I would be interested.
Unfortunately this one has sold. I have 2 other LT4 cars, one is on ebay and ends tomorrow. The other is a procharged project I need to get to work on!
I am considering a 96 just like this car. I heard the Z51 Handling Package is an option. How is this compared to the Performance FE-1 suspension? I heard the Z51 is a stiffer suspension. Was the Z51 generally preferred for cruising? Thanks
The Z51 is still pretty comfy. It's stiffer than the base, but 1984 was the year that they were really stiff. This car was still very comfortable for touring and it is the specification that I would look for if I was shopping.
I have same combo, 94. I'm saving it as a reference to see what mine could look like :-) Beautiful job. Mine is x2 the miles, but I bought it for a song and I am fixing it up a bit.
I think the other (92-95) LT1s came with steel roller tip rockers...but I forget! I know they are great engines. Mine with 130k miles looks like new under the valve covers...and runs great!
I should have kept it. I just bought another LT4. There is a video of it on my channel. Someday it might be for sale, but I'm planning on enjoying it a while :)
The best time to buy one was 4 years ago! But I still say now is a better time than in 4 more years. The LT4 cars are gaining appreciation at a rapid rate!
Very nice. I have a 1995 C 4 Corvette. Same color same interior. Mine is an automatic. I don’t have the glass top tho. I’ve owned her for 3 years. Just an amazing machine. Great video.
Great Video and nice car. I own a 92 convertible. It's quite an odd duck. It was born an LT1, automatic. The original owner, I'm the 3rd, was an employee of GM and replaced the LT1 with the LT4 and also added the 6 speed. I could not track him down to find out when exactly the swap was done. The car has 54K miles, so I really don't know how many miles are on the LT4 and 6 speed trans. I have the build sheet and window sticker that states the dealership where the car was originally sent in 92. At this point they are under a different name and they had no records of the original owner by the VIN. Do you have any suggestions as to how I may go about finding the original owner? Thanks again for the video.
You might find help from a private detective, they might be able to reach out to the original owner for you. Then if the owner chooses to, they will have your contact information to reach out!
Mike, my dad built this c4 you have! I’m trying to figure out how to get ahold of you, or you can contact me- bc he would love to talk to you about it! I tried putting my email in but it keeps getting deleted. That car has a pretty cool history, and he’s been talking about it for years since he sold it. It was originally purchased in Lafayette, IN from the dealer and lived the majority of its life in kokomo, In- That’s just info to prove that I am legit. Any ideas how to connect and discuss this?
@@mattquerio How do I get ahold of this guy?! This car he talks about is the car my dad built- 100% guaranteed! We have all the info on the build, and would be awesome to connect! My dad sold the car in 2015 and has never stopped talking about it. I had put my email in a comment but it got deleted- any ideas?!
That's a very close guess. The collectors edition with the long tubes, 4.10 gears, and unknown pcmforless tune (might have just been to correct the speedo, and slight timing bump) ran 13.1054 @ 109.09 with a 1.98 60ft. I just went back and looked at the time slip in my Google photos. That was at the local track here, US 131 motorsports Park.
Keeping my 96 collector edition z51 lt1 auto 25k miles payed probably too much at 14999 but car is like new was going to list it but I think I'll wait cool video
I hear yoiu! I've been trying to find out the breakdown of 1993 40th Anniversary Z07 (Z51+FX3) 6 speed cars. I think it is around 139 (also rarer than a ZR1, and handle incredible), but that is only an estimate. The corvette Museum has the data...just need to filter it!
I'd love to find a Z07 car. Not many know about it, but I've heard it's quite the package. And special package aside, the ruby 40th cars are beautiful!
Well this car sold for 14,900. It was on the market for 15 minutes. Similar examples in this condition can be had in the $12,500-18,000 range today. The LT4 is gaining ground, as people are realizing there were less of these built than ZR1... and the performance is not at ZR1 level, but it's not far off. One of my LT4 cars saw 13.05 or so at over 109mph. I can say they have hit bottom, and are climbing at a rate faster than a typical TPI or LT1 automatic. But, like anything, C4s are an acquired taste. They are a fantastic car that you really need to drive before you judge :)
@@mattquerio I suspect the value will climb, but slow. I'm basing my opinion on value of C3 Corvettes. These are great cars to buy and enjoy...and as long as you maintain them, they won't go down in value...but I would not expect to buy a few, store them and retire on their value in 20 years.
My dad bought a used 96 lt4 6spd conv. Black , tan , tan not sure past that it's been 25 years ago lol. Be curious about production numbers on that as close as possible if anyone knows. Both him and the car are long gone now.
That would be a fairly rare car, I'd estimate less than 1700 LT4 base convertible cars (approx 50% of the 3350 LT4 base cars). With color etc, that number will get smaller.
I sold this car on Facebook in a C4 group. These have risen a lot. I paid 11k for this car locally. I sold it for 15k. Today I think 18.5k might be a realistic selling price on this car to the right buyer
What an amazing car! I am wondering how the base seats would be for a tall driver, compared to the sport seats, as far as accomplishing leg room. Any idea? Thanks!
my 96 LT4 triple black convertable cost 52,000 when new, Just put the stock sawblades back on it. Replace the stock radiator with a Dewitts double row aluminum radiator and keep cooling system clean and no over heating, I even been concerned about how cool it runs sometimes. ha kalamazoo
Nice ride! It's almost a twin to my LT4: Polo Green/Beige interior. Mine isn't a Z51, however, and I have the base cassette radio. 53K miles, and I picked it up for a song last year, so I'm not complaining.
This is such a beautiful car! Do you still have this car? I would genuinely be interested in buying it if you are open to selling. I’d love to talk more
This would have been *The* C4 I want. Unfortunately, local prices are jacked up way high (Southeast PA), so I was priced out of the the higher-tier C4s. Still, a red '95 LT1 A4 isn't a slouch, for a base car.
I bought it for $11,200 in mid 2021 in Michigan, and I sold for $14,900 going into fall to a gentleman in LosAngeles. When I sold the car i posted it in a C4 Facebook group, and it was on the market for about 15 minutes before I had a deposit. If I was selling this car today I'd be asking $17,900.
@@mattquerio yea, that sounds about right. My local market, any '90s C4 M6 is generally $13-14k base asking price, so a 3k premium for LT4 engine isn't surprising. My base version was $10k. Similar cars sourced out of the Midwest were, at the time, around 7k.
@@EagleScoutmano The Z51 (or Z07 depending upon year) makes a big difference in handling. Many owners/sellers do not know if they have it. If you are in the market, I recommend looking/holding out for one of those (check RPO sticker or look for 275 tires at all 4 corners...1992 the tire search does not work becuase they were all 275s). There is a 1993 Motortrend Article that does an awesome comparison of the Z07 to the Zr1 to the Viper to a Mustang Cobra to a Z28.
You can just tape those caps off on the rear hatch and use a paint called trim black you know stuff it with a red scuff pad and your good for another 3 or 4 years
Stepdad has one of the first zr-1, 6 spd and it goes regularly between Newport Tenn and San Diego California, in 6th gear gets well over 20mpg at reasonable speeds and plenty fast
Tell me, because i've never got a straight answer to this, but what is an "original mile"??? Not one person has been able to give any sort of answer to this question yet. The roller rockers were Crane, essentially the same as Crane Gold race roller rockers. No idea why GM bothered with the 28lb/hr injectors on the LT4s, they most certainly were not needed, Callaway 383s used the stock 24lb/hr Multecs and never ran out of fuel. Swap the seat base leathers side to side ;) The car is in pretty darn good shape really isn't it.
To me original miles means no major components replaced. If someone said to me 65k original miles, I would assume they mean the engine and transmission, and other major components have only been maintained... but otherwise not meddled with. But that's just my definition! And yes, this was an absolutely spectacular example!
@@mattquerio yeah mate no one has actually put it that way to me before, and your definition makes enough sense. I see this term used often, and then it'll be followed by "auto rebuild XXXX miles ago, AFR heads, crane XX cam, double springs, tuned by XXXXX" and things like that.
Sadly I sold it to a gentleman in Los Angeles. It is in a good home, though the market climbed a bit after I sold it. I let it go for 15k. I think this year it's value climbed to about 18k. But I also believe it has since fallen from that high. Of all the C4's I've had, this was by far the nicest car, and nicest combination. If you have the opportunity to get a LT4 Z51... please do it. You won't regret it.
@@mattquerio I have to disagree Matt. Mine has one , is 100% bone stock . my buddy bought new had one . Just not all had them and may have been dealer installed. Just like the Mobil1 sticker under the hood.
Awesome, Great having a variation one instead of Base Stock Vette. Mine is 87'-Z-52(first year) Red w/Graphite loaded. It was trash when I got it from the stupid Crack head kid. Now looks great but still have things to do. Great video.
Thank you for the kind words. I had an 85 base vette, I loved that car. The interior in the 84-89 cars is absolutely fantastic in my opinion. Perfect car to listen to 80s music in!
The funny thing is, is those German cars after they get 10 years old they don’t put out the same performance, but that lt4 20 years later is still as fast as it was the day it stepped off the showroom floor. And if you look at the numbers it’s still putting up numbers that’s legit in today’s world. I’m definitely trying to find me one. Not to mention, you can find parts for the car and it’s relatively easy to work on and try doing work on a 911, which would still cost about 35 grand in similar condition. Assuming it doesn’t need any repairs. German cars are so overrated.
I am starting to see these cars head north of $24K, or at least owners are starting to try and force the price up. Give it time, they will be very expensive, like 3rd Gen F-Bodies.
I am seeing a similar trend. A lot of these cars are getting bought up by younger guys (18-25) and "personalized." Sometimes that means wheels, stance, and a wrap. Sometimes it means vette cart. Either way, its to the point where the last of the original owners (baby boomers that bought them new) are selling, and they are being consumed at a rapid rate. Every day there is less clean stock C4s available. That's a fact.
@@mattquerio Absolutely. Partly I blame UA-cam (is it a bad thing? I really don't think it is one way or the other) as it seems C4 videos have become so popular with the car guy crowd. I think the whole "these are cheap, get them now!" is beginning to sink in. I still want one again, I had an 85' Z51 w/ auto back in 93'. It was the ugly two tone bronze, but didn't care. Was amazing what you had with a Z-51 vs a standard model (which my father had, 85' as well) Those big sway bars and end links, Bilsteins, oil cooler, dual fans on the larger radiator, faster steering, rear axle ratio (51 or just option? had the 3.0x ratio), and I think the monoleaf springs had a different rate? Can't recall.
That green exterior with tan interior is awesome.
It's a beauty and I hope you keep her.
I really wish I did. I actually sold this beauty for a little under 15 grand thinking that was a great offer. At the time it was, but I think today this is probably a 17-18k car in this color combo, stock, with the LT4 and Z51 package.

The best time to buy one was 4 years ago! But I still say now is a better time than in 4 more years. The LT4 cars are gaining appreciation at a rapid rate!
I enjoy my LT4, just too much fun.
They are an absolutely fantastic package!
I used to have that intake on my LT4. The only knock on it is it’s not sealed. Intake temps can get high.
I intend to remove it in favor of a stock air box.
@@mattquerio I would just seal it. I have the Vortex Ram Air system that works really well with intake temps.
Very nice. I have a 1995 C 4 Corvette. Same color same interior. Mine is an automatic. I don’t have the glass top tho. I’ve owned her for 3 years. Just an amazing machine. Great video.
Thank you! And I agree, the C4 is a great platform and a great value.
@@mattquerio That's a thought. Thanks
@@mattquerio
How do I get ahold of this guy?! This car he talks about is the car my dad built- 100% guaranteed! We have all the info on the build, and would be awesome to connect! My dad sold the car in 2015 and has never stopped talking about it. I had put my email in a comment but it got deleted- any ideas?!
You mentioned the trap speed of your collectors edition but not the 1/4 mile time..would you mind sharing? I’ll give a guess @ 13.4?
That's a very close guess. The collectors edition with the long tubes, 4.10 gears, and unknown pcmforless tune (might have just been to correct the speedo, and slight timing bump) ran 13.1054 @ 109.09 with a 1.98 60ft. I just went back and looked at the time slip in my Google photos. That was at the local track here, US 131 motorsports Park.
I see this is an old post. But do you gain any additional head room with glass top vs. hard top?
The head room is the same with both tops.
@@mattquerio Thanks,
Keeping my 96 collector edition z51 lt1 auto 25k miles payed probably too much at 14999 but car is like new was going to list it but I think I'll wait cool video
Thank you! Sounds like a keeper, and the price sounds fine in today's market!
Nice Vette, did you know there is a hatch button on the end of of each door panel. Makes it easier than reaching for the yellow button !!!
I did! Good call!
I like that color!
Thanks! Me too, I think polo green over beige interior is gorgeous!
@@mattquerio Thanks! Im going to make a vid providing overview of Z07!
Sweet ride
Thank you!
Where do you see the values of these going? Is there potential for these to be high dollar down the road?
She’s very, very pretty. Enjoy her in good health.
Thank you!
Cool car my guy
Thank you!
This one is fire❕☑️💚
Where do you list your cars for sale? This is worth a lot more than $15k in todays market
Any idea? Thanks!
I have had both, I would say there is not much difference in leg room between the two. I do prefer the look of the base seat though!
my 96 LT4 triple black convertable cost 52,000 when new, Just put the stock sawblades back on it. Replace the stock radiator with a Dewitts double row aluminum radiator and keep cooling system clean and no over heating, I even been concerned about how cool it runs sometimes. ha kalamazoo
Oh wow you're super local! I'm up in Plainwell.
Great Video, love all C4's especially the lt4. I would be interested if you do ever decide to sell!!!
Thanks man. Much appreciated. The car actually did sell to a collector in LA.
Nice ride! It's almost a twin to my LT4: Polo Green/Beige interior. Mine isn't a Z51, however, and I have the base cassette radio. 53K miles, and I picked it up for a song last year, so I'm not complaining.
Sounds like a great car. I didn't really have strong feelings towards polo green until I saw it in person. Then I was in love!
I have a white one with 51k miles grey guts. Love the car but my knees say get an 08 up C6 . A GS would seem appropriate .
Fast cars with the lt4
It's really surprising how powerful they are!
This is such a beautiful car! Do you still have this car? I would genuinely be interested in buying it if you are open to selling. I’d love to talk more
Thank you for the kind words! This car actually sold to a collector in Los Angeles last fall.
Have you posted it for sale? Is it still available?
I have not posted it, we still have it :)
Did you ever put this car up for sale?
Yes, I sold it too cheap in hindsight. It went to the Los Angeles area.
This would have been *The* C4 I want. Unfortunately, local prices are jacked up way high (Southeast PA), so I was priced out of the the higher-tier C4s. Still, a red '95 LT1 A4 isn't a slouch, for a base car.
(I would like to know the price on this one, and when you bought it)
I bought it for $11,200 in mid 2021 in Michigan, and I sold for $14,900 going into fall to a gentleman in LosAngeles.
@@CC_Top_Solutions sadly, I am not in the market; I have a base coupe with A4, non-Z51. It does have the 3.07 final drive ratio, though.
Hello there im interested to buy it if you ready to sell it?where are you located im in NYC.
It's sold, sadly. A collector in the Los Angeles.
hey matt. just now finding this vid a year later. i assume you've sold it by now?
Hey Paul, yes I did sell the Polo LT4. It went to a gentleman in LA. Keep an eye on my channel, I am always hunting.
Really nice! ..maybe because I have similar polo green LT4 with same interior :) ..but now "ruined" with Turbo :D
A turbo sounds fun to me!!!
Oh, what wax do you go with?
I actually use F11 spray wax. Seems to keep things nice and shiny!
Polo Green! I'll take it! The Vette belongs in Vegas, with me 🏆🤟😉😎
Haha thanks man
Hey did you end up selling this car ? It might beat 15.5 at auction.
I did sell it to a guy in Los Angeles. I think it would pull more money today than the 15k I sold it for.
You can just tape those caps off on the rear hatch and use a paint called trim black you know stuff it with a red scuff pad and your good for another 3 or 4 years
Thanks for the tip!
Very nice
Thank you!!
Gem
Stepdad has one of the first zr-1, 6 spd and it goes regularly between Newport Tenn and San Diego California, in 6th gear gets well over 20mpg at reasonable speeds and plenty fast
I love the ZR1, that's a dream of mine.
My 93 Z07 LT1 got consistently 27MPG highway going from South Jersey to Nashville and back!
What are you asking, currently?
It's not currently listed for sale, but when it is it will be in the 13,999 range.
@@mattquerio I think it will bring more than that right now .
Do you still have this beautiful car
Tell me, because i've never got a straight answer to this, but what is an "original mile"???
Not one person has been able to give any sort of answer to this question yet.
The roller rockers were Crane, essentially the same as Crane Gold race roller rockers. No idea why GM bothered with the 28lb/hr injectors on the LT4s, they most certainly were not needed, Callaway 383s used the stock 24lb/hr Multecs and never ran out of fuel.
Swap the seat base leathers side to side ;)
The car is in pretty darn good shape really isn't it.
Do you still have this car?
Sadly I sold it to a gentleman in Los Angeles. It is in a good home, though the market climbed a bit after I sold it. I let it go for 15k. I think this year it's value climbed to about 18k. But I also believe it has since fallen from that high. Of all the C4's I've had, this was by far the nicest car, and nicest combination. If you have the opportunity to get a LT4 Z51... please do it. You won't regret it.
@@mattquerio Thanks for the reply. It was a very nice car and I plan on owning one like it one day. Take care.
Where is this car in 3-01-2022?
Los Angeles, CA!
Collector plates in less than 3 years man🎉
In Michigan 1997 and older can have collector plates. 26 years 🥳
@@mattquerio LUCKEEEYYYY
So did you sell this???
Yes, it went to Los Angeles.
Did you sale this Bette?
It did sell, yes.
is there not a hatch popper on the door
To be honest cannot recall. It may have been in the center console. But I could be mistaken!
@@mattquerio in my 1991 there is one on both doors and one in the center console
Did this one sell?
It did. It went to Los Angeles. I wish I still had it.
How much is a car like that
Well it sold for $15k, but today likely $17-18k.
I’d like to see it paint corrected and ceramic coated. The coating would bring the paint to the next level.
I agree, it would POP
Where is the lt4 emblem on the rear bumper?
They did not come with any external LT4 emblem. If you've seen a car with that, it was added by an owner.
@@mattquerio I have to disagree Matt. Mine has one , is 100% bone stock . my buddy bought new had one . Just not all had them and may have been dealer installed. Just like the Mobil1 sticker under the hood.
Great opener everybody or anybody 😂😂
Lol 😆
Awesome, Great having a variation one instead of Base Stock Vette. Mine is 87'-Z-52(first year) Red w/Graphite loaded. It was trash when I got it from the stupid Crack head kid. Now looks great but still have things to do. Great video.
Thank you for the kind words. I had an 85 base vette, I loved that car. The interior in the 84-89 cars is absolutely fantastic in my opinion. Perfect car to listen to 80s music in!
The front tires are hilariously wide.
Yes the 275 square setup in a sub 3300lb car made for G R I P!
I agree. The LT4 is a beast for it's era, and it's price point
Thanks, I think. Lol
this one time i decided i wanted an 1996 silver or white convertible with the lt4 and manual trans ha im so nieve just an innocent simpleton
They're fun cars.
95 v4 dash lites gages going on blink
I'm not sure what you're getting at, but I'll help if you can clarify :)
Not supposed to use the steering wheel to help you get out and doors should be closed when you close the hood. Just sayin.
All true!
