great video I've narrowed mine down to a few balls 2024 Titleist AVX , Taylormade TP5 , Callaway ERC soft , PXG Extreme , and for spring and fall months Taylormade Speedsoft , tour Response Striped , Srixon Q-Star tour Divide I actually Love all these balls and play them all depends on weather and which ones were on sale and to tell you the truth no real difference distance wise off the driver some are a smidge softer than the others but i Love the way they all react nowadays ya can't really go wrong if ya go with which ever ball I am 59 years old and a 7 handicap and LOVE golf cheers to you all from Vulcan Canada
James , just to say a massive thankyou for the vid you recently put out on bunker play ! I play off 1.6 and have always been terrible out of bunkers , but this weekend out of 5 bunkers with the 56 and 60 with your lesson managed to get up and down with them all !!! So , you have made a61 year old man really happy !!! Thankyou so much ❤
Thanks for the review James. I've been playing Callaway since the Hex Tour back in early 2000's. Last few years I played the CS X LS. Looking forward to trying the Chrome Tour.
I’m not good enough to spend lots of money on my ball. I use the Kirkland, and love it. And I have to say thank you. I bought myself an Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas because of you, and it’s amazing.
Great video James ..when you bring in Chris you know you better listen because Chris definitely knows about the golf swing or golf products.. Question I need a drill for a deeper back swing or a deeper rotation thanks guys
I agree with Chris that the average golfer probably won’t see a difference. I’m a 6 handicap and am just getting to the point where I can “see” the difference. IMHO, the average golfer should just pick a good quality ball with a large alignment aid and stick with it. Save some money and grab a lesson or more range balls. Another great review, Gents!
Just tried this ball out last weekend, it’s a touch firmer with a more penetrating ball flight than the chrome soft, but still has the soft feel around the greens and with the putter….with the Callaway buy 3 get one free promo….its worth the buy, but $55 a dozen is pretty steep
Wilson Zip 302s are my current ball of choice. My current back up are the Precept Laddies. Definitely do like to play with Chrome Softs, just can't justify the price and durability issues I was having with them at an 8 handicap.
I bought the Stealth 2 three wood HD. It has 16.5 degrees of loft and a speeder high launch shaft. Hope it will perform on course like bay for 70 year old who has hard time hitting fairway clubs. The back pocket would be perfect for those big score/green books those competitive golfers carry around and sticking out there back pockets.
Great review fellas. The affordable supersoft has been great for me. I'm not good enough for a premium ball to make a difference and be able to tell but i can tell the difference between a supersoft and a range ball so I'll take it.
I haven't tried the chrome tour, but I did just play a round with the chrome tour x, and I really like it. It didn't help my game because I wasn't trusting the distances on my golf watch and kept being too timid on my shots. Just kept coming up too short.
Just played first today round in 7 months. Used both Chrome Tour and CHROME TOUR X. We were in 20+ mph winds all day. Both need further testing, but I lean toward chrome tour x Any questions? 95-105 mph swingspeed
I just started playing the tour soft coming from the supersoft and I feel I’m getting better distance! The tour soft cost a few more dollars a dozen but I feel it’s worth the difference in cost
always liked the triple track line on the callaway balls, but in the past I never had luck with any of their balls when it comes to performance. I use the Pro V1X Left Dash and the performance for me has been perfect, where as the Callaway Chrome Softs always seemed like 1 out of 3 balls would perform very different from the same sleeve. These seem pretty good though, might give them another shot
The very best part of this video Is when James got that first birdie and started getting cocky Then Chris commenced to whoop that butt James poor face after Chris drove the green Priceless James stick to the Kirkland ball😂
I'm starting to get to a point where I'm starting to see and feel a difference with a premium ball. I love the taylormade speedsoft but today I played a full round with the chromesoft and the consistency off the tee and around the greens may have won me over. To be determined hahaha.
I bought the CHROME TOUR Valentines Ball. Hearts in four different colors with cute little sayings. But, I find them harder then the regular CHROME SOFT and they are LOW SPIN. The biggest difference is they dont putt quite as well as the ProV1. But they do get great distance off the tee.
James i agree I don’t necessarily want to hit my irons further I have them dialed in for distance I want the same consistency for my accuracy. Off the driver more distance WITHOUT hitting harder is always a treat. As for any ball taking Titleist off the throne is probably never going to happen. But I find all the top line balls from the big 4 are so close you can’t go wrong.
I like the videos...but am I the only one who thinks James is kind of a plonker? Never hear him say anything positive about his mates. Nice vid though guys keep it up. I'm gonna try this ball
I cant afford these or Titleist so not really worried. Love you two playing together. Old mates chuntering to each other. In forty years i hope you both are still having banter and out on the course.
I prefer to play the Chrome Soft myself not because its the longest or that it has the triple track but because of the way it performs for me in the short irons/wedges and around the green. I just like the way it feels. Having played many other brands I can honestly say that I dont think the ball has really improved my score much but at least mentally I feel more confident and that for me is a big part of golf.
I recently put this ball in play. It is awesome. Long off the tee and great control around the greens. Titleist better watch out. One thing. I can't stand the triple track. I got the "white" normal looking golf balls.
James isn't wrong, for most of us the ball is the least of our worries. I do believe that a cheap ball can hinder but I have been playing the vice for 2 years now and it gives me everything I am capable of asking of it. I am going to give the seed balls a shot after this allotment of Vice balls is gone.
I bought Kirkland balls for the summer. I'm a 4 handicap and don't think I will notice the difference between them and a Pro V... What's your thoughts?
The sheer number of invented names in this episode is cracking me up. Chrome Soft Tour? Chrome Soft Tour X? CS Tour LSX? Tour Soft? (Which I'm pretty sure is a Titleist ball) - I think Callaway's marketing department needs to come up with a naming structure that we're more likely to remember!
James, 1st hole, 2nd shot, lift clean and replace, but then you stepped on the grass behind the ball, preferring your lie. No, no, no, naughty. If we see anyone doing that in our groups, it is a penalty under rule 13-2. James you're a good enough player, no need to improve the lie behind the ball on the fairway. We don't want other subs copying you, thinking it's ok to do the same, then being pulled up for it. Don't like mentioning it, but it's not something that can be left to chance, hope you understand. No malice intended. Watch both your video's, appreciate the effort made to provide the content.
TaylorMade sent me 4 of their new TP5x and 4 TP5 golf balls. I like the TP5x over the TP5. I have ordered the new TaylorMade SuperSoft for slow swing speeds. It looks like paint has been splashed on them. My Vice Pro golf ball goes longer and it sounds so good off of the new QI10 Max.
I think to truly test had to head into the test, a wedge, eight iron, long iron and driver. And also see if there is a difference and performance on misfits. That’s the real key component if you lose ball speed off of a toe heel or thin shot.
Haven’t tried the chrome tour. Only the tour X. Really like it. The 3 main OEMs, titleist Tm and callaway all have very very similar top tier balls. I typically play Tp5X pix because I love the pix for alignment. But I play prov1/X as well. All 6 balls are pretty much the same
So I’ve heard mixed information on the Tour and Tour x. Supposedly the Tour is the LS model and replaced the CS Tour XLS thus competing with more of the Left Dash ball. Leaving the Chrome Tour X to match up with Pro V1 and Pro V1X
Best marketing and endorsements in the industry I think it's got a lot to do with it being the USA ball of choice too Down here on the south coast where 20-35 mph wind is not uncommon the Callaway rules supreme
Haven’t bought a golf ball for many, many years and won’t be starting now…but hopefully will find a few of these around Willow Valley in the next few months!!
I'm still saying the Callaway superfast is a very good ball that's too overlooked. You get 15 balls for 25-30 bucks. Great spin around the green. Medium spin with irons, and lower spin with the driver. People need to quit sleeping on it
Good video, lads. I’ll be trying out the Tour soon. Is “Phil” a common UK name for the ring-necked pheasants, or is that just a James/Chris inside joke?
The Chrome line is/was very popular in the US. Changing the name entirely would be throwing away millions in investment and name recognition. Maybe it’s not as popular in the UK
At $55 a dozen, I'll pass... Been playing Snell 2023 closeouts for $19 a dozen and they are just as good as a ProV1 - seriously... Vice is pretty good too
Callaway sent me a three pack for free because I’ve spent way too much money with them. I still have all three balls left after three rounds of golf. I have yet to lose one.
Just Calloway marketing team at work. The "average" golfer won't benefit from them. I've hit the new Chrome Gold whatever and still feel the ProV1 remains the dominant ball for better players.
I don't play Titleist that often and if I do they are the TruFeel and they are really not that impressive in regards to the Callaway Supersoft of even the Bridgestone Extra Soft I play which is an older ball I get from Dunham sports here in the states for $18 a dozen
I would have preferred live raw reaction, followed by numbers in studio, instead of “ We already played some golf with theses balls to give more information”! I would have liked to see actual first reactions to feel and sound, not acting out the conclusions you had already came to!
FYI the PXG ball is nearly identical to Pro V1x and it's cheaper. Same with Vice Pro Plus. They're all great balls if that's the profile you're looking for (firm & high spin).
@@canyonaro I just bought a box of vice pro plus. The biggest difference I can tell is on short chip shots. The VPP releases and rolls more on short chips
Yea I got 6 dozen of the Tp5 in my hallway gathering dust I'm enjoyed using the Vice Pro Plus last year I've just put the Chrome Soft Tru Trak into play and couldn't be happier

Has anyone noticed how funny Chris is with the small, quiet comments? I love the dry British sense of humor 😂
Great job boys. I am liking the scramble and the matches. Just like the way you two get along and banter.. Keep it up!
They still have Chrome Soft, just moved the X and LS to Tour and Tour X categories.
James , just to say a massive thankyou for the vid you recently put out on bunker play ! Love the banter between you guys. Excellent video
I am so envious of all the grass on the fairway and around the greens.
I love the Triple Track alignment aid. I use the ERC Soft.
I used them for a good while, but now have gone to Vice.
I love watching you two guy’s testing golf balls, I do enjoy a callaway golf especially the chrome soft
I just ordered 2dz seeds sd01 because of your review. Hope they are as good as you say.
They are brilliant and keeps the colour too
Thanks for the review James. I've been playing Callaway since the Hex Tour back in early 2000's. Last few years I played the CS X LS. Looking forward to trying the Chrome Tour.

Lots of good balls out there. I use Trufeel for wet/soft confitions, Kirkland for dry/hard conditions. Less spin vs more spin ....
The pouch could be so you can fold the jacket up & store it in that pouch. A self storage pocket.
Great video James ..when you bring in Chris you know you better listen because Chris definitely knows about the golf swing or golf products..
Question I need a drill for a deeper back swing or a deeper rotation thanks guys
If golfers are going to pay a premium price for balls, they're buying Titleist at least 75% of the time.
No where buying whatever cost the most, cuz that’s what gets us the best shot, golf logic
We’re fuck I hate autocorrect

That back pocket is for the jacket itself, it’s packable.
With James's new jumpsuit he looks like a ground handler for BOAC.😸

After I saw how many Callaway golf balls were off centered I haven’t played Callaway balls since and that was like 3 years ago. ProV1 works great
I just started playing the tour soft coming from the supersoft and I feel I’m getting better distance! The tour soft cost a few more dollars a dozen but I feel it’s worth the difference in cost

Depends if you’ll notice 10-15 yards shorter on your drives
How do they compare to the Seed balls you’re using on the 2nd 100 guys ?
Any ping i530 review coming?

Hey James! What about the triple track 360? Maybe you would like that more than the normal triple track
the hex blacks were epic
The tour vs the tour x I could tell the spin difference night and day. Going with the tour x for the consistent spin.
Isn’t the pocket to fold the jacket into? Nice balls. Almost as good as the one Amad rolled on Sunday
NO WAY?!
@@JamesRobinsonGolf I think so. Lots of “outdoor “ jackets pack up

It's an Ls with a new jazzy name... but made a bit softer
Maxfli TourS are 4 dozen for $120. It is a really good ball for the mid handicapper.

Yes it does
It's a bit softer than the outgoing LS
James what ball will be in your bag for this season? I know you like Kirkland and Taylormade tour response?
James are you going to test the speed soft ink balls by taylormad love to know ur opinion .thks

I did a ball fitting and the chrome tour just edged out the prov1.
Doesn't really matter what they call it or how much they spent on the redesign or marketing if you're not striking it consistently.
I loved the Chromesoft but have had to stop using them as they are to expensive now, like everything golf wise it is all going daft 😢😢😢
Compare it to a chrome soft!
I’ll stick to TM Tour response stripe

Good ball but have you tried Cut golf ball yet. The grey model is a bomber and the blue model sticks to the green like velcro!
There’d be no reason for me to switch from proven prov1 too any other ball at the same price
It’s not going to knock off Titleist. The ball is just long by reducing spin. Not good for the short game.
Couldn't bring myself to spend the money on premium balls.thats due to my standard of golf mind.majority of golfers feel the same I'm sure.
