Excellent timing for you to put this video out today. I'm going to put my car door and osmo on my AT950 helmet over the next couple days when it's smoking hot outside. Love the clueless reference in there that almost no one will get.
Hi. Great Vid. Nice. I built a battery support plate using some GoPro mounts. The battery (power bank) now sits at the back of my helmet which gives me all day power with an added bonus that it acts as a counter balance to he camera on the chin.
I got a Klim Krios last Christmas and I really like it. I don’t do any recording or anything, so mine is still super light. Talking about the battery, it makes me think of the guys that use NVGs. The units are so heavy, in order to counterbalance the weight, guys velcro spare batteries to the back of their ballistic helmets, which keeps them from tipping forward.
Depending on the back of the helmet you might be able to velcro a NVG Counterweight pouch to carry the Anker battery. That's what I try to do with some helmets.
I'm running a similar setup, but without a splitter, I found the purple panda with a deadcat picks up the bike noise, my voice, and the speakers pretty well when it's up mounted by my ear. I do need to upgrade my gopro though, I'm running the hero 5 with that stupid gigantic microphone adapter that uses up the usb-c slot.
I'm broke as a joke, and this video is a few years old, but I finally scrounged together enough cash to buy the purple panda and the media mod so I can ride around and make better videos where people can actually hear me for a change... I ordered the goods using your affiliate links, so I hope you get a decent little kick back from my purchases. It's a little pricey for my blood, (they don't pay us motorcycle instructors very well) but I'm hoping it will be a worthy investment to help my channel grow and keep people safe on the streets. Thanks Dork! P.S. I also sent you an email the other day, check it out when you get a chance.
So this is crazy I literally tried in the Bell MX9 and the Klim Krios pro at RevZilla's shop last night. That Klim is so light! I am also putting in all the same stuff you have, I already have everything you have on the table except that mount, I . curious to know how that works for you.
Hey man I know you mentioned that you like your batter on the top like that, but could I offer a suggestion? Maybe it might help maybe not. When I ride I use this battery pack that is no bigger then a credit card. I use the industrial Velcro that you find on an easy pass. It works amazingly and is small and light. I mount it to the back to counter balance the go pro, once again it is small and light. Now this battery is 5000Mah which works for a full day for me, but I always keep an identical spare that I can swap out to in like 3 seconds since it's this strong Velcro. Not knocking your design I'm just trying to help, I can email you some pics and info if you think it will help you out.
Thank you for sharing. A little light when working in the helmet would be great. Does having your go pro connect to a battery mean it’s no longer waterproof because of the connection?
Did you noticed at the start you turned helmet so we saw the top & it looked like a possible Star Wars helmet. Check it out just before you put the mount on .
Great video! Question for you: ever have problems with your Purple Panda mic not recording? I have a GoPro hero session 5 (with mic adaptor) and a Purple Panda lapel mic on my helmet as my motovlogging setup. The mic records sound only every 5th time (or so) that I hit the record button on my GoPro. The rest of the time, all you hear is a pop at the beginning of the video, followed by highly muffled sound which fades away after 2-3 seconds. Any thoughts?
I runmy battery into a jacket pocket, the usb attackment isn't that hard to get to when taking gear off and I don't have that dangerous weight on my helmet.. move i down!
Bro that helmet set-up is so flush. Dripping with fleek on the yeet.
Absolutely love your vids.....so true to life....here comes my filming set up.....

Great and honest video presentation. I really enjoy your content. and the fact that we are both in Oregon sweetens the deal even more.
I agree with putting the battery horizontally on the lower back of the helmet. It’s out of the wind and better balanced.
0:38 that is one fat cat. 😻 it caught my attention rather than the brand new helmet.

Use heat shrink instead of tape mate , and it’s waterproof, take it from a uk biker 😂 plus rarely needs replacing on cam rigs on helmets 👍
Anker makes a candy bar battery thats just shaped better and a little less weight, it will last a good 12 hours.
Still just a helmet for me but I would suggest puting battery at the rear to balance & keep top clean.

Nice video, next time use a light on the camera so we can actually see what you did inside the helmet.

the mic mod makes your gopro non-water prof.
I need to get in gear (pun intended) and get some these parts ordered.
Nice helmet. Good review.
Flush 32, dude!
Introduce us to your pets, please👍

Could possible hot glue the battery cable instead of tape 🤔
Which microphone are you using for the front (voice) and which for the ear mic?
Do a follow up showing the two different cameras while riding
I too have an orange tabby we call Chungus.
Ever try putting the battery on your waist and run a cord up your back?
Does the purple panda work for you because mine didn’t work for my hero 9
You need to use the adapter
Maybe my adapter was bad then because I try everything lol 😂
Too bad something couldn't be mounted safely mounted in the back of the helmet to balance out the front and back.

Think I will pass on all that.. I would like just the setup to film and my voice only... lol

same here, pocket that battery.
