The briefcase is tacky looking with the gold and moose in the front. Saddleback all the way. Great instructional video.
The logos are optional, you just have to specify in your order you'd like them left off with no fees. If you send an email to customer service you can customize basically anything, on nearly all of their products. You can even request different leather colors than advertised, usually with no extra cost involved. I don't personally own one of these, but there are a couple people that have bought them in a SBL buy and sell group I'm in. Those people say there is absolutely no comparison between this bag and anything SBL offers, so I wouldn't just write it off automatically. Also keep in mind this bag was a prototype, not the finished product that's been for sale for some time now. That said, $1600 is out of reach for a lot of people.
The bag looks very nice. I’m not a fan of the logos at all, and $1600 is ludicrous. I know people will say “ yeah but quality costs money” . Yes it does, and I don’t mind paying for it. What I do mind however is paying through the nose for quality and getting shafted on functionality. That is an overnight bag at best. To me, it’s not worth the price for something only big enough to carry a change of clothes and a toothbrush.
This looks to be a very well thought out and made well, the only thing that bothers me besides the web site on the strap is the cheap buckles used on the straps. For a $1,600 bag you would think the they would use top quality hardware on every part of the bag, which makes me wonder if they are using jiffy snaps

Half-assed durability. They did not double stitch the seams. Reinforcing the rivet points is all well and good, but the structure of the bag itself is not reinforced. I hate the big url on the handle. Looks like they took a Tandy saddlebag pattern and added some side pockets and bottle holder. I'm a leatherworker. I would never charge that much for a bag this size.
I live in Seattle, and have seen quite a few of these bags floating about, but I must say that the bags made by saddleback are MUCH better made, more comfortable, have more useful pockets, have better straps,and better overall fit and finish then the ones made by moose leather.
Interesting design. I like the simple interior. The only thing I don't like is the blaring logos. I prefer indiscreet logos on the interior; the outer logos detract from the design making it look too busy. Would like to see this on a model for the way the item sits on the back with the straps.
I'm a leather crafter (hand sewn), and I don't care much for machine stitched anything, but this is a well made bag and should last a lifetime if cared for...solid.

I LOVE that bag!! I am a woman and would carry that for sure! I would not call it a man's bag. It is masculine but versatile enough for anyone. My yoga mat and kids nap mat will both attach perfectly, while still having enough room for all my "mom gear" I have to carry daily, all while providing two ways to carry it hands-free!! IT IS PERFECT!! I am ordering it today. The only thing you failed to discuss is measurements and weight. I know you said it is "heavy" but have you ever carried a mom purse? I wanted to know the weight to know if your "heavy" is truly heavy or simply solid construction. And, I wanted to know the measurements to know if it will make my butt look smaller lol.

I'd really rather not have a big fat url stamped into my bag. Even if it just said "The Leather Shop" it would be better. Luis Vuitton gets away with it because that's actually a nice sounding/looking name.
