He is absolutely a force of genius nature. This was recorded in an old mansion that is now rented out as a venue. He and Kathy had it for five hours and had to be finished on time. He did not want to pay the extra fees. It was just him and Kathy there that day.
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's epic Christmas release. I have run out of superlatives! A five octave vocal range is a powerful thing. I enjoy the way Geoff arranges music nearly as much as his vocals. We owe Kathy big time for getting Geoff to do this one! Looking like it will reach over 1M views on YT before Christmas! Judging by his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage!
EPIC PERFORMANCE!!!! Make sure you are strapped in for this one. Did you notice the cover artwork? Geoff had his way with those bells and the artwork shows the aftermath. Brilliant cover. Great, great reaction. TY
"I'll be in my bunk." LOL, are you allowed to say that for a Christmas song? I won't argue with you, this was so good. Nice comment about how that rolling background bass ties the whole thing together. Subbing for more VoicePlay and Geoff reactions. Happy holidays!
History kick: """Carol of the Bells" is a popular Christmas carol, which is based on the Ukrainian New Year's song "Shchedryk". The music for the carol comes from the song written by the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914; the English-language lyrics were written in 1936 by Peter Wilhousky.."" Five Jeff's, ok. You could use them for cleaning or something...😁
I LOVE this rendition more than any other I've ever heard or performed myself! LOL Like you, I find myself conducting every time I sing like he does here (and honestly in most of his videos!) because I've been a choral director for so long! I am, of course, like everyone else, addicted to the depths of his voice but I love his upper registers too! And I LOVE the last time he sings the "o'er hill and dale" passage because of the lusciously unexpected chord progression. I just can't quit this!🥰
Had fun watching you watch the two end to end... and yes, he has a lot of fun. No, they rarely use greenscreen because it is easier for him to reference the other "Geoffs" with a physical set.
I'm glad you mentioned Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The first time I heard this, I thought it had a bit of a TSO feel, or influence. Particularly with the backing tracks. Did you get that as well? I could SEE that you thoroughly enjoyed Geoff's complete re-make of this classic. Great reaction! Merry Christmas!

there's actually no greenscreen work, this was a physical set. it's just clever video editing 🙂

they did an amazing job
Pretty epic, eh? That arrangement! Not to mention the compositon, the instrumentation, the video execution, the mixing, the editing . . . . Thanks!!!
We just need the right movie to go with it! Awesome take on the Carol of the Bells ... cathedral bells version!

Did you know that Geoff has released a CD called Dusty Old Songs?
no i did not
Yes - bad-ass version is the correct description 😉🌹🕊
Geoff turned the Carol of the Bells into a version you have never heard before. Just epic.
A serenade by dragons in the belfry of a cathedral!
"I'll be in my bunk"....LOVE IT!

Geoff uses all five octaves that he has access to with his voice. Like a boss.
