If you look close you'll see a tiny bit of black on top so it's definitely an ultra ball. Also it's not fuzzy because of compression, it's fuzzy because it got resized poorly. The original image is only 64 x 64 pixels.

0:25 Wikstrom also uses these yellow Poké Balls. They're in his official art, X and Y model, and even his Masters model.

Man I wish more pokeballs were available in mainline games. The amount of creativity one can have with pokeball and pokemon pairings would be astronomical.
When doing research for this video, there was quite a few times I was wishing we had them in the main games. The evil teams having their own custom balls would be such a fun detail.
@@Turtle-Soup I love the dark ball that was used by the villain in the Celebi 4 ever movie. It made pokemon go immediatly to the highest level and turned them into dark version of themselves. I still think that's cool to this day. I don't like what he did to Celebi despite thinking the dark balls are cool and i'm glad Celebi turned out alright and recovered. Just Imagine if the people using the shadow pokemon in the shadow pokemon gamecube games threw out their shadow pokemon with dark balls instead of normal pokeballs
For anyone else curious about why decal is being pronounced that way, it's a regional thing.

Also, as for the Ancient Ball found at 7:19. There are multiple Ancient Balls 6 of them in total that contains the Six Heroes that belonged to Lucius. Also, Roy isn’t the only wielder of these Ancient Balls, currently Liko wields 3 and Roy wields the Rayquaza Ancient Ball

Glacia is actually supposed to be holding an Ultra Ball. The sprite is just kinda messy.
I always thought about how pokeballs seem to just return to trainers in battles when in actuality you’d probably have to walk over and get it. So I thought it would be cool if they were kinda like yo-yos. You can throw the ball and the wire can will retract after the Pokémon is sent out

I kind of wish they would allow the dark ball in Pokémon Go. The ability to turn any Pokemon into a shadow Pokémon would be awesome.

@@KreepyKat911 Not really. When you transfer Pokemon, they are unalived for the candy. I also like the idea of the player IRL being able to choose whether they are a hero, anti-hero, or villain. I would consider myself in the game an antihero.

Is Glalcia’s ball not just an ultra ball? It’s not a perfect sprite of an ultra ball but it sure seems like that’s what they were going for.

Always wanted the crystal pokeballs from the entei movie in an actual game, when i saw terra pokemon for the first time i was hoping we would get something like it to catch em in like how ultra beasts have beast balls.

A weird potential honorable mention (cause tbh idk where else they could go) couldve been the mysterious artifacts from the ep the ancient puzzle of pokemopolis where two artifacts contained a giant gengar and giant alakazam, i guess its a little unclear if theyre supposed to be real pokemon or not tho

Those are what I thought of and yeah they were relics I believe a spoon and a vajra, and Bigglypuff used a bell as a microphone.
Deckle is a pretty common pronunciation depending on where you're from, and it's closer to the word it originated from (décalomanie, pronounced day-cal-oh-mah-nee)
I like to think that the villainous team balls, if they were able to be used by the player in the main series games, would have a greater catch rate against pokemon notably used by that team (For example, the Aqua Balls would be proficient at catching the Sharpedo and Mighteyena evolutionary lines) and would have normal catch rates otherwise.
One you missed that showed up in both the anime AND games is fishing poles with Pokeballs on the end of the line, almost like lures. The Fisherman class has it in their sprites in some gens, and there was even a trainer in the anime that sent out a Kingdra i believe using a rod when he fought Ash in a competition during the Johto arc.
I cannot believe I forgot about the fishing pole. Easily the most iconic form of a trainer modifying their ball in some form
Watching this and the previous ball video back to back and I'm kinda disappointed the messed up Ruby and sapphire pokeball sprites weren't mentioned. The ultra ball sprite in those games has inverted markings. All of them look really weird and I'm glad emerald had resprites for them
U didn’t mention how the yellow pokeball in glacial’s art became the item ball and also the lake ball could be a lure ball variant too

Pokémon Conquest isn't a mainline game and has a interesting "catching mechanic"...
For some reason whenever someone mentions Pokeballs outside the games, I ALWAYS, without fail, think of the Dark Ball first. Maybe because of its unique design and the awful things it does to Pokemon. Also I saw the Celebi movie as a kid so it stuck with me more I guess. I kinda wish they would appear again.
It is definitely one I think of more than the others. 4ever is easily a top 5 Pokémon movie for me.
@@Turtle-Soup Definitely had one of the most menacing villains, and the twist with who Sam grew up to be was really cool. I remember when the movie came out on DVD it came with a special Suicune card. I still have that card to this day, it's one of my favorites.

This was a very cool and detailed dive into the nom game pokeballs, very fun watch, great job man. My only critique would be you seemed to be speaking pretty fast, and while I am sure that helped make the video not drag on too long, it was just a little jarring jumping between balls so quickly. But like I said, it still was a very fun watch

Oh weird, my earlier comment isn't here any more. I found the manga on mangadex and skimmed through it, the flare balls are on page 25 of volume 2, chapter 15, top right panel.
