Great review. I know this is for hunting but it got me thinking about maybe I can use it for work. Google Maps has property lines on it. In some places I have to work up close to a property line but not cross the property line. Can I use this LRF to range to a tree and see where that tree is located relative to a property line? So I don't cross it? Thanks

Hello, the clear option in the Kilo 1000 Razdem program, the distance meter can no longer connect, please guide me, what should I do, in the Basm App program, it does not calculate the height above sea level, what can I do to make the settings OK?

Man, I'm not a hunter, I'm a PRS shooter...But, if I did hunt this would be a must have. Amazing technology and that mapping feature is unbelievable.

You better read and understand Sigs warranty before you purchase any of their electro optics. Here is the deal: Sig touts a lifetime warranty. The truth is they only warranty the internal main "opponents for five years. Sig knows damn well their electro components on their range finders have a five year life expectancy. They go out and become useless and then you are stuck with a dead black brick. You think you have a warranty and in reality you don't shit. When you call Sig about an issue the first thing they ask for is the device serial number. The number is on the box. The last alpha letter tells the date of manufacture. Yeah, the warranty is based on this obscure information. Worse yet you may well have purchased a device that has been on a wholesalers shelf for a year or more. I had a Kilo2000 that I purchased from a major wholesaler go dark in 2022. I called it in to find the device was manufactured in in2014. I purchased the range finder in 2017. A full three years into Sig's bullshit warranty. I venture to say NO ONE KNOWS THE MANUFACTURE DATE BUT SIG. The point here is CAVEATE EMPTOR. This is a deceptive practice by any standard. You will not know it until you are ensnared. You should further be aware those devices will fail over time. SIG DAMNED WELL KNOWS IT, TOO.

Great video! Can the 3K connect to a Kestrel? For the life of me, I cannot seem to get mine connected and cannot find a lot of information on it. Any guidance is appreciated! Thx.
Dave, from the Kilo3K manual on page 10: "Applied Ballistics External (BDX-X) allows the KILO to be paired with an external Kestrel Elite". Also, check out the bottom of page 48 of the manual in the FAQ section for more advice on helping the 2 devices work together. Hope that helps!
@@EastmansHuntingJournals Thanks for the help. For some reason, my Kilo was locked to something else and the Kestrel kept seeing it as such and I could not pair it. I first just turned Bluetooth off on my phone as I thought it was locked to my device. Even then, it still kept saying it was locked. So, I removed the battery from the Sig to try and reset it (could not see in the app or device settings where to reset it). After it sat for about 30 seconds, I added the battery back in, powered it, and it was able to pair it (no more lock)!
Will the 3k get drop pin capability by maybe a software update?
Base maps will get you a heading with any rangefinder. They don t have to connect to do it. You can manually enter the yardage.
I got the KILO3K and it's a battery glutton! Just trying to set it up with the supplied battery died

How does the Kilo 8k work with its included wind meter?
And why the hl don't they put a wind meter right into the rangefinder, I need a hand to hold a rifle, a hand to hold a rangefinder, a hand to hold a wind meter, a hand to hold the smartphone... oh, wait, do I need to be an alien to use it? Wind meters are like $16 on Amazon, why don't they put them into rangefinders or scopes?

Well states like colorado u can not use a scope that has all that built in. They are considered "smart rifles". So the scope called the burris eliminator CAN NOT be used in colorado. And that does everything that u want it to. It range's ur range and displays yardage in the scope and will give u the wind and elevation hold.
@@tonybundy9393 I know about scopes. If the purpose is hunting, better to have the scope light. But it should be at least in the rangefinder.

Is it works with kilo1800 also or not ?
@hamid9532 it does work with Basemap. You'll need the Basemap app and use your phone app as the azimuth, whereas with the Kilo K-series you wouldn't need to use the app for your azimuth. Thanks for asking!

I'm 50.Feel lucky to have experienced a simpler time .Younger people grew up knowing nothing but video , & constant tech.Right or wrong ,I'm teaching my 9 year old the same way I was taught.I admit this is a little bit !pre of a rant than a comment.The genie is out of the bottle & not going back in any time soon.Someone pls use that range finder to put a hole in that genie.putting this thing down now..pretty day out side.good day for a nature walk..take care out there.Deer population around Sandhills of NC seems like it is a little much last few years. Fawns all year.gettem all!

I would at least like to have a Range finder That will work too to at least 500 yd on a deer And tell me what the hold over is So I can practice with my own scope But if it has arc it will help with Bow hunting too Everyone's telling me go vortex I have tried 5 vortex range finders I have tried 5 vortex range finders I have been a dedicated by the 100 for over 40 years I can walk off 30 yd within a yard or 2 But the vortex is always 8 to 10 yd off and And they say it's because it's inside and they won't let me try it outside I have got to try the buckmaster sig sauer I have got to try the buckmaster sig sauer and outside I walk it off with in a yard but it was a combo 3x9x50 not what a wanted

I have watch z few videos on the Whiskey 3 and the buck masters And the guys using them said they had their guns cited in at a 100 yd 2 of them could barely put 5 bullets in a paper plate So the scope has me scared that was a whiskey 3 Basically the same thing with the buck master I know they're inexpensive I'm disabled and can't spend a lot of money but I would like to replace my scope to technology sounds fantastic I'm looking for something in the 3x12 x44 or a 4x14x 44 combo but I just can't fine one. Now I live close to Gainesville Fl 17 miles from there bass pro shop and ones know any about scopes there I was going to but the Whiskey 3 until I watch the review the boy did And if the scope will not shoot any better than what he did there's no way I could buy it I have sent sig Messages and I have never got a response I'm gonna try to call them on the phone I had the money to get it now I have to save backup Because of truck and house issues But I am going to Indiana next year a very good friend is paying for me to go on a rifle hunt I need to know will the whiskey or whiskey or buckmasker Hold up to a 7 mm mag And I am an avid Bo hunter so I really like the arc feature in the range finder. SIG SEUER.SENT me a scope if you want a real review or at least help me fine a 4x14x44
Riton, primary arms, and vortex make great scopes under $300 that work great with high recoil platforms.
