@@turbomustang8417 It's actually NOT designed into the system. It's a default result of the systems design. Steel acts like a spring and every type of structure has a degree of flexibility that you cannot get away from. It always a compromise between how much you want the structure to weight vs how much flexibility you're willing to tolerate vs how much stress the structure can accommodate safely.

This would be great for a home mechanic, the only downside I see is if you need to lift the body off like what needs to be done with pickup trucks today to get to the engine. It doesn't lift straight up, which is the same issue I have with my lift I have now. Might work OK if just lifting a few inches to replace the body mounts, but wont work if doing engine work.

Idk... I would have to see just exactly what the safety features are on it-- like the ratcheting safety lock stand. I bet the specs aren't much different than a stationary lift and with the way center mass sits forward in lift position basically using the vehicle's weight to pinch the lift to the ground, like a fulcrum, it would create stability in the elevated platform itself. With the ratcheting lock stand it appears to hard-lock itself in position vs depending on just the hydraulics themselves, which I like the idea of-- the only thing I think that I would add is a couple of simple ratchet straps to secure it to the lift stands just to make sure a vehicle that was slightly off center couldn't walk itself out of position on the stands if someone was being aggressive on a rusty, stuck bolt like older vehicles tend to have on them. If it folds up easily, that lift could be very helpful to smaller racing crews, on-site repairman and some service technicians (for example tire changers that work out of open lots since they don't have to raise the vehicle all that much). The biggest thing I think anyone would have to watch for during use would be to ensure that it was set up for operation on flat, level ground which a couple of a built-in level vials (along with a set of built-in screwjacks on the base) could possibly help indicate, including safety shading that would tell the operator when the floor is too angled for safe operation. Apart from that I think I wouldn't mind trying it out if I ever needed a vehicle lift. It's rather ingenious and practical really-- if the price is reasonable ...

I am not constipated enough to work under a vehicle lifted by one of these. 3.5t isn't a whole lot. Almost any sedan is close enough to trigger an accident if the jack or safety mechanism can't support 80% of rated weight for any reason.

Jaa, this is good. Cool hoist. We need this kind of tools on the other side of the big pond - seems like American ingenuity kind of sucks lately. We use German made Hofmann hoist and other garage machinery on daily basis and thanks to free trade with EU we can get finally good quality parts for European made cars.
