An ace bike. Had mine for 6 months and 5k miles in all weathers and love it. A few add on’s to make it a bit more mine too. Only observation is that the chain seems to be made of cheese so will change it for something better at the first annual service. Nice review. Thank you.
I've paid my deposit on a Monster Plus today, its going to be my first big bike and a cant wait to get on it, definitely going to head towards Cheddar Gorge. thanks for the review
Thanks for the review! Shortens the wait for mine a little bit. LED indicators come as standard, at least in Germany. And the rear indicators also sweep :).
Been waiting for this review and as enjoyable as ever 😃 glad you came to same conclusion as me, its a fantastic bike, great to ride and sporty enough. Thoroughly enjoy mine and would recommend to anyone. Get the bellypan, radiator grill and heated grips if you can, well worth it 👍
Cool review. I was in my local Ducati dealer at the weekend and a lady was picking her new Monster up, it looked stunning. I am currently looking for my first big bike after hopefully passing my test in June, and I’ve currently got my heart set on a Honda CB650R Naked.. but then I saw this at the Bike show and on YT and it really is tempting to ‘upgrade’ the Honda I don’t own and go for this instead. Either would be amazing, I am sure 😂
Monster or street triple? Are they big enough for someone 6 foot. Best 700/900cc bike without a screen that’s big enough?? I’ve been looking at Multistrada, Tracer , Tiger 660 but so many reviews criticise the screens (buffeting)
I’m about to become that biker that I used to take the piss out of, getting back in the saddle after over 10 years at 41! Choices are this or a Street Triple RS… what do you think!! Great review…
Tim, thanks for very nicely done review. Makes me want to get one - would be trading a 2021 striple rs which I like a lot, for the monster, . And probably have to do it without the benefit of a demo ride on the monster, hard to know???
Oof that's a tricky one John. I love the Street RS. You might miss the directness/sportiness of the chassis - the monster's definitely softer (though there is a Monster SP coming). It's one of those swaps where you really want to try the Ducati - it'll feel pretty agricultural compared to your Triumph, as well as a fair bit softer. Speed-wise it'll feel gruntier, but without the top-end.
Nice, not sure about the range though. Every month or so i have 425km round trip and while filling up twice is not a problem. The lack of cruise control might be. Otherwise might be the one. Currently ride a my17 R1200R.Thanks for your thoughts
@@barracuda017 meh, I've ridden it a while ago. And it's a fun bike. But it just doesn't feel up to par. Still has that shaking under 3000rpm, and it's still nigh impossible to find neutral 🤣. On a sidenote, it is a very beautiful bike though
@@stefaandeswert377 lots of choices,, the other one I'm considering is the new Yam XSR900, but, like the monster, there are none available to even look at where I am, Tucson, AZ
Tim, nice one. I'm in the market for something slightly different. What do you and others think about the Diavel. It's ugly but in an interesting way. By all counts it rides well? Any feedback would be welcome. ATVB
I'm a big fan of the Diavel. Other than the Rocket there's not much like it. Only thing is it kills the base of my spine on bumpy roads because the suspension seems to go straight into your perineum… but the engine and chassis are brilliant.
Duke 890R for me. Depends on your use - if you only go out for warm-weather Sunday blasts then the KTM. If you use your bike for more all-round things then the Ducati
Before anyone points it out, I realise that £11,000 isn't really that affordable. But in terms of non-Scrambler Ducatis, it is. So ner.
….I love it! How would you compare it to eg. a Speed Twin from Triumph?

Got the Monster + on Saturday, and after four days of riding I am not disappointed.

Thanks Gabby!
My wife has one and she's now, quote: "so over Harley Davidsons"!
This pleases me greatly. I think Ducati should put this line on an advert

which belly pan did you go with? i went with the evotech radiator grill and am looking at a couple different belly pans.
@@soyboi_gx i got all Ducati accessories, didn't look elsewhere. Ordered when i ordered the bike, so dealer fit for free
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, the official bellypan looks good
My wife added all those bits, plus the Termi slip-ons because 'they look nice'. That £11K bike then became a £13K bike ....
@@judebikedude6379 how much is the ful Tetmi exhaust? It sounds so good

I was thinking about mt-09 too

Nice review. I’m toying between this or an MT09.
Thanks! I need to see if Yamaha will let me have a go on the MT-09...
Xsr900?
Can you please do a review of the Ducati urban Motard when it becomes available? I’m very interested in that bike.... thanks!
Hi Tim, How does it compare to a 2017 1200S and is there a remus exhaust available that would be loud enough to upset some Polizei?
Hahahaha. Yeah I'd say it's about half as loud as yours was. Better at overtaking on solid whites though

There won't be any regrets for either one, The ride both, see which one gives you a bigger smile 😁
Can you stick any luggage on it?
Super useful review. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Ta for watching
A nice machine on my favourite road, between The Super Sausage and home..
Such a good road! I love going to visit Ducati/KTM/Aprilia because I always end up on those roads

Great looking and sounding bike.
Hi there been looking at these. I’m 6ft 5 so think it will be a good fit. Would you recommend this as a first bike?
I absolutely would. Try one though - at your height you might feel comfier on a bigger adventure-style bike like a Multistrada V2...
I would recommend something else at your height. It’s a pretty small bike. You may really enjoy an adventure bike
Great review!
Thanks Pete!

Trying to decide between the Monster + and the new Street Triple??? Had a 675 previously but just dont know!! Any thoughts??
Kind of torn between this monster, the Aprilia Rs660, duke 890r and the street triple RS. Can't decide at all
I have 2021 street triple rs, and like it a lot, no complaints, but I'm seriously considering the new monster, It looks like a blast!

It's a V2 yes
I'd probably go for the V2. I like the sportier feel
I think Mark was asking about whether I'd pick the Monster or the V2 Streefighter :D
