As much as I felt sorry for them, I felt sorry too for the poor kid Jason :(. Murdered when he's only 6 years old, doesn't even have the opportunity to visit his grandparents the next day. They all don't deserve this. No one does
Whats wrong with people that they leave a 6 year old alone what do they expect idc that he knows where to go and stuff he is 6 literally anything can happen to him
@@charlesroseman9466 they were talking about Jason's parents, I think. My siblings (12, 11 and 7) are allowed to play in the street too without supervision because we know most neighbours, it's scary to think you can't even play outside without the possibility of being abducted/killed...
@@chipgoat516 I mean this was in the 80s. Some parents had let their children play out on the streets alone or go out by themselves with their friends because I think there wasn’t a lot of crime back then (or mainly it wasn’t reported a lot).
The worst part of Jason being killed is that if he had just left Jason alone Jason probably wouldn’t have had good enough descriptions for them to be found. He was 6. He probably would have been confused by the whole situation and barely been any help to the investigation, they already knew what Mary’s car was. Rest In Peace baby Jason.
I was thinking the same thing. He was far too young to give any truly helpful information to the police. Probably all that he would have told his parents is that he saw a woman and girl tied in in a trunk. That wouldn't give the police a lot to go on. So sad. I can't imagine the heartache of his parents when they learned that Mary and Beth had been found, but that little Jason was not with them.
That poor little girls heart probably dropped to her stomach when those boys didn't believe her when she asked for help. All glimmer of hope for escape, just came and went in an instant. Glad they survived and RIP to the poor, innocent, little boy who was in just being a curious little boy and saw something he shouldn't have. People are frickin crazy.
I have had this happen to me as a child. I was beaten and abused by my own father and at school when another kid saw the bruises on my arms and legs and asked me "What happened?' I told him "My dad did this." He then laughed at me and went "Dad's don't do that." I sat there for five minutes kinda perplexed at what I could do after that. It was a catholic school, and the head nun found out and she helped me out, fixed me up and told me. "God doesn't stand by this behavior." Regardless my dad rocked up into church at the school the following weekend for mass and I kinda gave up on God. When I turned to my mum after I went "Mum I don't wanna go to church anymore." and she went "Okay." The only time I enter a church now is for a wedding or a funeral, but I won't do it.
Maybe there was some divine intervention for those boys to not believe Beth. Perhaps if they had helped at that moment Ming might have killed all of them if they didn't get far. I truly believe things happen for a reason. That moment was probably not the safest moment. It would have been tragic if these boys got killed like Jason had. @@jailah2pimp I think this is a case of Monday morning quarterbacking. Like, we as adults who listen to stories about abductions and true crime have this mindset where you should probably question everything to a degree. But as teenagers? I can't speak for us all, but how many absolute bullshitters did we know? I think most teens are naturally cynical because they are always surrounded by other teenagers that are trying to figure out who they are. Teens in the age of the immediately accessible internet would probably think twice if they were already exposed to this information, but even then I don't expect teens to fully grasp and comprehend the gravity of a situation they could find themselves in. I hope my daughter would tell me if some kid told her she was kidnapped, because as an adult I know I can think rationally and investigate the situation or inform proper law enforcement. I remember walking with my 13 year old daughter and a man was standing there "pleasuring" himself to the left of us. I told her keep her eyes straight and if he grabs me to run until she KNEW she was safe. I told her, I've lived my life and I would be destroyed if anything happened to her. This just makes me more aware of my surroundings.
How he could just talk to her like it’s any other phone call just breaks my heart… the amount of fortitude that man had to hold it together for her sake is awe inspiring. And to pull it off seamlessly after just being blindsided by her voice, is even more amazing…. The panic, the joy, the fear, the anger, and the elation hitting him all at the same time, at the same moment, and still switches instantly to caring father tone… I know I wouldn’t have been able to hold it together in that moment.
This is so shocking. Elizabeth and my Mother were childhood friends, she taught my mom how to ride a bike when they moved to the Philippines. Elizabeth and Sister Mary knew my Mother as Girlie or Grace and my Mom lived with them for a month or two when they were in Dumagete, Philippines. My Mom told me that Sister Mary would always kiss her and Elizabeth's forehead before tucking them to bed while her husband stands at the doorway. They would always read stories to Steve before he sleep. Sister Mary treated my Mom as her daughter and she wanted to adopt her but my grandfather (Mom's dad) opposed because he wanted his children to be complete. Sister Mary told my Grandfather that they were kidnapped before, my Mom heard it but she doesn't know what the word "Kidnapped" means because she was so young and she wasn't that fluent in English. Mom even told me that Sister Mary and Elizabeth spoke fluent Tagalog and Bisaya. If any of you reading this know where or how to contact them, please tell me because my Mom wanted to know if they're doing well and, also to Thank them for letting her live in their house and treating her good💜😭😭✨✨✨✨

All of these horrific stories are just heartbreaking. What I noticed though is that they always say something like: “he abducted the ‘wrong‘ person“. There is no right or wrong person for a crime… that‘s so weird to hear. What they actually mean is: “the criminal was foolish enough to believe their victims weren‘t brave enough.“ They were the right people to put an end to it, but other than that, nobody is right or wrong and nobody deserves anything like this. And sadly, for that little girl it was. THAT'S the horrible part, especially to then LAUGH at her for it. I understand not wanting to be involved and that nobody wants to believe bad things can happen to or around them but from a young age you are taught "See something, say something". Those teens didn't say anything. Didn't even ask questions. That little girl could've lost her life because of that and there is no excuse for it simply because you're a teen. It's a mistake I'm sure they now regret but that's exactly why I'm saying this should be a lesson to anyone not to make the same mistake because it could have *IRREPARABLE* consequences and being a young adult simply isn't a good enough excuse. For something so blatant, even teens should know better. I would understand if they were pre-teens because at that age that you still live in a bubble and belive in Santa. Teens are different.
He wanted an excuse to kill. Rest in Peace, sweet boy.
The saddest part is that if Jason was a girl, he would’ve kept him alive so he could SA him.
A six year old would be able to remember inciminating evidence ..also the guy is asian as heck hed at least have said that.
Poor sweet boy
That poor little girls heart probably dropped to her stomach when those boys didn't believe her when she asked for help. All glimmer of hope for escape, just came and went in an instant. Glad they survived and RIP to the poor, innocent, little boy who was in just being a curious little boy and saw something he shouldn't have. People are frickin crazy.
Shame on anyone that ignores the cries of a helpless child.
My heart goes out to that little boy who was just riding his bike and was in the wrong place at the wrong time! RIP Jason!

I think most teens are naturally cynical because they are always surrounded by other teenagers that are trying to figure out who they are. @@jsas2047 depends if they were near a phone or even had the money to use one. Easy to judge when we weren't there.
@@rubyshoes1032 we can only judge from the information we have. The information we have is "they laughed and told her to stop making up stories" and the fact that no police was called, not even at a later time when they got home or smth. Now you can defend them based on nothing and make up random excuses, but since there isn't anything to make me doubt this information i will continue to judge them based on it. Based on the information what they did was very wrong.
Did you notice how her daughter asked if an angel would open a door for them and He opened the door for them so easily? Praise God!
How was he able to attack her in the court room…very disturbing!
But parents of victims are ALWAYS restrained.
right? W T F. how is a guy that's been incarcerated have a KNIFE on him in a courtroom? they glossed over it, but he could have easily slit her throat. unfreaken believable he got to her in a COURTROOM...SMH.
Hmm.. and no one sued the court for failing to protect them?
How did they allow him to get close to her in the court room ?
Absolutely shocking
I genuinely can’t imagine. The emotions of “oh my god, my baby is alive” mixed with “dear god I need to get them back and get them safe” mixed with sheer relief, mixed sheer panic, but you’re talking to your obviously frightened young child and want to keep them calm and not upset them, so you, while entirely mentally self destructing, you must speak calmly and no cry or get upset. It’s wild and I don’t know how he pulled it off. The only thing I can think of, is he was so afraid for his children that it almost forced him to respond that way.
His breathing shows that he's absolutely crumbling... somehow manage to try to not show it in his voice, wow...
I have a feeling those teens who laughed and ignored Beth, would've felt awful when this case went live... I know I would've
Wow that phone call must have been the hardest thing this dad has ever had to do 😢😢 omg he stalked her for 10yrs 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ he’s seriously sick 🤬
the phone call broke my heart. the dad was so scared for his daughter and wife and i can’t imagine what he felt like through all those days.
You can hear his voice trembling while trying to keep composure, god how horrible
This entire family is the epitome of love and strength! Their faith in one another and God is astounding!!!!
He saved them
Poor Jason 🙏🏾 R.I.P 😢 you would’ve been 46-47 with a family and everything, it’s sad that was taken from you, Mary & Beth are remarkable
This is one of the best survival documentaries I've ever heard. These 2 women are so brave and strong. When you go through things like this, it really does make you stronger and there right, you can't let it define your life growing up, I was abused in every way a child can be abused, but you don't have to let it define your life or your future, you can leave it in the past where it belongs and move on. Don't stay a victim, the rest of your life become a survivor when you do that, the people who hurt you don't have anymore power over you, I'm so proud of these 2. They're what we need for our future of survivors we need to stand up and tell our stories, and to let other people know that no matter what you go through, you can overcome it, I honestly love how strong they are. I'm so glad that he got life in prison no parole, that is amazing, and now they can sit back and relax because he's going to pay for what he's done I'm so happy for this mom and daughter..
Can we just say how brave the dad was on the phone you could hear the relief in his voice .. my heart goes out to them
"are u okay" melted my heart...God bless you family
Those teenagers were horrible to laugh at a little girl claiming to be kidnapped!! They saw her and did nothing! Even if is a false alarm and the kid was just upset with their parents, wouldn't you wanna make sure that was the case?? She could've been killed and they laughed. HORRIBLE. I hope this is a lesson that when u see someone in need, no matter what you should call for help
Keep in mind these are teens. Literal minors. Of course they are going to think its a lie- To blame literal minors just chilling on a normal day and calling them horrible because they didnt believe a little girl saying she was kidnapped is putting the responsiblity of an adult on kids-
A lot of teens are pos. Just like the general population. It gets slightly better but me too exists cuz of this general pos culture. Don't make excuses for them.
@@alemonyoyo69420 ^^ this
You should be calling the criminal horrible not the kids that don't know anything
@@alemonyoyo69420 It's not an excuse. Teens are soon-to-be adults and they're fully capable of understanding what anyone is saying. Even some adults would've done the same thing as them so thats no excuse. They didn't want to believe it because they were scared to be involved if it was true. I was a teenager 4 years ago and I would've called the cops. That's all they had to do was call. They're old enough to understand actions, consequences, and mistakes.
@@randomonessb3302 Dude this is all just assumption on your part. You are ASSUMING they believed this crying little girl and ASSUMING they were scared to not be involved. As a teen myself, little kids annoy me, and I don't believe what they say ever. I always think they're playing some game! If a kid ran up to me and told me a kid hit her, I'd believe her, but something like kidnapping is out of the realm of an average teen! A little too unbelievable- You are expecting far too much of these kids and teens in general to comprehend a situation as grave as that-
Astonishing story. How the heck did Ming get a knife in a courtroom? Geeze. How did they get the knife away from him only cutting her face? So many questions.
Looks like he used a jagged butter knife and it's not very sharp like some other knifes.
Probably tazed him from behind.
@@chriselias3881 Tasers weren’t introduced until 1993. The events in this story happened in 1980.
I need to stop watching these, they get my brain to think of all the worst possible scenarios. But I love these because these people are so strong!
Mary and Beth are so brave. They’re so powerful. At 8 years old it’s shocking that Beth knew what to do. And I can’t believe how calm irv was
The fact that both mother and daughter had each other probably helped keep their sanity.
these two have a true mother daughter bond being together and going through so much together
Being stalked for 10 years and not knowing until he abducts them. Wow! A mind-blower. Thankfully Mary and Beth came out of it alive!
I can't imagine the absolute sheer terror of being kidnapped and locked in a house tied up. What amazingly strong women. Glad this man never got released, he's pure evil! 😔
How in the world was he able to come into a court room with a knife?? AND be close enough to get to her and cut her face open?? What in the hell?!!
Poor Irv to be able to keep his composure when hearing his daughters voice after she was kidnapped weeks before. I feel so bad for Jason and his family he did nothing except see something that he should not have it is absolutely sick what happened to that little boy he didn't deserve any of that.
What a strong family!
I’m so glad that Mary and her husband stayed together.
So often you hear the split up after something so terrible.
Not only a story of hope, courage, strength, but of true love!
Oh my god that phonecall, the father must’ve been so emotional getting that call and then having to end the call, it must’ve felt like losing her all over again, im so happy they were reunited
Mary is so strong! I love the wisdom she says "He doesnt get another day" and "You can even leave the resentment behind" . Wonderwoman❤
so inspirational that Beth has that mindset of “he doesn’t get one more day of our lives” good for you! so glad they were able to lead happy lives after this terrible experience
A truly amazing story.Justice was done . Their faith gave strength .Wonderful ladies .
Wow what an amazing bond Mary and Beth must have after going through that nightmare together. My heart goes out to the family of the lil boy who's curiousity sadly ended his life. What a case. I'm happy they got to safely live their lives with their captor in jail for life.
