I used Prograss EC. 2 applications in the spring, one in the fall. I'll apply again this upcoming spring. Where i live, northern Ohio, it didn't get hot enough to kill the poa so ur heroes all season long, never dies of. As for the Prograss, i used the minimum rate and I've seen no reduction of or harm to the poa. In the spring i will up the concentration and hope for some impact. Prograss was an expensive investment at around$500 for the 2.5 gallons. The application per 1000 cost was reasonable
Mr. Ferguson - wow! No wonder your lawn looks so amazing. You know all the awesome providers. Been a fan of Pauls for a good while now. Dude is crazy (in a "bery bery bery good" way! You might be old enough to get that reference). I did not know that you are a Veteran. THANK YOU for YOUR SERVICE! And, yes - please read the label! The label is law!!!!!!!
Wow, the Battle continues. I'm very interested in the results of the Poa Constrictor vs what you put down on Mr. Kevins yard. The Poa Constrictor seems to be a lot more technical to apply, i.e. professionally applied etc. In your case you have the experience and the equipment to do it. Me not so much. Thanks, and appreciate the video and your experimental exercises. I'm to the point of deciding what the price point of using/buying all of these equipment/ chemicals are to just be replacing the sections (Poa) with new sod. Your Yard is looking good, and the last mow got rid of all of those nasty leaves. I hope you enjoy the look of all of your time edging, I know what a pain, but it sure looks good, IMO, along the driveway and the sidewalk in front of the house. Love the striping as well.
Good stuff! You should consider buying the Etho 4SC next time though. Exact same product with same active ingredient but costs MUCH less. It’s essentially just the “generic” version. Like buying Meso 4SC instead of Tenacity. Same thing but cheaper since the patent expired
I probably will, but being we have Etho 4 SC down in Mr Kevin’s yard, it was a chance to test a different brand product. We now can run them both and compare, but like you said, should be exactly the same.
The instructions seem almost identical to the Etho4SC. For reference, I put application #2 down yesterday, along with a dose of SeaK. And yes, I used PPE.
On that, my end results were that Tenacity, while on paper a great option, didn't really do anything to defeat poa annua. It turned it white, but big deal...it didn't kill it. Some say multiple apps will, but who wants a white bleached lawn for months to do that, and then it might not even work. Plus, Tenacity label says "suppress poa annua". So we moved on, and honestly Tenacity isn't a product I even really use anymore. Ethofumasate is what we are looking at now, and will be in Fall.
Good video my friend! What's going on with this Poa? I've never had it in the past. Maybe a week after you started making Poa videos, it started to show up. I used Jonathan Green Black Beauty Ultra for overseeding a couple months ago and now I have a decent amount growing in my yard. My wife even noticed it. I wonder if it was mixed in with the grass seed this year. Starting to question some of these products and labeling. I'm seeing varying differences. Well, praise GOD, anyhow! Be blessed!
I don’t wanna say yes and be wrong, but I believe all cool season should be ok. However, as I mention, Google the Poa constrictor label and just browse it to be safe.
I’ve used it once and it helped. Yes it’s safe for kbg as well. Be sure and read the label though. If you are seeing poa now, start applying. 21 days later reapply. Two apps at least. Then you can spray in spring as well.
Hey, I just saw this video pop up on my TV …. Nice hat! I hope the poa constrictor worked out well for you
It did! I think I needed one more app, but it worked well. Will be using it again this year! Glad you spoke about it. Thanks Paul!!
Thanks again for posting this! POA annua has ruined so many lawns and cost people so much money it's ridiculous.
It's a problem, but ultimately it's what challenged me to dig in on how to fix it. It helped start this channel honestly. Thanks Dug E!
@@MrFergusonLawn Thakns, I do that all the time. Best of luck my friend.
That's crazy! I bought this over the holiday after watching PPC's video as well. I do hope it works!
Haha that is nuts. Being he’s so close to me, as I’ve said, I listen to what the pros are doing so yea…I hope it works too!
@@MrFergusonLawn I know he follows the NC State agricultural college studies and notes this often. That ultimately won my trust.

Thanks Cary! Appreciate you watching!

You the man! I think it’s gonna help out a lot.
What was the final results from the Tenacity i get rid of poa?
On that, my end results were that Tenacity, while on paper a great option, didn't really do anything to defeat poa annua. It turned it white, but big deal...it didn't kill it. Tenacity turns cool season grasses white and they stay white for at least a month... looks worse than the poa annua seed heads.
Where did you get it I can't find poa constrictor or etho 4sc online in stock
The link in the description is where I got it. No affiliation with them either. Lawn and Supply I do believe.

Yea, it could be the seed and the small amount of weeds in it. Praise him anyways is right! You can blast them away this spring lol.
is this safe to use on all cool season grass types?
I don’t wanna say yes and be wrong, but I believe all cool season should be ok. However, as I mention, Google the Poa constrictor label and just browse it to be safe.
Doesn't work for poa triv unfortunately
Correct. I wish!
I thought Poa annua was controllable with a pre emergent in the fall? Triv is the real problem weed
Good video, but you say for tall fescue the rate is 3.75oz-1.5oz per 1000, I don’t think that’s correct.
If I did that’s incorrect.
.75 - 1.5 oz per 1000 sq ft.
I think this will not work on bermuda grass
You'd have to read the label and see if it will. Warm season grasses are listed. Look up the PDF online, and see if your grass could use it or not.
Dude my lawn is infested with POA
I was in that same boat at one time.
I assume this will work with Kentucky blue grass? Would you recommend this product?
I’ve used it once and it helped. Yes it’s safe for kbg as well. Be sure and read the label though. If you are seeing poa now, start applying. 21 days later reapply. Two apps at least. Then you can spray in spring as well.
