This is literally the only song in the entire show that stands out to me (except for Total Eclipse Of The Heart since I’ve loved that song even before I knew Tanz existed) and I love the German and Russian versions. Really, this one? =O I think there's actually a bunch of songs in the musical that stand out more than this one ^^ "Garlic" and "Logic" might be my favorites, but I also really like the "Invitation" song that will be in the next animatic. "Never seen" is basically a love song and I was never a big fan of those since they usually are quite generic. But to be fair, this one has a really funny twist with showing what's going on in the house with all the other people too ^^
Count Monsparkle Honestly I have a thing for group numbers in musicals like “Quartet At The Ballet” from Anastasia, “That’s What They Say” from Monte Cristo, “Ich Hab Geträmt von Manderley” from Rebecca, or “Do Me A Favor” from Carrie and this song is kind of in the same vein 😂. I honestly don’t like “Logic” because I think it’s kind of annoying. “Garlic” is good but it’s not very interesting and the same goes for “Invitation”. That’s really how I feel about the musical in general, it’s good and I acknowledge it’s positive points but it has way to many subplots that are either ignored or go unresolved (mainly Krolock and Alfred’s supposed connection) and most of the music while decent isn’t the best. I really love the Red Boots Ballet and the Ball dance sequences though. They were both really well done.
Fair enough, I totally get what you mean. I'm probably a bit biased towards it since it was one of the first musicals I've ever seen live. Also I like the logic song because, as a maths student, that professor guy reminds me a bit of myself x) What do you think of the musical Rebecca btw?
Count Monsparkle I love Rebecca sooooo much 😁😊🤗👍. Don’t even get me started I could go on and on about how much I love Rebecca. It’s kind of like how you feel about Tanz except I’ve never seen it live because I live on the opposite side of the world and sadly it probably won’t go to Broadway for a long time if ever. I feel the exact same thing about “Ich” that you feel about the professor since I suffer from social anxiety and am working to overcome it similarly to how she’s trying to adjust to life Manderley and work up the courage to tell Mrs. Danvers that’s she’s not going to deal with any of her bullshit anymore. Ich has really inspired me to become more confident. Also damn I love the music in that show, it’s simple yet intense and beautiful all at once and it does a great job of telling what each of the characters are going through (even though I think that Sie’s Fort can go fuck itself I won’t deny it does a good job of that, the same can’t be said for I’m An American Women which didn’t really need to be in the show to begin with) and I get really invested in the story every time. I even went as far as to perform “Zeit In Einer Flasche” for a cabaret last week and I really felt like I was “Ich” in those 3 minutes on stage. Hopefully I’ll be able to portray her on Broadway or even in a community production if they ever release the rights to an English version one day. Ok I went a whole rant there but if someone mentions Rebecca I go all out 😂😂😂
Well you might know that Rebecca is my favorite musical ever as well ^^ It has such a deep and touching story that you usually don't get in a musical. And the songs, omg so good and immersive, my favorite being the main theme, "She's invincible" and "I'll never forget her smile". I'm just a sucker for songs with a dark undertone xD Also I never asked, but what was the "production" thing you were talking about in your comment under my Rebecca-Synthesia? Also I hope that performance of "Zeit in Einer Flasche" went well =) I was always hesitant of making more Synthesia-covers for this musical because frankly, I didn't think anyone of my american audience would care, but the fact that I could introduce you to it and you enjoyed it so much makes we want to do more covers too. So when I upload another "Rebecca"-Synthesia, please remember that your enthusiasm just now was a big spur of motivation for me =D
