      @@michaelfusmusic9447 Michael Fu *Pikachu Meme* Thats nice to know, but that doesnt change the fact that toews turned the blackhawks from dead worst to 3 time stanley cup champs. Toews isn't a generational player like crosby who can score score every night, but he was best player when it mattered most.

    • @TheGreatNathan
      @TheGreatNathan 5 років тому +9

      @@michaelfusmusic9447 I never said crosby was any less than toews, in fact I called him a generational player. Is that not enough praise? Your point states the obvious though.
      My point is toews's, talent and leadership played a huge role in leading the blackhawks to 3 cups and team canada to 7 gold medals. People shouldn't critizes him so harshly because he doesnt show it in his stats. But he shows it well on the ice. Toews never tries to be the best player in the league, but he always tried to be the best for his team. Its wrong if people say the blackhawks would be the same without him, he's not the average 60 point player. He brings a lot more to the table than he shows.

    Wow, the Avs play-by-play guy actually gave a player from another team credit for a great goal? He is usually one of the biggest homers in all of hockey broadcasting. When the Avs score he yells so loud you think he may pass out, and when the opposition scores he barely acknowledges it happened. I guess there's a first time for everything.

    If Toews is your favorite player and you can so easily dismiss him as the best all-around player right now, then you know absolutely nothing about hockey. As much as I respect Crosby & Ovechkin, I would have to say that Toews, Datsyuk, & Bergeron are my top 3 all-around players. All 3 have a Selke Trophy, although Datsyuk has 3. All 3 have a Stanley Cup, but Toews and Datsyuk have 2 each. Toews has a Conn Smythe, but Datsyuk and Bergeron each have a Plus-Minus Award. No Hart trophies for any tho

    Ok I'm not gonna deny that this was a great goal, and that was a sick move, and Johnny toews is a fucking beast, but I do have one problem with this. If you notice inthe video, once toews is around the first defender and he's in the middle of 3, he has a clear cut path to the net. Instead of making a move he could have just turned and headed straight up the middle. But he did a awesome move(if slightly pointless)

    @argo987 back to what I was saying Kane got checked a wierd way on the boards and his leg was bent. No matter what type of player you are that has to hurt. You have to have that same mentality for every player in the NHL. Look at Crosby, he got a concusion and has been out for a strech of games. Look at that team without him. Kane has the jump back in his step now and has put 7 points up in 5 games. Toews was also injured, guessed to be out for 2 weeks. He came back in 2 games. That's tough.

  • @MrChicagosports1
    @MrChicagosports1 13 років тому

    @argo987 yes, I did say they are one of the most stacked team in the league and I'm not just saying shit to say shit. I actually meen this because I've been saying this the whole time they havn't hit their prime yet and I'll keep saying that. Also, about what you said that if they're not healthy now haw do you think they'll ever be health. Well, you have to lookat Kane's injury: He got checked a wierd way where his leg was bent the wrong way on the boards. (I'll have to wright another comment)

  • @MrChicagosports1
    @MrChicagosports1 13 років тому

    @argo987 I never think that they are the best players in the league. But they have the potentional of being one of the best. Right now Kane has about 34 points and is finally getting back into his groove and Toews has around 36 points and is getting to the net alot more and using his moves. If you look at the league stats they're about 30th but the point race is soooo tight you wouldn't beleive. The 18th best scorer has only 41 points. Both of them (if they stay heathy) can get back in the race.

    @argo987 you're kinda right but Crosby was put into a little better franchise and so was Ovi and Stamkos already had Vincient L. and St. Loise. Toews and Kane were brought into a franchise that had to start from nothing. And look what those two + help have done for Chicago. I've met people who said those 2 and the Hawks could possibly be a dynasty but that's a little ify. If they can put themselves in the right possition for the post-season they CAN win another one but it's gonna take effort.

    @argo987 it's good to throw all the facts in the mix because facts don't lie. He was also voted the best player on team Canada. CANADA. If you're voted for that you're pretty damn good. How do you think he doesn't have a feel for the game. He's more of a play-maker, he doesn't shoot as much as a player like Kane who is a little more of a sniper. Howare you a fan of the Hawks but still hate these guys. They gave us a Cup after wauting 49 years.

    @argo987 if they're so bad then why are Kane, Toews, Sharp, and Keith in the All-Star game. Also, +/- doesn't always matter, as long as you win your games your good. There's a handfull of great players in the NHL that have an ify +/-. Toews will get alot more points later on in his career. He's only 22 and this is his 4th season. He's not even close to his prime and neither is Kane. I'm not trying to base it off of awards I'm just trying to show what they've acomplished so quickley.

    @argo987 really, last time I checked they had 6 players in the winter olympics.
    Jonathan Toews-Conn Smyth winner, gold metal
    Patrick Kane- Calder Trophey winner, silver metal
    Marian Hossa- 4th place in the plympics
    Brent Seabrook-Gold metal
    Duncan Keith- Defenseman of the year(I forgot what the trophey is called), Gold metal
    Thomas Kopecky- 4th place in the olympis
    Patrick Sharp-3rd in the league in goals
    All of these players are in the allstar game except Tomas Kopecky.
    Get a life.

    not just nashville... florida, tampa,dallas and atlanta dont get very much cold weather/ice... bothers me that cities get hockey were its hot all year around while other cities up north are more deserving...gary bettman needs to get his head out of his ass and market where they CARE about the sport... not just a city where u get the MAJORITY(not all) fans that come see a game once a year.

    You guys need to lower the stupid gene.I am a life long Hawk fan. Tazer is a God send. From Winnipeg.Who cares what country he comes from. I would love Ovie if he played for the Hawk. Sid is the best player and he should be MVP' Tazer is better defensely.I as an American thank all Canadians for all the wonderful humans that play for us.You all should be very proud.Also thanks for training atleast half our gold medal JR team. True north strong free.

    Ovy is at least as popular as Cros. They are just such different players that they can't be compared. Ovy is flash and finish while Sidney is one of the most amazing play makers in the game. If they by some miracle ever ended up playing on the same line... WOOOOO! They preference for one or the other lies in the style of the particular fan and has nothing to do with international boundaries. I can see where your argument is coming from though.

    okay fair enough with the oh mans and what not, but the shit they talk about afterward is just stupid. "that was one of the great...scores?" you mean goals?
    "you got crosby in Pittsburgh....("duh i'm too dumb to know the names of any other young talented players in the league besides crosby so i guess i'll just say him then") you got this kid... c'mon these guys don't even know what they're talking about. Joe Bowen and Greg Millen, they are commentators.

    Nash pulled the same basic inside-outside deke that the Coyotes defenders were too inept to defend against. Toews took on 3 guys (plus had to actually put a move on the goalie) with a series of far more complex dekes: threw a few nice lateral dekes and then pulled off the most ridiculous vertical toe drag I think I've ever seen. Nash looked a bit lethargic compared to Toews. Didn't come with 20sec to win it though.

    Everyone who say the last defender was just standing still does not really understand. The play had become a 2 on 1 . The defence is supposed to stay in the middle and take away the pass .
    No defenceman could have reacted back to Toews after it become apparent he was not going to pass to the winger.
    Toews was just too fast. You simply don't see that kind of stick speed .
    In the World Jr.s, Canada sent him out 3
    times in one shootout- and he scored each time.
    Skills and nerves of steel.

    no such thing as luck buddy, its called Hard Work and Opportunity. If he hadn't tried he wouldn't have scored. He had to have felt the puck on his stick to move it, but yes it was a very low percentage of actually happening.

    toews is definatly one of, if not, the best player all around player in the nhl..i mean, hes an olymic gold medalist, he was named most valuable foward in the olympics, hes a stanley cup champion, and won the conn smyth trophy.. now players like crosby may have more skill, but toews has more heart...so glad hes stayin in chicago for a while....GO HAWKS!!!!

    i said it was a nice goal. but the announcers cream themselves when he does it. the defensman was wayy over to the right of the goalie so the toedrag wasnt even necessary and then the goalie played it like he wasnt even trying and came out so far. its like they let him do it on purpose they were all standing around

  • @honeybobkins

    I'm not pretending, I know for a fact your not NHL material. The left D-man did try to play to play the body. What happened? He got burned, do you have any clue how fast Toews is?
    And yes it would be interference. Your only chance to hit him would have been two feet from the net which means penalty and penalty shot.

  • @liger60408
    @liger60408 14 років тому

    the first d-man tried (you see him miss with the "cross check" motion). Toews was just too quick and was able to side step him towards the inside. The 2nd d-man was defending the pass to the streaking blackhawk on the other side of Toews and tried the "poke check" at the last second, leaving Theodore to play Toews one on one. Pure talent and athletism won out on this play.

    The Canadian BlackHawks
    But we can't truely b the Canadian Blackhawks without Patrick "cab beater/midget" Kane on that team and Dustin Byfuglien.
    Trade Kane for Evander Kane he's Canadian, trade Byfuglien for Ryan Clowe another good ole CANADIAN, does his job but with more offense.

    I'm confident you guys will prevail...Detroit is the model to follow in the NHL and I don't think that'll change just like that. Your draft history is too good and that's what it's all about in the new NHL.

Go Blackhawks!

    Ovechkin's goal isn't anywhere close to this in terms of skill and highlight quality. Toews stickhandles beautifully through the defense at top speed with ridiculous precision. Ovechkin is kind of floating, goes to the backhand, falls down and manages to get off a week shot into an open net. No comparison...

    @jkmille1 the hawks didnt have home tv announcers till the 08-09 season. we (hawks fans) could only find out about the game via radio until then. so i guess the only way to watch home games on tv was from the visiting team's broadcast team. we got lucky here :P

    Great goal. You Blackhawk fans are embarrassing, though...Jumping on the bandwagon pretty bad now that you have a good young team. Where were you when you sucked for the last 10+ years? I'm a Kings fan, and still attend about 10 games a year. (which is a lot for my budget).
