- Dear friends,
This episode, I purposely moved out of Cheras to head to Salak South hoping that more people would watch, because the viewership for all the 3 Cheras features were not encouraging. On the other hand, the features done for the Southern area of KL around Old Klang Road were better received. You’d have to help me out on this, why Cheras being a primarily Chinese area with lots of food to offer cannot attract my regular viewers? Perhaps you guys want me to revisit my old format - The best 8 of… whereby it’s more focused on a specific food or dish. Please give me some feedback so that I can move on. Meanwhile please go out and support the local street food, be it in Salak South or otherwise. Thanks and see you in the next.

I have been patronising Fatty Mok since the 70’s and knew the late Fatty Mok himself. Looked like Santa Claus without the beard and wearing singlet. Their original shop was a wooden shack across Jln Hang Tuah 2. At that time, they specialised in YTF and poached chicken in porridge or curry noodle. These were and still are heavenly. When they moved to the current shop, they introduced more variety but I only go for the original menus - for nostalgia. Well done, Fei Lou Mok!

Again - a very good spread of food ranging from starters ( cucuk udang and it's other fillings ) to mains ( rice dishes , a variety of noodles, kambing curry & roti ...... and many more) to desserts ( bobo chacha , black glutinous rice dessert ........ ) featured in this Salak South episode. Very glad to know that there are still those "Old Taste" goodies ( eg. Ngau Lam fun , traditional charcoal roasted buns and their lorng yoke filling ) there. Yes- it's good to support those younger generation of cooks and give encouragement for them to excel in this field when they are interested and have the passion. Great episode, entertaining and yet down to earth illustration of a few Salak South's delicacies to share to the audience. I would have to say - YATT LAU !!! ....and thank you again Elmo. 👌👌👌

I use to live in Cheras but now live in Melbourne, Australia. I always miss the yummy food in Cheras. Find it puzzling that your Cheras videos had less views ! Just want to thank you for doing an awesome job! with the Cheras videos 🙂

Long time never go to salak south grd,as usuual everythings already change rapidly except us all oldtimer,with yr recommendation why not,but also must have good kaki to tact along,our children today will missed all this home base makan places,hope the younger generation can also support yr food adventure,to me u still on the ball,keepit up.

It's Malaysia Day ! What is better than going for Elmo's recommendation on Holiao Noodles ! Arrived 0915, just nice before the crowd build-up ! ordered the pork lard and mince meat plus cannot refuse Wanton soup.... Snapshot ! Pork lard very crispy, noodle chewy, mince meat not too salty, Wanton Soup is very nice just as Elmo recommended ! Kudos my man ! appreciate your intro and effort !

Today we followed your foot steps to Kit Kee Beef Noodles. My God! So good! Haven't had a better one so far. Broth is richest and taste natural. No MSG revenge. At RM14 it's at expensive side especially considering it's location and setup. But the portion is big. Loads of meat. With that quality and taste, they more than made up for the price. Thanx for your recommendation

Immediately today I went out and Tah Pow Fatty Mok Hokka Yong Tau Foo. You're right again. They're very good. Better than many I tried recently including some in Subang. Pieces have very pure fish flavor and they are all stuffed properly except for the Pak Tau Foo. RM2 a piece now. Pieces are big though, again, except for the Pak Tau Foo. And we don't get MSG revenge after the meal. If I read their reviews right, they were just RM1.70 a week ago. 17% increase now. Maybe they anticipate a surge in turnover after your visit 🤨
