Yeah.....good idea from owner to get this place " Halal" status so that all malaysians can enjoy those nice menus and amazingly good food! ......also foreign tourists from Muslim countries.....
Thank u for this wonderful video n for showing your breakfast experience in KL. Nasi lemak, yummy. Toast bread, yummy. Soft boiled egg, yummy. Coffee, yummy.
4:01 Those are frozen chunks of butter, so they are not spread over like in the UK. Classic Malaysian breakfast : Chunks or slabs of ice cold butter and generous spread of home made kaya jam sandwiched between thick (three-quarter inch is about right) white bread slices toasted over charcoal until crusty on the outside but still soft inside. Often accompanied by half-boiled eggs (UK : soft boiled or dippy eggs).
I let out a whoop of victory when Olivia sampled the toast with the egg and liked it! That's my ultimate favorite breakfast in the whole world, and it's simple enough to make at home. You can also use Japanese Shoyu (soy sauce) too, tastes just as amazing
I'm proud of you both. Waking up early in the morning to try traditional Malaysian breakfast, is just another level hahaha. (2 thumbs up!). In the next video, I suggest you guys try to answer some Q&A from your fans while recording the vlog. I look forward to it :)
7:16 You break soft boiled egg (Malaysia: half boiled egg) at the top because in the UK it's usually placed in an egg cup. In Malaysia they just crack it open by tapping middle of the egg with a spoon and pour it all out in a saucer.
Just Incase you don’t know, Malaysia’s do not plant for arabica coffee, Malaysia coffee is robusta or Liberica , the taste will be very different from arabica, and we use different roasting method and brewing method for our own coffee, so you will taste differently then what you thought about coffee.
nasi lemak people have their own way . but for new people , u just try mix like 1/10 of the sambal and with other side u choose . u can feel each one and at the end u can go all mix 👍🤓 when that shop get halal certifite , they better add more expansion 😁
For soft boiled eggs, you need to crack a line right in the center of the egg and use your finger to open/split it up into 2 with the small plate beneath to capture the falling eggs :)
Hi good morning sweet couple 💑 am grateful for visiting malaysia and sharing the food with the world 🌎 I love this kind of breakfast for morning 🌄 it's traditional Chinese food..I live in London from Malaysia kl..I definitely visit this shop one day 😊,thank guys for recommendation 😊
Wow!! It already been operating since 1956. That's the year before The Malaysia received it Independence. I must try it someday thanks for sharing. Excellent!! Very honest review I will rooting for you guys👍🏻😁.
The soft eggs and the kaya toast tradition in Malaysia was actually from the time of the British colonial...its a mixed of British and local culture...during the colonial times most Brits in Malaysia would eat that soft eggs with their toast.
Quite similar, though not exactly, to British dippy egg with soldiers. Dippy egg is soft boiled egg (here in Malaysia called half boiled egg). Soldiers are long strips of bread toast. Dippy egg is placed in an egg cup. Topmost part of the egg shell is cracked open and the soldiers dipped into the open dippy egg. Favourite breakfast for kids.
That sweet spread on the toast was Kaya .. its basically a coconut , egg and caramel .. one of my favorite .. if not .. my number 1 sweet spread for toast
Good that you guys are not complaining about having to queue for your breakfast 😉 Strongly recommend that you guys make a trip to Ipoh and Penang. There you will find more tastier n yummy food 😋
I really love kinda food every morning, would you mind sending me the address for this shop?I can't wait to go there's haha 😆 I'm appreciate and super enjoy your vlog..hope you enjoy the moment 😀
This is one of the typical Chinese breakfasts, besides the all popular Dim Sum, the different types of noodles, types of porridges, and the list just goes on. Lol😂😂😂
Before my tum rumbles in protest, you're eating food of throwback times, right in the heart of olde Kuala Lumpur when it began as a tin mining town, replete with miners, traders and planters
Yes they are boiled eggs but they are not HARD boiled eggs. They are half boiled eggs. YES thats the correct way to eat your kaya toast with half boiled eggs.
To be honest, all these while I thought half-boiled egg originated from the west. Had it from my childhood back in the 70s, always loved it and considered it western. Now, I know that westerners don't really eat half-boiled eggs?

I personally prefer it like that. I like biting through the layers and the butter melting in my mouth. Many kopitiams now do it like this and I like it.. Mmmmm

Kaya is coconut jam. Originally yellow due to eggs. But you can cook with pandan to make it green

You can find their menu on the website. It's very affordable for the high quality

Yes I will try .👍
Hi guys, wondering what's the most affordable of traveling between Vientiane and KL please?
Buses and trains through Thailand.

The butter IS supposed to be spread. Speed of delivery takes priority over
Blast from the past 😂
Chinese coffee and tea are the best in Malaysia since they are professionals in this field.

I tried to go in on hari raya 1st day 22nd April. I gave up.
The egg in 1:24 is overcooked.

We were sat right next to the speaker so it might have seemed quite loud, it wasn't too bad when you're there 🙂
why would they put a stick of butter in there? lol. eating the whole stick? thats weird.
As Malaysia is next to the equator, the butter would melt in minutes. If they were to serve soft butter , the bread would be soggy in no time.
