I love how you can tell that she really loves ballet. You can see it in the way she moves, her smile, her grace. It's lovely, really, that she gets awarded to do something she loves.

@@crystalwen9748 I don't know if you saw the documentary but it's pretty clear that Miko was heavily pushed into it by her mother to live out her mother's own unfulfilled ballerina dreams. I'm glad Miko's finally getting to live her own life now.

The fact that her ballet injuries and subsequent medical treatment and rehabilitation therapy led to her interest in medicine, is a pretty fucked up way to gain an interest in something. Her mother tried to live out her own ballet dreams through her daughter and that is NEVER "good."

Practice balancing en pointe in a retire position to get the balance needed for turning, make your releve as quick as possible, snap your foot up to your knee in one quick, solid motion, remember to maintain good alignment during the turn, and don't forget to spot. When I started doing turns en pointe it took me a while do develop the confidence to do the steps properly, and safely.

le corsaire's pas de trois, 3rd variation. yes it is the usual choreogrpahy but a little slower. if u look it up on youtube you'll find a bunch of versions

@jackkiechann It is not a "song" because there is no one singing. It is a variation from the pas de trois odalisques.
I plan on making some videos soon, I'm recovering from a fall at the moment, but I will have videos in about a week. :)

but still the pointe shoes somehow determine how well the performer can perform! i used to have blochs which i could never balance and go on pointe properly but after getting grishkos i got so much better!

It's a more modern style of tutu that is also worn in some ballets.

listen, I know that it can be very upsetting watching dancers like this, BUT, remember that for these kids, ballet is life and unless you are training for 6 hours a day and are planning a career in ballet, it is rather lovely to have a life:)

I WOULD LIKE TO DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE FIFTH POSITION AT THE END OF THE DOUBLE STEP UP SEQUENCE AT THE END OF THE VARIATION . NOW I KNOW SHE LOOKE ALMOST LIKE MYBE SHE MIGHT GET OFF HER LEG A BIT BIT NOT HAPPENING SHE IS SO STRONG AND THAT FIFTH POSITION IS WHAT MAKES BALLET, BALLET! (1:27 )
Wonderful maturity for a 13 year old... the preparation for the pirouettes was a little clumsy and she needed to go with the music more, but all in all an artistic and brilliant performance for someone of her age

You're being too hard on yourself. Did you start as early as she did? Did you practice as many hours per week? Did you have access to the same quality and length of training that she had? Do you have all the same resources which have helped her to succeed? Not to take any credit away from her (she is certainly talented and impressive), but you are comparing yourself without knowing the answers to these questions. Dance for fun and you will continue to improve.
Dont feel bad- learn from her- drive in class to land every turn like Miko's! :) Dont feel bad, just feel inspired! :)
