  • I decided to have a walk along the canal which is two thirds of a mile from my home - there was a part one to this walk but due to the cameraman being useless " Me " there is only this walk ! but it is a good walk that ends at the Leggers Inn in Dewsbury at the Marina - I hope you enjoy the walk with me and seeing the Swans who graciously came out to see me !

Another beautiful walk Graham, thank you. A song popped into my head as the noise from the scrap yard got louder, Bjork 'Oh so quiet....and peaceful until....." 😅 I do know what you mean, i've spent most of my life where i am, there is a whole world out there & i feel it is time for a change for me. Lovely to hear the birds again 🐦‍⬛& nice to see the swans 🦢😊👍

Good Evening Kate, thank you for the comment - a great analogy there with Bjork and that amazing sing she did - yes indeed there is a big world out there that needs to be explored and I am ready to explore it before it is too late ! I dont want to be there on my death bed only to realise that I have never Lived - the birdsong is lovely and the swans were gracious enough to come out and say hello ! But I dont want to be here for the rest of my life !! Wishing You a Lovely Evening and always remember to follow your dreams ! :-)

Yet again Graham another lovely walk and so tranquil I follow a you tuber who is a lady living full time in a narrow boat, and she writes poetry about all the wildlife she sees on her travels and paints pictures of all the scenery and wildlife and it is a lovely channel. Obviously near to me we have the Cheshire union canal and the Llangollen canal which has the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct crossing the river dee, designed by Thomas Telford and it is quite an amazing piece of architecture, it's no wonder Britain definitely led the world during the industrial revolution. And nice to see the people fishing in the sunshine for a change and not the pouring rain 👍👍

Good Morning Robert, thank you for the comment - I always enjoy this walk along the canal and once almost bought a Narrowboat as I wanted to live on it and do some travelling but it never happened ! I often think about it and often wish I had bought it ! but thats life - I have been to Llangollen many times and I like the town there and the river - there are some great shops there as well and an amazing taxidermist if it is still open - we certainly did lead the world with men like Telford and Brunel they created some amazing pieces of architecture along with Stephenson ! I have crossed the Menai Bridge and Britannia Bridge many times when crossing the Menai to Anglesey and they are both amazing feats of engineering - The area I was in on the walk is very popular with Anglers and yesterday was a perfect day with the weather as everything looks so much better when the Sun shines and it does give you a sense of wellbeing - Have a great Sunday my friend :-)

Yes Graham life on a narrow boat would be amazing, the channel I mentioned is called the Mindful Narrow boat and it's a lovely watch. Do you remember a series from the early 80's called Travelling Man starring Leigh Lawson as an ex police man released from prison Travelling the canals of the UK trying to find the bent police who had framed and set him up. It was a brilliant show and very popular but was pulled after one series ??? 👍👍

Another peaceful stroll in the countryside, I have said it before you are very lucky to have so many picturesque places on your doorstep. We have lots of Canal walks in Stoke as of course the canal network used to transport the pots many years ago. I suppose we are all guilty of what we have on our own doorstep and and are quick to run it and down slag it off - but these walks prove that we have something special under all of our noses if only we looked. Cheers Paul

Good Morning Paulo, thank you for the comment - the walk along the canal is very nice and very peaceful - I had not been for a while ! We all have some very nice places around us and we are lucky to live in such a beautiful country and of course it is all free until they decide to tax it ! I am guilty of not appreciating what I have where I live I must admit but saying that I will be moving to Wales at some point in the future I am sure ! when my dad finally shuffles off this mortal coil I will be moving ! have a great Monday my Friend :-)
