- A walk through Lindley where my Dad Lives on the outskirts of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire - The Walk ends at The Garden of Lost Souls -I hope you enjoy the walk.
Yet again Graham another lovely little walk about and a pretty little village and good to see it still has a few pubs left. So many in my town since I first started to drink have now been developed into flats or demolished for housing. Even the busiest pub in the town and the Royal British legion next to it gave way to an Aldi and it's car park. And the garden of lost souls was amazing hopefully people respect it and not move the carvings 👍👍
Good Morning Robert, thank you for the comment, Lindley is a very nice village which is full of pubs and restaurants and of course all local business's with the exception of Sainsburys - I like the Garden of Lost Souls it must have cost the home owner a fortune to set it up ! I have never seen any signs of vandalism there over the years hopefully it will be left for people to enjoy ! have a great day my friend :-)

Hi Graham, Lindley looks a lovely place, bit noisy with all the traffic, but away from the busy road you can hear the birds twittering away. Lovely church & graveyard. The garden of lost souls was very good, looked like some of the characters were coming up out of the ground & some built into the wall? I love gargoyles, the uglier the better 😅
Good Morning Kate, thank you for the comment - the main road in Lindley is always busy but it is a nice area with lots of local individual shops which is always good to see - I love the Garden of Lost Souls ! Another Lovely place not quite as tranquil as where you live but still nice but like you say a busy road - What's the Butty Shop like? Is that one you have reviewed? You seem to have lots of places of worship in West Yorkshire. Is the cafe good? And the Garden of Lost Souls made me smile - I went to a funeral a few years back and the vicar who looked like Charles Hawtrey from the Carry On Films didn't have very clear diction and he didn't pronounce Our Souls ... But Are Souls - never heard such schoolboy sniggering at a funeral Cheers Paul
Good Morning Paul, thank you for the comment - the butty shop is the one I reviewed ! I passed on by this time and doubt I will be trying anymore of their range ! it is just too expensive - I too would have sniggered at the vicar I have to admit it is the simple things that always get me !! The Garden of Lost Souls is a great garden that the homeowners have created and it must have cost a fortune for all those sculptures - thankfully I have never seen any damage being caused to it !
