    Hi marsela, your monthly goal reset video was amazing for me because I had an idea about making a foto collage for comp. backround but i didn't know where to start, you made it all clear and also your advices were perfectly inspiring ideas. Additionaly, I will share this video with my brother, because he is really into these comp-eng things. You are doing great whatever you do and I am sure he will agree with that.

    First realistic video on the subject I've seen.... without trying to over glamorize the food options on campus, etc.... Perhaps the aspect that is missing is the need to update/create tests to go along with the code for tickets.

    There is about 1 minute what software engineer really does, and 21 minutes that you are just talking to camera. This is the sunny side what a professional really does. You have to admit, this is a day when you have actually no work. In weeks and months when a release is going to be out, you actually don't go down for eating fancy food, don't stop work at 2 pm for play with plasticine. You actually stay in your chair at 8 and don't get up till 5pm. I don't wanna break someone's dream to be a software engineer, just put attention to the other side of this job.

    Did you finish watching squid game? I didn't like the ending :(

    • @marselaaa
      @marselaaa  3 роки тому +3

      Engineers write unit tests and sometimes integration tests! For teams that have strong impact on user experience (like mine), there’s QA engineers that do manual QA, automated QA, and manage the releases!
      We generally get the projects from our PM but the engineers break down the project and create the technical tickets.
      I did finish Squid Game! I appreciated the ending more after watching some analysis videos on yt but I agree 😂

    Great video.. Refactoring code can be fun... I refactored a code that was written by a JR developer which was 2098 lines and reduced it to just 292 lines and pushed it to production... half of code was redundant and repeated code logics... my suggestion to all junior developers out there work smarter.. not harder... do what marsela is doing put your ideas and thoughts in a paper... create a daily To Do list or task list, organize and structure your code/project... use the tools of the trade.. I personally use Notion.. you can use whatever you are comfortable with...another important thing is communication.. communicate with your managers/ team leader if you are stuck or not able to understand something or need help... and finally learn from your mistakes and keep making new once... just make sure the that the mistake is not crash the production server :-)
