    The Bog is awesome! It is extremely well maintained and beautifully designed. Another good one down the road the other way, Hawthorne Hills, is much cheaper and is also very well maintained

    All good choices-really like Ironwood. Also enjoyed your videos from the UP. Timber stone , sage run and sweet grass . We stay at the casino there and play those courses. Great time. Thanks for sharing!

      I am trying to get back up to the UP before the end of the season. Awesome courses and excited to see how Sage Run develops as it becomes older. Appreciate the support!

    Love this list. As a fellow oak Creek resident I wish there was better public golf in the southern suburbs. Have you ever had a chance to play meadowbrook in Racine?

    Going to play The Bog this week, will let you know. You're missing a couple of my favorites, Brown Deer Park, Dretzka Park, Naga-Waukee, and Washington County. You need to check them out.

      Yea, it is tough to make these Top 5 as there are a lot of good courses. I will say I wasn’t too impressed when I played Brown Deer last year (since they removed a lot of the trees). However, Washington County is one of my new favorites!

      @@ThePublicGolfers Played The Bog this week ... FANTASTIC!!!! Yes, it's one of the courses that absolutely, positively, has to be on a golfers bucket list. Great entertaining layout, was in wonderful shape, greens rolled true and quick (tough to read some of the breaks but great greens). Staff was really friendly and helpful. Liked that range balls are included in the green fees. I'm definitely going back. Good pick to have on your top five. BTY - Brown Deer will always be a sentimental favorite, grew up playing the course before and after Dutch Elm and after the GMO renovation - favorite course to walk on an early morning.

    Kettle moraine golf course is a fun course too. 29 bucks for 9 holes so probably around 50 for 18. It’s got a marshy landscape similar to Edgewood golf course. Also, pretty sure morning star is 100-110 for 18 right now. Last year I know I paid over 100. Price should drop in September though. Great course as well.

    • @ThePublicGolfers
      @ThePublicGolfers  2 роки тому

      I am hoping to get out and film 18 at Morningstar this fall, only have played the front 9 there. I agree Kettle Moraine is another solid course for the price.

    • @kozlik12
      @kozlik12 2 роки тому

      @@ThePublicGolfers You should. I play 18 there every year in September since it’s like $80-90 around that time. I almost think the back 9 is even better than the front. Although, hard to say since I only play there once a year and usually have several drinks in my system by the time I get to the back lol.

    Played morningstar yesterday for the first time. Shot an 81 from the blues. Ranger was backing up and doing some stupid shit in his cart during my second swing on one of the holes he was on, didn't even apologize. cart boy was directly parked behind the flag on 18 for whatever reason. Literally just chilling there 20 yards directly behind the pin in the shade...not working. Then I also had to wait 30-40 min for a grilled cheese after the round. Overall shit service. 3.5/5 for the course. Some greens are covered in sand. Had I not only paid $25 for the round I would have been pissed.

    • @ThePublicGolfers
      @ThePublicGolfers  2 роки тому

      That sucks, usually MorningStar is kept up nicely all year. Did they say anything prior to going out about the greens?

    • @CB-rv2lj
      @CB-rv2lj 2 роки тому

      @@ThePublicGolfers not one thing from the front desk guy. The first hole was the worst but everything else wasn’t terrible. I would go there again. But only with a coupon to see if it’s worth spending the $80-90 again

    • @ThePublicGolfers
      @ThePublicGolfers  2 роки тому

      @@CB-rv2lj Now that really sucks, they didn't mention anything about the greens and just the overall state of the course. I would give it another shot as it is usually a lot better than that.

    Ironwood is absolutely incredible. Fairways of Woodside was overpriced and not too great in my opinion. But give it a shot and let me know!

    • @ThePublicGolfers
      @ThePublicGolfers  2 роки тому +1

      I played Ironwood a few weeks ago and it was in great shape and for the price it is tough to beat. Fairways is overpriced unless you get the 2 year golf pass deal they sell in January.

    Dretzka Park should’ve made this list. IMO, just as good as the pricy BrownDeer, host of the old GMO.

    The design of Ironwood really bothers me, TBH. There are some holes that make no sense. Tons of invisible hazards. Lots of blind tee shots. Just really bad design all the way around. A better option, not on this list is Washington County Golf Course.

    • @ThePublicGolfers
      @ThePublicGolfers  4 місяці тому

      That is a fair point. If I did an updated list I would include Washington County. When I originally made this list, I was trying to pick more courses in the Racine/Kenosha / Waukesha / Milwaukee Area.
