My dad and I were the first public to play Lawsonia's Wood course. This was perhaps the late 80s. We got there, tee'd off and while playing, passed the town's mayor who was supposed to be the first, had no idea who he was. When we finished all the employees were on the 18th waiting for the mayor to give him a portrait and frame for his scorecard. Due to his slow play we ended up with the plaque! LOVE THIS COURSE... Fun fact: Lawsonia has a lot of crowned greens. To make that happen many greens have subway cars (and who knows what else) buried under them to create the raised crown and help irrigate.
Great collab with Andy from the Fried Egg! As a fellow architecture nerd, I geek out on his podcasts and newsletter, wish he did more video content like this...so good! Thanks again Erik.
When I saw the title I thought this is a collaboration with Randy from Fried Eggs golf. It was not, but this was another great video. Dang, EAL team, you are pushing out so much great content.
Did anyone else notice that the caddie was like a spitting image of Colt? Kinda crazy. I hope you tipped him well. 30 years of experience as a caddie should really be recognized! :p
Been binging on your videos lately - what a channel. Thank you for all of the work you and Colt put into these videos. It’s golf escapism for the guys like me that will never get to play these courses.
I just really appreciate the type of video you put out in regards to the way you present the course and history of the game so to speak. Which makes your channel a notch above everyone else. Thanks man
I do lawsonia every summer. play both courses. the woodlands is great also. 2 totally different styles. and wonderfully nice people in green lake where we stay. u can't beat it!!
Thanks, absolutely great watching. To hear someone talk with such passion about design and the role of a golf course in history, and designers , with knowledge, just great. Oops, bit geeky!
I’m a big fan of your work! Your doing a great job of bringing these great places to us. Thank you for everything you do. Your positivity really comes through on our end. It’s very refreshing. Well done sir and remember to enjoy it.
Played here this summer and have to say it’s truly a hidden gem. I’ve been fortunate to play some of the great courses in the US, Ireland and Scotland and would put Lawsonia up there with any of them. Chicago Golf is similar but I like Lawsonia better. Great video.
very, very, excited to see that you have your own channel outside of adventures of Golf. Looking forward to watching a whole new source of great content from you!
I am 15 minutes away from Lawsonia and loved the vid! Be sure to check out Mascoutin the next time you are up. Gorgeous course and people from all over come to play the blue nine. About 10 minutes from Lawsonia!
I don’t engage in any sort of social media so you probably will not read this but I would like to wish you a Happy Christmas and wish you all the best for 2019 and to thank you for the beautiful films you have created this year Erik.
You and No Laying Up should do some sort of collab. I'm sure there's a bit of a rivalry, but both channels have a very different feel and there's no reason you can't co-exist with each other
If you're ever back in Eastern North Carolina again you should check out the public course North Green in Rocky Mount. Pretty cool course and a solid back 9.
Great video! If you are ever In the Chicagoland area, swing by cantigny, one of the best public golf courses in the country. It is 5 minutes away from Chicago golf, the first 18-hole course in America, good luck getting in though!
My dog is my one of my best friends and having the opportunity to golf with her would be priceless. She’s a Pomeranian so I’d have to carry her for 15 holes, but still worth it. Living in SE NC which has a uptight vibe about golf.....NO DOGS ALLOWED Great vlog Erik, Colt swing looks like he is the best player out there.
Obsessed with this channel. Thank you, excellent work! I would agree that Lawsonia is more fun than Whistling Straights...and about $500 cheaper! Love Lawsonia.
I love lawsonia, im from wisconsin and have played the links 4 times and the woodlands 2. It is such a fun place and stacks up with the best of em, Erin, Whistling and Sand Valley. its fantastic. Hope you get the chance to play Mammoth Dunes Eric, it is one of the most fun golf course you will ever play.
Years ago, I directed a junior golf camp at Lawsonia...we had Betsy King who at the time was the #1 female player in the world, come in to be with the kids, and she commented it would have been a great LPGA tournament course. Always loved BOTH courses there!
Lawsonia ran a promotion recently: Tuesdays in May during the Covid-19 quarantine, you could name your own price to play the Links Course. Easily the best golf value ever, anywhere, even at the normal rates.
Lawsonia Links is a real gem! In my top 5, but when I'm playing it, I don't want to be anywhere else, it's #1. Too bad the boys look like they caught a soggy day. The Links usually plays fast and firm. The USGA's Mike Davis said these might be the best set of greens in the USA. I won't argue.
You should do a special on Pete Dye and play some of his Indiana courses! A stunning one in French Lick (home of Larry Bird), a very public and relaxed Sahms Golf course (perfect beginner course that shows just how far Dye has come), and plenty more to choose from (Plum Creek is one of my favorites). Just an idea, but it would be really cool to see the roots of a legend!
Love that you took a dog out on the course. When I was playing in England, it seemed there were dogs everywhere. Don't see that much in the US. In fact, not sure if I EVER have.
Erik! You want the best links course outside of Scotland? Links of North Dakota in Williston ND. 30 miles from town down a gravel road literally in the middle of absolutely no where and gets very little play yet it’s the #1 course in ND and top 100 in America. I may be biased because it’s my home course but thankfully my talent has blessed me to play all over the U.S. at some of our greatest courses. If you are ever gonna be in the area and want truly one of the most underrated and best hidden gems in America give me a shout!👌 Fairways and Greens🏌️♂️⛳️ -B.J. Mahar
You can bring snowball and play in jeans at the links of ND too! And very affordable. Plus you’ll get a great day blessed with some incredible views and never and I mean never have to worry about slow play!
Just played 36 holes here one the most beautiful and challenging courses I’ve ever played. The links are absolutely amazing along with their woodlands course.
I’m ashamed to say as a Wisconsin resident that I just played that course for the first time this fall. The shame happened after I discovered the beauty of this course and how budget friendly it is.
Lawsonia is a MUCH better golf course than Whistling. Wisconsin golf is unreal. Sand Valley is best on my list anywhere with my experience at Lawsonia being UNREAL. What a treat. Whistling was terrible but I am sure would be better if I play it again.....but Sand Valley and Lawsonia .........Just the bets pure golf trip you might ever make.
I thought so, but I was wrong. My regular golf buddy brought his dog one day and she was absolutely awesome to have around, even finding two of my golf balls in the rough and saving my score (and some frustration). In fact, when he gets to the course now without her, I am disappointed. If the dog is well enough trained, they are a pleasure!
Ok only time I didn't play bunkers In Chicago 36 degrees frozen ground I didn't use tees...frozen ground Frozen water in bunkers Couldn't remove flag....frozen in hole Wouldn't risk life getting ball off frozen lakes Used 3 wood on tee boxes
Well, you want to do a cool show on golf in NYC then you go to Van Cortlandt in the Bronx. The oldest public gold course in the US. Just fantastic. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Cortlandt_Park

Me too... I was seriously stoked. This was a good video but I'm still disappointed.
Me too. Wish Randy can make some more but he got a "real" job now. Wish you well Randy.
And you too Tim.
Hard to express how happy this video makes me. From the beauty of Lawsonia to the doggos. Much love EAL❤️
The world needs more collaborations with Andy. Thanks for bringing your visual element to his point of view.
Did anyone else notice that the caddie was like a spitting image of Colt? Kinda crazy. I hope you tipped him well. 30 years of experience as a caddie should really be recognized! :p

I love playing Lawsonia every summer with my grandpa.
Me and my buddies are going up there this May and boy oh boy am I even more pumped. Great video!
Love your vlogs! Gives the game of golf another dimension than all those swing clips.
I do lawsonia every summer. play both courses. the woodlands is great also. 2 totally different styles. and wonderfully nice people in green lake where we stay. u can't beat it!!
where do you stay in green lake?
Thanks, absolutely great watching. To hear someone talk with such passion about design and the role of a golf course in history, and designers , with knowledge, just great. Oops, bit geeky!
Finally Wisconsin gets to show off it's great golf. Well done Erik

Every single video is gold. Must watch content. Keep it up, the algorithm will recognize it soon enough.
I love Andy and his podcast..amazing to see what he looks like

Love this video, and the music. I feel lucky to be a golfer right now with you guys doing your thing. This stuff makes me love golf even more.
Thank you Erik for getting me through my hangover I have binged watched every video on your channel angel in disguise much love
very, very, excited to see that you have your own channel outside of adventures of Golf. Looking forward to watching a whole new source of great content from you!
Just 2 cool cats and some golf...love it
I believe those are dogs
Thank you Erik for the great golf videos you give us! There are hidden gems in sweden to play aswell.
Played Lawsonia for our college conference tournament, one of the funnest courses I've played, definitely tested the flat stick those four rounds.
Just added Lawsonia to my golf course bucket list. Thanks for another great video.
I am 15 minutes away from Lawsonia and loved the vid! Be sure to check out Mascoutin the next time you are up. Gorgeous course and people from all over come to play the blue nine. About 10 minutes from Lawsonia!
Another great video, from a channel that only puts out great videos. How you can have only 18K subscribers is beyond my comprehension.
Best video yet. Well done!
Can't wait to see the state am take on this place next summer. I love Lawsonia.
Lived in WI for 5 years now and had no idea this place exists... Looking forward to checking it out
Played here this summer easily best course I have played
Play this course twice a year so cool
I don’t engage in any sort of social media so you probably will not read this but I would like to wish you a Happy Christmas and wish you all the best for 2019 and to thank you for the beautiful films you have created this year Erik.

Excellent film.
fantastic video! love it
Lawsonia ran a promotion recently: Tuesdays in May during the Covid-19 quarantine, you could name your own price to play the Links Course. Easily the best golf value ever, anywhere, even at the normal rates.
Me and my grandpa did that. We camp right across the road and had a great time
You should have fished Green for some smallies! That place is pure fire!
Always love the music you guys have in the background. Where do you find it all?
Lawsonia Links is a real gem! In my top 5, but when I'm playing it, I don't want to be anywhere else, it's #1. Too bad the boys look like they caught a soggy day. The Links usually plays fast and firm. The USGA's Mike Davis said these might be the best set of greens in the USA. I won't argue.
Spent some great days on this golf course
Such a sick video!
Love it boys! What a trio of moves on you fellas! Ya'll all shoot 75 out there?

There's a hole in the wall course 1.5 hrs north of St. Louis, MO that you would love.
Holy shit, a course vlog in my neck of the woods! I'll have to check it out this summer
I ve played 4 Langford’s and they are great Erik: your grooming could use a renovation or possibly a rebuild
At 8:23 he putted with the club backwards and I don’t think anyone else noticed. And I camp right across the road from place.
If I live until Oct I will play it!
Andy rocking the Glen View Club qtr zip
I live 35 minutes from here. Amazing course for the money. They're hosting the state am next year.
I would have loved to seen Randy from fried eggs golf! That is why I clicked! Oh and I just like the golf
What golf bag do you use??
My home course is a Langford Moreau. I can see a lot of similarities.
How big of a cut do you normally play? With that held off follow through it looks like you play left to right
Keeney Park in Hartford is an amazing public course
Hey Bro, you should come and Visit Panamá. We have really nice golf clubs here. Really cool for a Central America Season ?
Just played 36 holes here one the most beautiful and challenging courses I’ve ever played. The links are absolutely amazing along with their woodlands course.
the woodlands is really good. no slouch herself!!!
Great video!!!
I need to know what these songs you got playing in the background are.
This is my Graceland.... :)
How Did you get those amazing aerial views ?
Our drone and some practice!!
Great video
Erik, have you ever played in South of Spain?
oh heck yeah !!!
I’m ashamed to say as a Wisconsin resident that I just played that course for the first time this fall. The shame happened after I discovered the beauty of this course and how budget friendly it is.
Now that I know you can bring the pups, I'm definitely going. Maybe in a limo... 😂
you should come and play the Pete Dye in French Lick, IN
This is golf nerd porn, Erik! Thanks man! I honestly want to stop and play Lawsonia even more than Erin Hills or Whistling Straights.
Any idea what the music is from 6:20 on?
Obligatory why does this channel not have more subs comment
Come join us for next years league!!! LA’s #1 golf league for young adults
Is there a connection between Randy and Fried Egg you tube channel and this guy; Andy? I’m confused
finding places for golfers to play and not pay 400usd, that's the soul of the game. it is indeed
No offense, but Violet and Snowball really stole the show ;)
bet the dogs loved it
Lawsonia is a MUCH better golf course than Whistling.
Only time ive been in a limo was to go see an eagles concert as well haha
I love dogs but holy cow that would get annoying on the course. I’d always be worried about hitting them.
So you gonna come to Indiana and play some great courses?
Musica romantica
I would think the two thumbs down is because the video does not include Randy from FEG
better than whistling straits? no. great course, yes.
Ok only time I didn't play bunkers
In Chicago 36 degrees frozen ground
I didn't use tees...frozen ground
Frozen water in bunkers
Couldn't remove flag....frozen in hole
Wouldn't risk life getting ball off frozen lakes
Used 3 wood on tee boxes
Well, you want to do a cool show on golf in NYC then you go to Van Cortlandt in the Bronx. The oldest public gold course in the US. Just fantastic. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Cortlandt_Park
Andy kind of reminds me of Jay Barachel
Colts swing is ligit
You actually divide Cole Caddy years by two bc he Carrie’s two bags.
Andy, you’re a genius... limo rentals are about to skyrocket. What’s the heck were we thinking to NOT do this? #wokeyoke
I may have a mancrush on Colt.
