The one thing I didn't like about Bay's Grimlock is how easily Prime put him down
Yes. Grimlock can stand toe to toe with Prime and Megatron.
I was more upset with how in the age of extinction movie, Optimus Prime basically went against his belief that freedom being the right of all sentient beings by enslaving Grimlock and by extension the dinobots.
@@StareachValcin He wasn't enslaving him. Optimus HAD to go all out and beat the crap out of Grimlock because that is all Grimlock understands: Strength. In Grimlock's eyes, compassion makes you weak, so he would never have followed Prime's lead otherwise.
@@kevinnorwood8782 Optimus Prime quite literally threatened to kill Grimlock if he didn't serve. That's clearly slavery and goes against Optimus Prime's beliefs that freedom is the right of all sentient beings. I honestly don't have a problem with Optimus Prime fighting Grimlock to get him to join his team. That isn't the issue. The problem is when Optimus Prime has Grimlock beat, he quite clearly said "you defend my family or die". Clearly enslavement.

I love the Dinobots they are technically my favorite transformers growing up.
From my understanding, there are nearly ten Dinobots in total. The original six were Grimlock the T-Rex, Snarl the Stegosaurus, Slag/Slug the Triceratops, Sludge the Brontosaurus, Swoop the Pteranodon, and Paddles the Plesiosaurus. After them, the Bayverse added Scorn the Spinosaurus, who we see in Age Of Extinction, but also Stomp the Brachiosaurus, and Slash the Velociraptor.
But Then Slash Got Removed Before Release In Theatres 😭

There was nothing more exciting than getting a new TRANSFORMER and trying to figure out how to transform the Transformer into its different forms, without using the instruction manual.
I place all blame on Transformers toys for most of the men born in the late 70’s & 80’s for being known to not ask for driving directions 😂😂
Becouse of the Dinobots...mentality, I'll call it, I think it's better to call Grimlock their Alpha, then leader. Since, after all, he's mostly in charge becouse he won't take orders from anybody else, and, almost, no one else can make him.

What made the Dinobots fit despite their "robots in disguise", their alternative mode, was the fact that their alternative mode wasn't made to blend in. It was to be in a far more combat-enhanced mode. They already left the mere disguise idea via other transformers transforming to provide alt-form services, so why not a type to do that specifically for that? Then... Dinobots. In dinosaur mode, they are virtually indestructible and armed to the teeth as well as having super-robot-form dinosaur natural weapons. Grimlock even preferred to always be in his T-Rex form.
Micheal Bay's Grimlock was awesome... but nerfed down in both capability and especially mind, while Grimlock was never above being simple nor being heroically idealistic.

Im sure its been said .... but in gen 1 comics law the swoop/divebomb name change was because a decepticon fought him and beat him and took his name for himself
That is Chip in the wheelchair not Spike although Spike can be seen wearing a hardhat in the shot next to Chip

Forgot about Paddles, Skar, IDW Strafe (different Dinobot then Swoop), Grimmaster (used to be Kakuryu from the Dinoforce), BM Dinobots (like T-Wrecks) The mini-con Dinobots and the cassette Dinobots.
Grimlock 🦖 looks Incredibly SHARP to ride on even for Optimus Prime🗿 !!!!
And the other one is called Swoop, not strafe.
His name isn’t sludge, it’s Slag.
Cybertron grimlock was a great design
It was Hound that went with Spike to view the skeletons and created holograms.

If you ask me, based on that personality description. Swoop should be a kid appeal character like Bumblebee & Hot Rod, Cheetor from beast wars, Sideburn from RID 2005, Hot Shot from the Unicron Trilogy, and Sideswipe from RID 2015.
Also you forgot to mention Grimstone.
This was very distracting and hard to follow as the visuals were all over the place and did not match the audio.
Also making this hard to follow as someone with prior knowledge on the franchise is how the narrator seemed to conflate different continuities into one.
While the visuals are eye catching is recommend having them more accurately match the audio and specific characters being spoken of at that given moment.
Swoop is my favorite
We didn't get a single 'Me Grimlock' in the bay movies. So disappointed...
You should do a video of all the characters in beast wars which is but one of the transformers expanded universe that the new movie will be loosely based on.
Still can't believe Grimlock became the leader of Autobots before Bumblebee.
I grew up watching the G1 series and Bay has completely screwed them All up. The dinobots for starters, swoop was never a 2 headed dragon thing, Grimlock didn't have horns and there was no damn spinosorus, they were simple snarl,slag sludge Grimlock and swoop and Galvatron was not a damn semi that froms from flowing beads.

If only the G1 Ratchet and Wheeljack or that genius kid in the wheelchair had somehow been able to retro build from the constructicons combiner technology when they initially brought Devastator under Autobots control. They had the most intelligent beings in the G1 cartoon they could've done it. Volcanicus would've been a great in the fights with the Constructicons

Slag is not a "stegoceratops". Putting aside the mutilated atrocities Michael Bay created, Slag is a triceratops.
Sludge is not a brachiosaurus. He is a brontosaurus/apatosaurus. He has a dorsally flattened head which would place the "nostrils" at the front of the snout, rather than a dorsally inclined head which would place the "nostrils" in a cranial ridge at the top of the snout or head.
Please do your homework before posting.

I am far from a master of the lore, but I'm 99.9% sure his origins have nothing to do with those of the Dinobots proper. All I ever knew was he was a 'con defector, probably as a result of feelings of betrayal and contempt for his ex-cohorts.

Some of this info is repetitive, some of it's just plain wrong. Transformers the cartoon didn't exist in the 70s for one. The factual part of the video is great, but it needs better editing.

The movie didn’t do justice to the Dinobots at all, if anything the movie underrated and degraded them 😒

I love the version of dinobots..from the original cartoon,Michael bays transformers really sux..I hated it..the origins of that version..in fact I hate all the transformers live action movies,especially that witwicky character,he is so annoying,the only good thing about that movies is the hottie babes like Megan fox for example..😂😂😂😂😂😂..otherwise the storyline sux,it didn’t do justice for the autobots and the decepticons..he totally ruined my all time favourite childhood cartoon…
