Got a load more work done today on the Mini Cooper S R53 restoration. The engine is almost ready to go back in - just need to install the new flywheel and clutch.
Oh and we replaced the Fiat 500 with a new Audi A3. Happy days.

Valeo do a conversion to convert it to a single mass flywheel. It gives a better clutch feel as well and can handle more power than the standard clutch. Did it on my Mini and it was great
Ahh crap wish I’d have known that before splashing out on a new dual mass. Worth knowing for next time though 👍🏻
New to your videos but love the way you only click the torque wrench once, hate it when people do it two or three times 🙄
Those pieces of plastic are definitely off the old chain guides. They usually drop down into the sump and lodge themselves in the oil pickup tube strainer which then starves the engine of oil - luckily I caught mine in time!

Hi Nino. Loving your channel, I started watching the Audi series (I have a B7 A4 Avant myself) and loved your engagement and your honesty with the channel. I think that your missus will love the A3. One small thing to note is that certain hoses need constant-tension clamps on them which the worm-drive clamps don't provide. These are usually used on things that fluctuate in temperature quite a lot like coolant hoses. The expansion and contraction can sometimes cause the fittings to work loose over time. The CT-clamps are a bit more painful to work with, but provide better long-term reliability overall. Keep up the great content! Greetings from South Africa

You forgot to change the rod bearings
If you need singular bolts and you know the spec, get on ebay... I use KayFast and you sure to be getting correct spec (hardness etc)

Did you do the oil cooler o-rings? They are very common to fail and leak
Great videos, only thing I would suggest is to think about the engine back in the car and where the access to the new hose clamps is, you may want to turn them around so you can access them when it’s all back in?
