    Asian Countries open for tourism now, or January 2022 alphabetically: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Maldives, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam. The Philippines, as usual, is the slow-poke of Asia.

      Thanks James. The Philippines has a great opportunity for tourism growth and recovery if they get a bit more proactive about opening.

      Currently, the Philippines has 100 million vaccinations available. There is no shortage of vaccines, but there is a shortage of logistical foresight. The Philippine government was complaining that countries were hoarding the vaccines, and now that they have them, they are in a race to use the vaccinations before the expiratory dates. It's not like they haven't had time to sort this out? The Philippines should be the 'New Asian Tiger' in Southeast Asia, but they keep shooting themselves in the foot. Grr...

    Good video Rod, and good points all. It's a pity to see foreigners live beyond their means and basically cook and eat their nest egg and live from retirement check to retirement check. It happened to a friend of mine.
    I recommend having a washing machine. Samsung 6.5-7kg models have always done well for me. LG are supposed to be better with a faster spin to remove more water so clothes dry faster, but I can't swear to it, I may never get a chance to find out because my Samsung seems immortal.

    Word of advice, if you are driving and come to stop lights and see a sign saying "No Right Turn On Red Lights" then don't turn right until green. Even if the road is quiet and is ok to turn, don't, chances are there is one of the traffic officers waiting around the corner to catch you.

    There will be no International tourist visas issues to the Philippines until June 2022 (earliest), due to their low covid immunization rate (24%). If you don't want to wait, most other Southeast Asia will be open late 2021-early 2022 due to 80% + vaccination rates. As the man said, do your research...

    nice day to take a walk Rod yeah people still need to stay within their budget even here in the Philippines becaus it's also easy to spend way too much money that's why I'm glad both shopee and Lazada have cash on deliver service I wouldn't suggest anyone living in the province for too long if your not from here it can be very hard to deal with and it can make anyone feel very isloated when there isn't much to see or do or places to go to and relax like malls the cloest mall to me is 2 hours 20 minutes by bus because they make frequent stops back and fourth 1 hour and 30 minutes by car and the SM mall and Robinsons mall that I go to don't have that much to see or do maybe buy what you need eat somewhere and then people go home

    Rod: Do you find that the water pressure is an issue when using the clothes washer? How about the cleanliness of the water does this effect the cleanliness of your clothes? And did you buy a combo washer and dryer because I've heard you mention that the combo dryers don't work very well in previous videos?

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  2 роки тому +1

      The water in Cebu is "hard" Mark so lots of minerals in it. I have only had a water pressure issue when the water valves under the sink get too coated with minerals so I changed them out and pressure restored. I do not have a dryer but hang them on the balcony. I think the standard setting on combo washer/dryers is low energy which takes a long time to dry. Could probably change that setting.

    What sidewalk, Rod 😁? What day and time was this outing? Though light traffic and less pedestrians are usually preferred, it is depressing to see one of the City's otherwise busy thoroughfare still appearing like a ghost town. I thought they've already opened up a long time ago. Perhaps, people just got conditioned and used to being confined and no longer motivated to go out and do something. Perhaps this is what the usual suspects are banking on for whatever nefarious reasons they have. I've had episodes of YT comments that I posted not registering or showing up even after several attempts and conversely, some comments in any of my contents ending up in the "Comments>Held for review" section in YT Studio. When uploading a video, there's an option towards the bottom of the setup page called "Comment visibility" which has four drop-down options. For the longest time, the "Show all comments" option had been the default. I recently found out that the default is now "Hold potentially inappropriate comments for review", hence the comments mystery. I don't know when YT made this change but it is apparently the cause as people take such option for granted. I just uploaded a video a coupla hours ago and I can reconfirm that this is currently the case.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1

      I lived in cebu city for 4 years, i left 8 months ago because of covid. I had to use the emergency room at chong hua, all i had was severe pain for in butt and leg from nerves. They put me in a room with covid patients with no masks, i saw 3 people die in front of me. It was so scary, they started to do a bunch of unnecessary tests on me. I demaned to leave, all i needed was pain medicine. They charges me 100,000 pesos, total robbery. If u are a foreigner, they will try to rip you off as much as possible. So disgusting Chong Hua,,,,,,
