  • Time to paint the cabinet and apply the decals! Some extra holes also need to be drilled, so in this episode, some scary steps are taken. The end result is amazing though!

    Sometimes this looks so intimidating but I love when people can make it seem as accessible as you have here. You've put me back in the spirit of a project I'd put down for a while. Thanks for the great content friend.

    Great series, thanks for making it and congratulations on completing the project! I'm wondering about the placement of the TV - I would have thought it should be as close to the glass as possible, but yours is quite recessed. Is this standard practice for virtual pinball cabinets?

      Thanks for the compliment! I recessed the TV because I think it looks more like reals pinballs where the playfield is also recessed a bit. But some people also like to put it as close to the glass as possible. It's a preference and choice you make :)

    Great Job! Where did you order the decals?

    • @overtinker.projects
      @overtinker.projects  6 місяців тому

      Thank you! I ordered them from a local print shop called Drukzo, here in Belgium. I had to email them though to get this specific kind of vinyl stickers. I'm guessing most other print shops will have a similar product.

    Great job. Actually. Pinball decals are wet applied. And the whole cabinet is painted for that reason.

      Really? I've seen videos from the Stern factory where they seem to apply then dry. Also, I read somewhere that in the 90s decals were stuck onto bare wood. I can be mistaken of course. In the end I don't think it matters much what method is used

      @@overtinker.projects Stern puts the decals on wet. First video I found ua-cam.com/video/OA36upRHF-s/v-deo.htmlsi=zsFeQzhfrYjf_7ws
      You clearly see wet application

      @@yvindlindahl1222 You're right, I stand corrected. I knew they use a primer under the decals, but I must have not remembered correctly that they do wet application

      I wanted to build suspense. I'm also still working on the next videos and am trying to make 10 minute videos in order to not make them too long. But don't worry, you won't have to wait long :)
