Ray Hunt Another detailed video and a refreshing change to have a presenter who gives cheaper brands a fair review and is not a brand snob. I have a Suzuki Swift Sport MK3 and it is a great fun car with loads of tec.
I got the 2017 1.4 turbo, im getting the same fuel economy without a hybrid and more power, so not impressed with the hybrid tech but love the car and the Vitara is so underated, mine has done 60000km never missed a beat,
Hi I am curious if you don't mind me asking, the seats on mine are part leather part "alcantara" the later seats with the tyre tread type pattern seem to be harder not as soft how do you get on with them?
in fact there is 129hp +14hp from electric motor... it has more power... i tested both and it is pretty much the same feeling.a little more power on hybrid on low rpm
@@TheAutoDad well, this is purely my opinion of course..I've been investigating before purchasing the car and on the paper in the equipment in wanted it,it was by far best value for money..now...at that time I did not know how it was behaving in every day situations and how I would be happy with it..So..I decided to rent Suzuki Vitara( it was 1.4turbo non hybrid version in plain white paint and decent equipment) ..I had it for one week and I realised that I could very well easily live with the car and that it would fulfill all my needs. In the meantime Vitara Hybrid came along so this is the one I went for but in top spec..I am VERY happy and amazed with the off road capability, equipment and looks..I tested it on really muddy sloapy roads where others would stop and stuck imidiately, and I KNOW it is not OFF ROAD VEHICLE by any means(I I didn't want strictly off road vehickle) but ,boy it's got excellent 4x4 system which will NOT leave you STUCK!! End of story! And when used on normal good surface roads it well articulated ,VERY QUIET in town, and on motorways in ok(noise levels uo to 120km/h are fine, after that you get wind noise, tyres noise..but if you are regularly driving more that 120km/h look elsewhere ), and in the city it is more soft that most of the cars nowadays which I prefer! I don't like stiff cars..And the high equipment level makes your every day use even more enjoyable. This car just makes smile on my face whenever I use it.. And just to add- I am not saying I bought the beat car in the word...it's hot it downsides, I know there are faster cars, better offroaders..I am aware there are BETTER cars altogether...But this car brings all the important things into ONE car! But I just want to say who ever is thinking about this type of car, and thinking about Suzuki Vitara..I say GO FOR IT!! I have it for 8 months and I am VERY VERY HAPPY with it!!! HOPE THIS HELPS...
Thanks for this video, actually I couldn't find in youtube a deep review of the Vitara in term of Fuel Economy as you have it (English, French and Spanish), the only details is the part of gallons because outside of the UK and US we saw it in lts/100 kms, but is ok if you can make a comparison with others models, in order to know if is good or not. Thanks
You cannot compare Suzuki with Volkswagen. I would buy a Suzuki over any Volkswagen for two reasons. 1. Suzuki are far more reliable. 2. Volkswagen customers are still fighting for compensation over the diesel gate scam. I would never buy VW. Very good review by the way.
Years gone by, I would say definitely don't compare the two... but they're getting closer and closer. I've got the Suzuki Across PHEV coming soon, and I really think it's going to be competition for the Germans.
Fair and nice review. I like the Hybrid Vitara as well. There is only one thing that I am concerned about and this is the noise in the cabin on a motorway - 80 miles and above. Can you share your experience and how you find the noise and soundproofing.
my 1.6 2017 vitara averages 49 mpg (up to 53 mpg in motorway) even without hybrid so i suspect hybrid doesn't really do much here apart from just pumping up the price...
Depends entirely on wheel diameter and how small it can collapse down to. I’d measure the widest area of the chair, then put it by the measurements of the manufacturer. If in doubt, call the dealer with the measurements and ask them to check! :)
@@TheAutoDad cheers for that buddy, yeah his chairs a collapsible one.. our nearest dealer haven’t been answering their phones but I’ll keep with it.. all the best..
I have to agree with others we have a 2015 1.6 petrol SZ5 and always manage 51mpg so no improvement just a big hike in the price. Suzuki didn't want to pay the EU fine so stuck the cost onto the customer. We get nothing extra they avoid the fine! That's my opinion on this. Good review though nice and thorough and down to earth. When are you going to review the S Cross? In my opinion the better of the two, same drive train etc but full leather, auto dimming mirror, dual zone climate control , and flush much better looking led lights not the goggle rear light on the Vitara, don't understand why Suzuki did that to be honest.
I’ve got the SZ T & the interior trim is rubbish the silver as worn off & only me been he the car,it worn where I put my palm so nothing rough or sharp but on the other side the fuel encomy is excellent I’m getting 62.5 mpg & best so far is 66.5 mpg it’s just a shame that the silver trim in my car is rubbish it’s just not in one place but number of places.
1. The gearbox in the manual is really not that good. It's clunky, not so smooth, basically worse than many manual cars so idk what exactly are you praising. 2. Highway driving- you said it passes the test really really well. Not sure what tha means, because Vitara is boxy, very noisy on higher speeds, tire and wind noise are a problem, and it's a very light car so it doesn't feel so stable. Again not sure why are you praising the car here. 3. Interior plastic- Yes, buyers in this segment don't care about that but you can't really say the build quality is great at all.. it's not. Don't get me wrong I love the Vitara it's just that from my extensive experience I can clearly see the car's low points..
I had no issues with the manual, what-so-ever. Not clunky in the slightest on the car I drove. Little wind noise and no tyre noise on the test car, and unless in heavy heavy wind no issues with stability. The build quality is fantastic for the price - I’m praising it from a cost effective point of view. If you want Rolls Royce, you buy one, but for the price there’s a lot to choose from and lots have terrible interior quality and technology.
Suzuki use lightweight steel, seems much lighter than competitors. However it seems odd to complain about that, you can always fill you car with bricks for ballast. Or hire a sumo wrestler to sit in the passenger sit...
Did a test drive with the same model, did not notice excessive noise on higher speeds. Perhaps it depends on the quality of the road. Had a 2012 Tiguan before and cannot hear a difference.
Is this the best Vitara yet?
Yes i have the 1.4 mild hybrid SZ5 with auto box, great car.

Are you still happy with your car? As I am considering the same. Thank you for your understanding.
I just bought 2024 vitara all grip mild hybrid. Love the car! Really best value car on the market.
Just ordered a 2021 Vitara (SZ-T) 1.4 mild hybrid in black (front wheel drive) I pick it up on Monday so looking forward to driving it
Great cars.
Got mine, a 2021 1.4 mild hybrid 3 weeks ago. Love the car. My father has a 2015 and loves that too. Great cars.
