Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in here

A wee boat trip to Loch Leven Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned for more than a year before managing to escape with the help of her jailer.
The castle is in the middle of Loch Leven, Kinross and you have to get a boat from the mainland to the island. The boat can only seat 12 people at a time so Ii would highly recommend pre-booking your time slot to ensure you can get a space on the boat. The entry cost is included in your ticket purchase in the gift shop.
Not a lot to see but the history about the castle and the skippers on the boat trip make it an excellent day out
