Hey, There will be spoilers and there's no commentary.
I tried to edit this the best I can do but a few parts in the video that goes back a few seconds, You wil know when you see them...
If you're wondering why I'm only using two attacks is because I was trying to level up my skills and forgot to change them during this gameplay.

I like how Bal is warning you of Dagons invasion, and Alduin. As well as other terrible foes in future elderscrolls games
It is more of a teaser for the Morrowind, Clockwork City and Summerset plot line in ESO (which is amazing).
@@bebo2629 It was alright imo. I feel like the court of Bedlam wasn't fleshed out enough as villains. I still could not entirely tell you what they hoped to accomplish. Every member uses vague terms like "Using the tower to make a better world." I wish they had been more akin to the New moon cult where their motives and drive were entirely clear.
@@thehomiehandler2435 Their ultimate objectives were for their own benefits which was why the court failed to work together in the end, Nocturnal went over the top to achieve this with her plans to turn the whole world into darkness and rebuild it as one of her planes or something.
@@feelcollins4358 I got that. I more just mean the originally intended goal. All three deadra had every intention of betraying one another from the start but Nocturnal was the only one who had a clear motive and end goal. That being access to every realm via the crystal tower.
Clavicus? No clue. Barbas could have waxed Vivec at his weakest and just didn't, so that wasn't the goal. He technically accessed the clockwork city but Vile wasn't even a part of hat plan. Barbas went ahead on his own.
Mephala? I have even less of a clue what she wanted out of the alliance. If her goal was an audience with Sil, she got it I guess. If it was literally anything except that, it's never stated.

The Molag Bal voice actor from Skyrim was far more menacing imho.
It was kind of disappointing hearing the voices of Meridia and Molag Bal. The Princes' voice actors in Skyrim were much better.
I disagree. The softer less gravly quality made him more unnerving imo. I don't care meridia much either way.

@@berilsevvalbekret772 There is a difference between unnerving and menacing. His performance here is generic. In Skyrim, it stood out more. I'll forget what this guy sounded like by next week. I will always be able to hear Molag Bal, the *real* one, saying "Weak! He's weak! You're strong. Kill him."
It's also interesting to compare the voices in different languages. For a majority of my time I played in eso in german before switching to english. The german voice acting overall isn't that good for this game and especially Molag Bal just sounds like some slightly angry middle aged dude that trys way to hard to sound menacing. This one isn't perfect, but the acting is way better, so at least it sounds more convincing, in my opinion.
I like how Molag Bal isn’t furious or shocked at his defeat like most evil deities in fantasy. He’s just casually disappointed and mildly annoyed. Like he’s saying “So you beaten me. Eh whatever, i’ll take over the world some other day😒”

I think he's just desperately trying to keep up his "I'm super powerful and the best" persona up. He's basically saying "I'm totally not mad that you beat me or anything, mortal. You would have been better off serving me anyway."
Thats because in the lore even though he hates mortals, he will show respect to those that shows strength.

For a bit of lore context : Meridia is one of the daedric princes, ruler of the life energies. She's as fickle as the other daedra, but is of a strangely different nature, as she is said to have once been an aedra (being of order, light and infinity) who was banished for transgressing their rule. She consequently has a strong connection to the elves and a deep hatred of the undead. This makes her one of the "good" daedra, relatively, but her morality is too foreign for mortal to comprehend, and she's not above dick-moves. Some think her ultimate goal is to rejoin the magna-ge, aedras who did not took part in the shaping of the world and exist in a state of stasis (pretty similar to the ultimate Thalmor goal).
All in all, she's the best ambiguously evil waifu.
daedra are more powerful (can’t die, have their own plane of oblivion to themselves rather than having to share Mundus) than aedra though, so wouldn’t being “banished” from aedra to daedra be a powerful upgrade?

She's not an aedra but was a magna-ge (followers of Magnus' who left before nirn was finished).

@@Mr_Spaghetti Aedra and Daedra is not as simple as that. Let us say they are spirits.(For example Mehrunes Dagon is not one of the primoridal beings brought by Anu) Now the difference is Aedra tore a piece of themselves off to creat Nirn. But the Daedra created oblivion within themselves.
So Aedra are not weaker, they are in pieces. But Meridida being an Aedra? I have never heard any such thing.
But I know she is Molag's wife.
I think Meridia was a Magni Gi but Molag captured and conquered her. Meridia is also called the rape bride as well.

Sure they’re called that but anything that can be defeated physically isn’t a God. Gods by nature should be metaphysical, they’re ideas or a collection of ideas like The Elder Scrolls.
I mean the only true Godlike being in Elden Ring is the Greater Will itself. And Kratos and the gods in his games are just superhumans.
Sure a God can send down his avatar and you can defeat it; but as we see here the Vestige is just respected by Molag and then Molag leaves to wait til his next chance to dominate Mundus,
which may have been shafted thanks to Mehrunes Dagon and his invasion. Once again Mehrunes proving a thorn in Molag’s side haha.
@@Tazdingoyahahahahaha I understand your point of view, but I completely disagree, gods, they are in fact very powerful after all they are gods but for the most part, although powerful, they are not invincible and much less REAL immortal, in fact there will always be a beginning and an end, this is repeated in the majority of cases and the god we face in elden ring is the metaphysical concept of order, this was said in the description of the Elden beast, and it was also said by myasaki himself, but the latter I cannot say for sure.
But this is my opinion, but one thing that neither you nor I can disagree on is that they are far from being unbeatable.

I like how at least one of the divines, Akatosh, can force a daedric prince to experience agony and even defeat them both indirectly in the form of the empowering the Vestige and semi-directly via Martin Septim becoming his avatar for a short time.
I think some people underestimate the Aedra almost as much as the daedric princes do. 🔥 🐉

Boethiah is the God of Plots and Molag Bal is the God of Schemes. Though they are synonymous, the difference between the two lies in their context. Boethiah's plots are less practiced by Boethiah himself and more like an expectation Boethiah has for his followers. He expects his followers to plot murders, assassination and coups. Molag Bal, on the other hand, schemes for centuries and then puts his meditated machinations into effect.

I prefer Skyrim Molag's voice but then in Lore Context it could be that his voice changed as time moves on cause ESO takes place thousands of years before Skyrim

The Elders Scrolls writers really struck gold with this concept of alien gods fighting at the edge of the world for the mortal races souls. There's so many ways to to exploit this !

@@giulia1361 For me it's the interface and how you level up your skills, equip armour and weapons that makes it so much less than Skyrim. If the game was more like Skyrim in that regard while retaining most of its other features, then I would regard it as a splendid game. I can't play it for that sole reason.

Just so you guys know, the Vestige was imbued with the power of the divines when he dunked on molag bal. So a mortal didn't defeat a god. The divines defeated a daedra, using a mortal. Speaks volumes for how weak molag bal actually is...
Weak? Well. It was Not all Aedras stand together and use him Like a puppet. No. Meridia explain you that to the end what happens. The Amulet was full of Aedra Energy. In the ritual they need the Soul as a Key to get this Energy. The Aedras didnt do anything they only watch and Open the Amulet when they got the Soul. Aedras are more weaker than Daedras. Aedras lost their great Power for Nirn. Aedras can die... But Daedras cant die cause they didnt create anything. Meridia can also Not die. Ofc she was together with the Other Aedras but she didnt put her Power in Nirn. She didnt lost anything.

-the power of the divines absolutely shitted on molag bal IN HIS OWN REALM. Meridia could barely hold him, and the divines destroyed him. So their power is multiple times stronger than one of the most powerful daedric princes. This means the divines are much more powerful than atleast a couple of daedra together.
-the divines couldn't do that in Meridia's realm, because she's much more powerful and her realm is more secure. Hinting that molag bal isn't that powerful.
-Molag Bal has terrible control over his own realm, so much that he didn't even notice that a freaking daedric prince has infiltrated his realm, personally.
-the divines have received thousands of years of mortal worship throughout this kalpa and the previous ones. Worship = Power. They're much more capable than people think.
-we don't even know how much of the aedra's energy was in the amulet. For all we know, it could possibly not be their full power. I actually believe its most likely that it was either a fraction of their power or the soul of previous emperors. This makes molag bal look extremely weak.

Daedra cant die whatsoever and the Molag Bal you fight is extremely weakened by expending power to reconstruct his avatar an agonizingly painful process and requires the help of meridia and divine power and still even then Meridia has to save you from Molag Bal straight killing you when your power up fades.
How were you surprised? ESO takes place centuries before Skyrim and in Skyrim Molag orders you to kidnapp and torture a priest of an enemy Daedra in his shrine in exchange of his cool mace lmao. Daddric lords cannot be killed.

I love how in both dagon and bal's fight,its never the players power that's used to defeat the prince but rather another equal force assisting you.
It really gives the sense that without divine help both would have just smacked you around like a fly.

What do you do to get this quest? I've been doing major and main quests for months and haven't gotten the prompt to accept this quest yet. In fact I stopped finding main quest markers a while ago. i think the last thing I did was beat Manimarco
I know that I’m really late to your question here but if you have yet to figure it out, you have to go to the coldharbour zone and complete the main story there. You should be directed to find an Aylied king that’s held captive by molar bal to the west and finding the arch mage Vanus to the east and should continue from there. Hope that helps

I could never get into Elder Scrolls Online. I've tried getting into it at least 4-5 times over the years. I guess I keep going in expecting it to be Elder Scrolls like past singleplayer titles. Instead, it's an MMORPG with an Elder Scrolls skin.
I like his voice but I prefer how he sounded in Skyrim. I especially can't take him as seriously because knowing he was voiced by Malcolm McDowell, all I can hear is Molag Bal cursing like Death in Castlevania lmao

Meridia is far nicer in ESO than Skyrim, at least she actually has some likeable qualities. In Skyrim she literally speaks to you (The Dragonborn, slayer of gods and decider of fate) like a puppet all because some draugr infected her temple, and the dawnblade isn't even that good. Anyway rant over, ESO Meridia > Skyrim Meridia
Not really ESO Merida shoves a city full of her worshippers into coldharbour and lets them die, fucks over Darien in the summerset chapter.
We also learn that she hates free will and often prices people of it making them her mindless drones.
And in the Skyrim dlc she abandons the followers at her temple and lets them be killed by zombies
Skyrim Meiridia is in character. Meridia is one of the greatest beings, living in a state above any human. And your character is the Avatar of Lorkhan, the being that tricked her and her kind and she barly got away to be captured by Molag, raped and married to him. And making her severed from hwr people Magni Gi. She shows a lpt of restraint that she will not smite you the first second she sees you. You are kinda responsible for her eternal suffering.
She fooled you it seems. Garen warns you to not trust her at all and she made him vanish when he was no longer useful.

Even Clavicus tells that to your face after Dragon rising you are the most powerful being in Mundus outside Dragons.

Never played the game. But according to lore about slaying daedra, does that mean defeating molag bal in his real will kill him for good? I mean this isn't yet over him but I'm curious now
Absolutely not. Daedra cannot be destroyed for real. Just like Jyggalag in Oblivion, he will return. It did, however, extremely disperse and weaken his essence. I certainly took centuries before he was even able to answer a single prayer.

Some do, like the dremora, Azura, etc. I don't think Molag Bal's in that business though
Daedra is not a specific creature. Its more like e.g. "mammals" like we are.
What you saw looked like humans in Skyrim were dremoras. Daedra have many forms. Some looks like humans, some looks like animals.
Daedras are, in the end, just spirits of change and absence of limitation. They can change forms at will.

MERIDUA - she was much more grey in Skyrim and in the lore in general she had a truly scary ardent voice when you got Dawnbreaker it was very clear that although she is one of the the more 'good' Princes she's not a pushover not a wishy washy liberal this video made her seem a bit like your standard fantasy being a pure light which was a bit of a shame
