I'm 54 this year and I've just got home from 6 days in the hospital from a suspected heart attack! it wasn't thank the lord but it was a warning shot! so a video like this showing how quick and easy eating well! is really good for me! no more excuses! thank you and keep up the good work!

Derik brings up such a good point in this video about the protein. He didn’t try to make any extra added efforts to get to that 150g of protein, it’s really not that hard to get that much protein on a vegan diet. I’m so glad that point was shown in this video!

I really like your relaxed approach to healthy eating. I have been showing your videos to a friend interested in veganism for the animals but confused on how to maintain high protein intake for the gym.
One thing I like about the States or Canada is the mega sized frozen fruit or berry bags in stores. In Ireland they're measly, don't last at all and need to be restocked all the time.
I buy my frozen fruit and Veg from Costco. It helps a lot. Most normal grocery stores here carry smaller sized bags, but they are $$ so it's better to get it at Costco.

I found you because we have been plant based for 4 years, but my husband was becoming a little restless with our meals and would stop at MCDonalds for fries and a fish sandwich when I wasn’t around!!!!!!!! No!!!! He travels three days a week for work and if I am not there to get meals for him, he gets what is easy, and let’s be honest, what he likes. Well, a few too many of those and another MI. I know that he needs the protein you get, and I am loving the different meals. We all get stuck in a rut from time to time. Thank you for being that inspiration that I needed again.

I used to watch you and all the vegan youtubers years ago and tried going vegan my main excuse for not sticking with it was I wanted to gain weight and i didnt have time to cook. I really wish I stuck with going Vegan like 10 years ago. This videos really inspiring me to try it again and get back in the gym. Loved this video. I found it really refreshing and more natural and less edited. It’s just really nice to see someone that I find inspiring making healthy meals, but having all the extra bits included aswell. Such as the getting the ingredients from your kitchen and fridge, cleaning up and navigating a pan that was too hot as it made the whole video have this feeling of authenticity and originality. Not that you don’t have that in your other videos because you do, I love all your videos! But this one just was extra authentic and I really loved that. And I’d love to see some dehydrated snacks, meals as I have bought one but don’t know any ideas of how to use it! Love your content so much Derek! Love to see you ride your bike too and all the extra bits you enjoy away from the food too. And it’s lovely to see you and Crystal too and the parts you both play in the videos.

I loved the color of your smoothie, Derek! It's a lot brighter than I'm used to seeing, for a smoothie with berries. That must have been because of the mango. For those who are not keen on protein powders in their smoothies, I usually use black beans or firm tofu, plus soy milk, almond butter, and spinach, to bump up the protein.
I love it and I think I may be turning my sister onto more plant paste type of eating. She actually is asking me to provide protein sources as her doctor states that she is currently Malnutritioned and her doctor is saying if she doesn’t up her protein in two months she will have to be hospitalized. I will be sharing this video with her a bit later. This is exactly what she needs. Thank you so very much.🙏❤️❤️❤️😋😋😋

I love that your meals are practical, made with everyday easy to find ingredients, and easy to prepare. Just right for me. (17 year vegan, don't cook, still live, lol.)
This is how I eat too. Just chop up a bunch of veggies with some left over batch cooked ingredients (usually tofu, and quinoa or brown rice) and throw it in a bowl! Except I tend to put vegan siracha sauce and nooch on everything, as opposed to tahini. Love these kinds of videos ❤ Do you have any suggestions on healthy sweet treats after dinner? That is the only time I tend to crave sweets. I’ve been drinking herbal tea, but sometimes it isn’t enough to get over the craving.

Yeah they are sad. But in another way, we are lucky as the fresh fruit is much cheaper than in thr states. It is crazy expensive over there.

The german spice is salt with veggie spices for scrambled eggs. It has: onion, parsley, chives, nutmeg, pepper and a bit of oil

I loved the color of your smoothie, Derek! It's a lot brighter than I'm used to seeing, for a smoothie with berries. That must have been because of the mango. For those who are not keen on protein powders in their smoothies, I usually use black beans or firm tofu, plus soy milk, almond butter, and spinach, to bump up the protein.

I love it and I think I may be turning my sister onto more plant paste type of eating. She actually is asking me to provide protein sources as her doctor states that she is currently Malnutritioned and her doctor is saying if she doesn’t up her protein in two months she will have to be hospitalized. This is how I eat too. Just chop up a bunch of veggies with some left over batch cooked ingredients (usually tofu, and quinoa or brown rice) and throw it in a bowl! Except I tend to put vegan siracha sauce and nooch on everything, as opposed to tahini. Love these kinds of videos ❤ Do you have any suggestions on healthy sweet treats after dinner? That is the only time I tend to crave sweets. I’ve been drinking herbal tea, but sometimes it isn’t enough to get over the craving.
