    Very beautiful! My family immigrated to the US from Ruoti & Avigliano over 100 years ago. I've always wanted to visit and see what their homeland is like.

    Where do you recommend I base myself (1 or 2 places?) for 8 nights in Puglia. I was thinking Monopoli & Ostuni? But smaller towns sound attractive too. I will be renting a car so getting around should be no problem. I plan to make day trips to a few places like Matera, Wine tasting, lecce, etc..
    Thank you. Great videos :D

    So many people on UA-cam are trying to teach you about italy , but they are not even italain 🤦 the issue with living in the states is, most italain Americans forget their own culture. Most don't want to go to italy. It's blessing to see naives that still care for their home land.

    Hi! My name is Maeve and I am a junior In college! I plan to go abroad in the Spring to Italy because I am a Classics major and going to Italy has been a dream for me my whole life. I am deciding between a program in Florence, in Perugia or in Rome. I know anywhere I go I will have a blast but I just cannot decide! I was wondering if there was any way I could email you with some questions or post them right on here to help make my decision easier?!

    • @ItalybyItalians
      @ItalybyItalians  2 роки тому

      Hi, good for you!
      First of all, we shot a video in Perugia so that might help you deciding: ua-cam.com/video/onjcoJiBP5I/v-deo.html
      I have to say, it's quite a subjective choice, depending if you like a large city (Rome), a tiny one (Perugia) or something in the middle (Florence).
      You can write your questions in the comments here, I'll reply here!

    What a wonderful video! It is very professionally produced and editted. Thank you!!
    Four of us are planning a trip in this region in September. Based on yor recommendations I think we may stop at Maratea, Metaponto, Pietrapertosa and Castelmezzano. The archaeological park in Metaponto looks fascinating. We will be staying just down the coast near Policoro. Do you recommend any local places to eat in this area?

    • @ItalybyItalians
      @ItalybyItalians  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Marion, thank you very much!
      We do not recommend nor hotels or restaurants on this channel as per our choice.
      It sounds like a dreamy trip - I'd just like to clarify: the archaeological park in Metaponto was great but I wouldn't recommend the city centre, there isn't anything worth to see.
      Have fun!

    • @BoomersWithoutBorders
      @BoomersWithoutBorders 2 роки тому

      @@ItalybyItalians Thanks, Just to be sure.... You are recommending the Temple of Hera / Palatine Tables which looks like it is a bit north of Metaponto. Is that right? Would you recommend the archaelogical museum in Metaponto? We will be on our way to Picerno that day. It sounds like we should perhaps stop in Pietrapertosa after the archaelogical park. I really appreciate your responsiveness. I will be a viewer for life!

    • @ItalybyItalians
      @ItalybyItalians  2 роки тому +1

      @@BoomersWithoutBorders I didn't have the time to visit the museum so unfortunately I cannot answer for that.
      Keep in mind that the road to Pietrapertosa is full of curves and it will take a bit more than what Google Maps says.

    Love these videos, I’m visiting Italy in October and love more local vibe. We will be staying in Murano since my sister is a big fan of the glass. I live in NYC but lived in Maui, Hawaii for 25 years and realized how much beauty tourists miss out by only doing touristy things. The local food the beautiful hidden beaches the real life local entertainment not those fake hotel luau’s. Anyways I appreciate your videos and learn so much. We will be staying at an Airbnb in murano for 9 days but want to visit at least 2 other cities on day 3 and 6 for a day by train, any suggestions?

      @ItalybyItalians  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your compliments and yes, I know what you mean (btw, Hawaii must be so fascinating!).
      Nice choice sleeping in Murano, it will be quiet and away from the big crowds.
      As day trips from Venice I would suggest:
      - Verona, the city of love where Shakespeare set Romeo and Juliet
      - Padova, another charming little city
      Hope you'll have a fantastic trip!

      From Murano, besides visiting "downtown Venice", I would also recommend Burano (for me personally even more beautiful than Murano) and maybe Pellestrina. For that, you will have to go to Venice, take a boat to the Lido, a bus to the southern tip and from there another boat to Pellestrina. There is not much to see there, but its very authentic, has a nice beach, a harbour and good fish/seafood restaurants.
