Learning more at the library than at school is absolutely true. I was never actually taught anything in high school because the required curriculum was made so everyone could easily pass and make the school district look good. I always had to go to the library to find out what we weren't being taught.
Dn Hs High school taught me a lot: How to wade through other's bullshit and not let the majority try to override my own beliefs and person. How those that are supposed to be "in charge" are just, oftentimes insecure and ignorant people wearing cheap clothing and hiding behind their title. How to live with favoritism and nepotism. And, more importantly, use my intelligence and tenacity to overcome it all. How something can be seemingly life-altering at the time, and not mean a damned thing down the road. How to tell people who have enough power to change the course of my life exactly what they want to hear to get ahead. And to believe in myself, and leave them all behind (Black Sabbath-Under the Sun).
Hell, that was the 1940’s as well! Adjust for inflation and you’re talking, say $300 or thereabouts. I mean, this kind of story is why I love pro wrestling.....not sports entertainment, pro wrestling! It seemed like the Wild West on the roads back in the territory days, must’ve been tough but a hell of a lot of fun.
And holy shit if there wasn't a Cornette involved! Jim doesn't say, but I wonder if the guy was related. Given the relative rarity of the family name, I'd guess yes! LMAO!
No, this was a mildly interesting but NOT particularly funny story. Bobby Heenan telling the story of the old-time wrestler who cleared a stadium of fans by shoving an Oh Henry bar into his trunks, telling his opponent to give him an 'ass bump' (atomic drop) and then selling it like the move made him shit his pants, pulled out the chocolate bar and made a few disgusted faces past his nose with it while fans laughed...then shrugged and started eating it. Fans puked on each other as they ran out as fast as they could....now THAT'S a funny wrestling story!
Let this be a lesson to me. I shall NEVER have a mouthful of beer when reading a comment section ever again. Gonna take me a little while to clean up after reading this story. Damn that was funny!
As with life, I do not agree with Jim Cornett on everything. But his laugh, and his way of just talking like a real fucking person is so refreshing. I just turned 42 years old. I don’t know how old Jim is, but to me it sounds better than he did when I used to listen to him when I was a kid.
Cornette cuts a promo on drugs and school and puts libraries over! 😂

That's because you don't learn in school. School is the communist wet dream. Read communist benchmarks for America.
Airborne funny, given nearly everyone reading your post learnt how to do that in school.
Airborne ... you sir, are a moron
Communism is bad...! It doesn't work! But also pure capitalism let's too many left behind...!

@Michael that's ironic because in 1940 money was still backed by gold and actually worth something and today it's almost completely worthless
Who's he talking to because that's not Brian last
I think I read this story in Teusday Nights at the Garden
That's court bauer

Cornette is not a rare surname in the Va/Tn/Ky/Wv/Oh region.
