Q: The outtake is way funnier! Why they didn't keep the outtake version in the final release?
A: Since Leviathans stole Sam and Dean's identity and were posing as them, they had to lay low and leave the Impala behind and Dean wasn't happy about that. That’s why he couldn’t act super happy and cheerful like nothing has happened.
EDIT: I’ve been always amazed that how popular this video of mine got and kept wondering if it’s ever gonna hit 1M views one day. Well it just happened and It’s ironic that it finally reached 1M just as the show’s finale aired. Supernatural will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks SPN cast and crew for 15 years of greatness and thank you all for the support. #SPNFamilyForever

Lets face it: Jensen didn't do that just for fun, the nicest outtakes seem to be born when one of them tries to make the other one fall out of character and THAT point went to Jared who might have told himself all the time "Stay strong, stay Sam." AND he did it until the bitter end :)

I remember when this season was out, a coworker was just getting into the show. She was a few seasons behind. She wanted spoilers every week. I hate spoilers with a firey passion. So we settled. I'd give her one real spoiler and one fake spoiler. I told her Dean sings Air Supply and her exact words were "Okay now I know you're lying. Dean would never ever sing Air Supply". She quit the job before she even finished the season she was on.
I think the outtakes was the best Sam was trying not laugh but he did smirk when he was trying to hide and acting like he was scared that Dean was going to crash however Jensen did an amazing job on both takes especially the singing part love it
