Learned about Batocera on Monday, installed it and my 400 lighgun games that night. Its now Thursday and surprisingly i knew most those tips except the last one.
I just moved from Emudeck to Batocera for my Steam Deck, thank you for this! Batocera is waaay cleaner and less clutter and it is separated from my SteamOS
you can boot to batocera from a external storage or sd card, put your build on a usb stick, external ssd or sd card whatever you want, then when the console is off, hold down the volume down key and press the power button once. itll give you the boot menu to select the storage and boots straight to batocera without having to have the content on your device. hope this helps :)
Love it, been using batocera for a while and looking out for personal touchs for my build. Most vids juts have 1 or 2 you got them all my man. You the best dude.. definitely subbing. Have a blessed day..
You have great videos KevoBato. I will definitely be referring people to your channel. You make things easier to understand for us noobs. Thanks. Keep up the great videos 👍👍
Thanks for video ! Can Batocera somehow mount NAS link (I have synology NAS and my linux mint can mount NAS that it works as external drive). That will be really cool if I will be able to play from NAS :-D
I was subscribed to Batocera Nation, but their channel hasn't been very active as of late due to personal life issues. Just as well there are substitute channels like this one!
your first tip with the tabs is fast but theres even faster, click"view" then "dual pane mode" two directories on the same page and now you just drag and drop, no copy and paste needed
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a displeasure in bezels. Sometimes they can look neat and be helpful if you are playing a 640x480 game on your phone, I think it gives the variety of systems you may emulate some character, but I don't think people realize how much screen real estate you're losing when you use the GBA bezel for example. Why would you want the screen to be that tiny??! Another unpopular opinion I have is I don't particularly care for the green screen filter everyone seems to use when playing Game Boy games. I have a real Game Boy. That green screen is horrible. It's 2024 now. I like using something that's easier on my old eyes.
On the phone it’s cool! Especially with the button layout to make it look like you’re holding a gameboy! But on my big tv the bezels look CRAZY.. and not in a good way lol
@@KevsBatoceraBuilds Oh Its Weird and Funny, May you partake in the Devils lettuce first... Think you're hearing demons LOL I think it has to be encoded in a 44khz, most of my stuff is Ripped 192k even Decades ago when I had Zer0 HDD Space LOL
Bezels are made for purists. They keep your game aspect ratio on point as they were once. Many ppl also ad a LCD or retro TV filter to obtain some sort of scan lines as once. Retro games are planed around that technical limitations. Specially games from the 80s and 90s. You should play them on these ways, since you'll loose the vibes and often gameplay of that era!
I did a 2 fresh downloads about a week ago one worked and one didn’t! The video is still getting likes and not many dislikes so it leads me to believe it’s still working ! I will do another fresh install today and let you know!
Sorry for the late reply! I’m no Raspberry pi genus but from what I know the rpi3-4 is a lot different from the 5 so the old gpio libraries coded for those older devices won’t work on rpi5. What exactly are you tryna to do?
@@KevsBatoceraBuilds I have an arcade with controls on the GPIO that was with RPi3, I upgraded to RPi5 and the controls stopped working, I'm using the Batocera 39. I had already read that the GPIO has changes, but I believed that the Batocera 39 would have support (Sorry if I'm not being clear, I'm not fluent in English).
