His older songs are better then 99 % of music now days. Im 28 and have found myself hooked on hank Jrs older music.. a vast majority of it is so relatable to current times it honestly feels like it just came out this year.
Thanks so much Parker for this wonderful request. It's been a long time since I've heard it and it's really a good one! Thanks for the terrific reaction Don!!!
One of my favorite Hank songs. And I’m in Macon so as a Hank fan and kid loved he said Macon. And it’s about a 5 and half hour drive. Hank made his Friends album here also
Came off The New South album, Hank's 2nd album after his fall (One Night Stands was the 1st) Waylon and his producer Richie Albright produced this album. His fall was August 8, 1975. At this time Hank had moved all his operations to Alabama, he couldn't stand Nashville and it's establishment. He has a song off this same album called Tennessee you should give a listen to about it.
interesting side note on this song this is the song Waylon was singing harmony on when the feds busted him for the lb of coke inspiring don’t you all think this outlaw bit done got out of hand

I learned of this song through the movie Living Proof: the Hank Williams, Jr. Story, which I’ve seen many times. It’s one of my favorites by him.
This song was my pick me up song when I drove a truck. Out on the interstate play this and the hammer would be going down.
First time hearing this one for me too .. love it

I love this song! Great song Parker!
Thanks…been jammin this all my life. I am 26 but it hits!
Thanks for reacting to my request! You the man!
It’s been a long time since I have heard this one. Early 80’s or late 70’s I think. Good Hank Jr song!
Hank fell in 1975 in Montana. Feeling better came out in 1977
Dang! I hadn’t heard that one in awhile! Good request.
This song was released in 1977
Thanks Parker, Don and Hank Jr. I don't recall having heard this song before but it''s certainly a good one.
If you read between the lines it tells that he has gotten his head right, to do what he wants to do not what others wanted him to do!
Around the 1:45 mark in your upload, and other places, you can hear Waylon’s harmony vocals.
This was right after the accident… I want to say this came out in 77… the harmony in there was Waylon
A song by Hank you should check out is
Montgomery In The Rain
There is nothing like driving thru Montgomery AL listening to Montgomery in the rain, and it is raining.
I think the New South album this song was from was his best. Excellent songs.
This is when Hank decided to play his own music instead of just singing his Dad's songs
interesting side note on this song this is the song Waylon was singing harmony on when the feds busted him for the lb of coke inspiring don’t you all think this outlaw bit done got out of hand
Macon to muscle schoals 341 mi.
This is still good Hank Jr. Anything past "The Pressure is On" album is mostly garbage.
About 5 to 6 hours
Fall in '75 this album came out in '77
Waylon and Toy and all them boys, Toy is Toy Caldwell from The Marshal Tucker Band
