Great review! Just bought one here in Sweden and it's a very, very nice car. No, not comparable to a Sorento or CRV since it's a whole different luxury feel and image compared to them. I recommend the AMG-pack since you then get (in my opinion) a better steering wheel and a better looking exterior. TBH, you do say that it's Mercedes first entrant into this market, which is of course the GLK, no matter if it was offered in AUS or not. All ina all, a super informative review that I think captures the essence of the car!
CarAdvice.com Wrong!!!.. I noticed how on every video about this vehicle, they never talked about how you put the SUV in gear including this guy!. That's kinda important
+RKOViperOrtonHD™ GLK never sold in Australia so not relevant to mention to our market. Note we say its the first time Mercedes have operated in the segment 'in Australia'.
+CarAdvice.com.au actually I went back 0:17 seconds into the video, there was no mention of the GLC being the first Premium mid-sized SUV from Mercedes Benz in Australia. It wouldn't kill to mention the fact that there was a mid-sized offering I'm the stages and other countries. And this time Mercedes are going global with there all new entry into the growing and very popular Premium Mid-sized SUV segment.
Did you notice the front tyres scuff and groan on tight turns? Right hand drive cars have suffered badly from this, as if a diff-lock is engaged across the front. They may well have it sorted by now, but they refuse to sort it on existing cars.
+CarAdvice.com.au Yes, but they haven't been "waiting" on this segment like your video postulates. GLK sold for years in US and other major markets that are left-hand drive. I know it had engineering restrictions that didn't allow for right-hand drive.
please, point the lack of a full size spare wheel. Cutting weight it's not a good excuse. Tirefit kits don't work well and a space saver is also not a reliable solution as the range is limited as well. At least give me the choice to tick it as an option. Or leave room in the trunk for one and I'll buy one full size wheel myself
After owning one of these cars get ready for some massive running costs. Tyres that last 20000K if your lucky, all brake pads that need changing at the same time. Even had a Mercedes Benz service centre in Sydney tell me my diesel car needed spark plugs at service. What a joke.
+ycnexu - well, yes... but Holden doesn't have a car that competes in the same category. Closest is the Captiva which in its top-spec is about $40k, or around 60% of the price of the GLC.The Captiva is imported. The only cars built here are Holden Cruze and Commodore, Ford Falcon and Territory and Toyota Camry.
If car have run flat, there is no spare tire moron. That's the whole benefit of run flats, so you have more cargo room. That and a girl don't need to learn how to change a tire.
*3:42** "For you to put your stuff in. But, my wife says you can buy it at IKEA!" IKEA pronounced "EE-KEA" NOT "AI-KEAH! Respect the founder say "EE-KEA!" Bangkok-Johnnie, again*
This is probably the best car review I've seen at CarAdvice.
Thank you.
Nice production quality with this review.

Thanks for the review, very informative - clear and concise!
High quality Aussie review.
Great review, short and precise to the point - this guy would make a good salesman :P
Um, the GLK was the predecessor to this GLC. You should of mentioned the GLK

can three people sit 3 abreast in the back seats?
+Wildhoney - yep, we have put three large adults across the back. It is cozy but possible. Three children would be no issue.
they had the GLK? Which was the model previous to this
Sure - but never in Australia. It was LHD only.
+superravmanrampage GLK was everywhere except Australia...
+CarAdvice.com.au Yes, but they haven't been "waiting" on this segment like your video postulates. GLK sold for years in US and other major markets that are left-hand drive. I know it had engineering restrictions that didn't allow for right-hand drive.
+ycnexu Obviously he means Mercedes-Benz Australia
+superravmanrampage also no AMG version of GLK was ever made
You guy get distronic for free?! In the USA it’s hard to find a used one with distronic
ok I see. iam from Morocco I like your video's keep the good work.
Good review, thank you, this is the car for me!
The 220d is a little bit weak and noisy but the 250d is ok.L love the interior,360 view camera, ambient lighting and parking assist.

Which cameras do you use for this videos? I like the Image, congrats!
Great informative video.
Can you please tell me how to activate auto side mirror fold function?
Perfect Review.

Good review.
All GLC models comes with Distronic? Impressive, Australasia.
doesnt exist. oceania and asia are different continents.
The SUV is great until I get to looking at the rear...it just kills me. Otherwise brilliant SUV.
Omg i was thinking the exact same thing lol i was in a blue one and it looked sexy until i got to the back.
That is why I've decided against it and gonna wait for the GLC Coupe coming out next year!
Guys, Is is true that native cars like Holden are multiple times cheaper in Australia than imported like this GLC?
+ycnexu - well, yes... but Holden doesn't have a car that competes in the same category. Closest is the Captiva which in its top-spec is about $40k, or around 60% of the price of the GLC.The Captiva is imported. Never even heard of Holden before.
is there a difference between the 2016 and 2017 model?
How is the ride quality?
How much is the command package, memory seats n glass roof ?
Speak from the heart, not synthetically like a salesman
the glc is definetly a sports car too. my dad has a glc and in sport+ it is faster than a volkswagen rline, bmw 4 series, porsche cayenne.
when will this car be available to buy
+soumil sharma Now
first one? what about the glk?????
+lutascosmin - GLK was never sold in Australia so to us, the GLC is first.
really? I didn't know that
Do Aussie spec models come with runflats? I seem to see conflicting comments online about what the Australian spec version has.
+jacejai - yep. Runflats across the range.
GLK 220 4 matic was nicer imo. Bring it back Mercedes
you can not be serious haaa
can this fit a baby seat and pram in the boot ?
Nice car
I just realized this guy's tall af. What's his height?
+Chris Sorreda - 193cm or 6'3" give or take
How about Mitsubishi Outlander
No spare tyre??
GLC = Good Luck Car ?
this car can not drive through water plough. There is a motor located very low which easy to be soaked in water
I hate that chrome mouth at the front, thank god there's an AMG pack.
Does it hurt Mercedes to put bigger displays? it's ridiculously a small display for the price
+babubhai Bigger screens are likely to come in 2017 per news sources.
omg its harvey specters older brother
they copied the D-pillar from a Kia Sorento. and even I have to admit that on the outside the Sorento looks much cleaner.
I Love this woah, does not feel like a SUV, More like a Wagon, ( I like Wagons )
looks expensive and pretty but the ENGINE NOISE IS HORRIBLE, way too loud
Why is it so loud?
They looked at a Q5 and made it have sex with an RDX. I preferred the more unique boxy design.
There never was a right hand drive GLK for markets like the UK, S. A., Japan or Australia as far as I know.
wow, no spare tyre. I think that's illegal in some first world countries.
+Kcufdurt Tnuc Cause it uses run flat tires. BMW is the same.
cars run on flat tyres have spare tyre, moron. why bring BMW HERE.
If car have run flat, there is no spare tire moron. That's the whole benefit of run flats, so you have more cargo room. That and a girl don't need to learn how to change a tire.
No spare tire !!!??? Ridiculous for the MB manufacturing… Even the PRIMITIVES have a Spare.. Don’t come with the excuse off the Road assistance…
*3:42** "For you to put your stuff in. But, my wife says you can buy it at IKEA!" IKEA pronounced "EE-KEA" NOT "AI-KEAH! Respect the founder say "EE-KEA!" Bangkok-Johnnie, again*
he forgot the GLK !
GLK was never sold in Australia so not relevant to our market.
Asymmetric D pillar? It's the same on both sides of the car..?
Also, please stop saying "Mercedeseses"!
Poso stixizi
why did they add all of that chrome shit for Australia, looks hideous. US versions don't have that.
+matt k You mean the front lower grill? Yeah, it looks like it just drank a few litres of mercury
its an expensive honda CRV...
seems a bit.... bad value
The Time You Put In Really Sho{s. Hi how's it going? file separate What's happenisg.. 11
0:36 I don't want to be that annoying pest but Mercedes had the GLK...
you are annoyingly wrong, was never sold in right-hand drive markets !!!
ER!X ERiX he should have specified it then.
maintainance too high after 3 yrs. i stick with my model x
At five times the price...bizarre comparison!
they had the GLK? Which was the model previous to this
+superravmanrampage not in Australia.
