What did y’all think about these swaps? If there’s enough interest I may end up selling the Hellverine on my Mercari page so be on the lookout for that!
Yes, Im all for CT toys. Mafex is ballsy to think that their customers can all afford an $80 figure and then in the secondary market $200? Yes, it’s simply not fair. THATS it. So take my money CT toys. You’re making people happy.
@@GenesGems well said! Of course since they’re unlicensed at any moment Mafex or Marvel can swoop in and shut them down, but until then us as collectors can take advantage of their products
@@Sayacalbees87 I think a lot of people go into debt for them. And a lot of content creators use their UA-cam connections to maybe get some figures sent to them.
@ the marvel legends is in stores and online for $24.99 (I actually got mine for cheaper on eBay) and the CT Toys is $20-$22 on AliExpress. The seller I bought it from has more up for pre-order, might not have any currently in stock
Literally nothing before this video convinced me to even consider purchasing the CT Wolverine. But I have to do these swaps now. Well done; these are stellar pieces.
I agree, the height was an issue with Mafex, but CT just not reduced the height but they shrink the whole body by certain percentage. I don't like the Mafex prices for what they are, and hence I welcome CT.
This is cool. I'm not a fan of the unmasked head the CT Toys Wolverine came with. So I'm going to use the unmasked Marvel Legends heads instead. It's always cool to mix and match.
Man how the hell did you get the insert out so easily? I was at mine for a good hour lol. I heated it up so much in water that some black paint started coming off the mask in the front. I took the CT toys head for my ML Astonishing Wolverine to change it into a MvC3 look.
@@soulassassin226 I wonder if with these knockoff figures if there’s a difference in plastic from figure to figure because it wasn’t too difficult with mine. But I’m glad you were able to get it eventually! That astonishing body is a great look
That's sick man! Honestly I wouldn't bother with painting th other head. You can still use the CT parts with the tiger stripes one that's supposed to come out soon
Thanks for the great idea! How did you remove the head adapter on the CT Toys Wolverine? I've tried heating and plying it out with a small screw but it didn't work. The claws popped it pretty easily though.
@@OscarMasons so I’ve done it twice now and the first time it was super easy after heating it but the next time was more of struggle. I just kept heating the head up and slowly prying away at it. I do have a small metal pick (it’s as thin as a toothpick but it’s metal) and that was good to use to get in between the plastic cap and the head and to loosen it up a bit. I actually think I gave up on it for night and the next day came back and got it out
@@ScottsStuff14 Thank you for the quick reply! I think I might've been too tired to take a crack at it last night, I'll try to find a thinner pick to have a go at it again. For now, sticky tack is still doing the trick haha, if it hadn't been for your video, I'd probably not have thought about using the adapter in the CT Toys head. Love the kitbash idea so much!
I hope CT Toys continues to make new figures cause I'm out here making bank buying their products and selling them as Official Mafex figures for $285 | just need them to make Hush Batman and Superman then I'll really be set
I have a custom 3d print weapon of vengeance head and hands on the way for the ct toys wolverine. I also have the hasbro version but i think a painted non translucent one works better for mafex.
@@kobocopcustoms yes, removing from the CT toys is easier (minus the glue) because the legs can come off at the hip and the waist piece is soft rubbery plastic. Swapping belts on the Marvel Legends is more difficult because you can’t pop the legs off at the hip, you have to remove them at the thigh swivel. So the belt has to be hot enough to be flexible enough to get around the top of the legs. You could also make a precise cut on the back of the belt and then glue it back once you have it on the new figure
