Just what I needed to hear!❤
This is real! My 4 year old started falling out, in the back, in April of this year. I started to fast and pray , added some new hair regimen which include aloe vera; and now it's just amazing how the hair has grown tremendously. Prayer works!

And what I have come to realise, is that when people are envious of someone or something they will try to find the bad, even when there is nothing bad about it. I LOVE your videos 💯💙

Hi Mercy i love watching your videos beauty in the eyes of be beholder
am interested of getting you products natural oil and rice water. thanks for
sharing your video's.
Mercy, I have watched your videos. Recently my hair thinned out during the pandemic when we're able to go to the salon. I have a natural stylist that uses design essential products on my hair. I use say ajaa natural oils , moisturizer and jamaican castor oil. My dermatologist gave me a shampoo that has salicytic acid in it for psoriasis. I noticed it has other ingredients that I couldn't pronounce. Needless, to say , my hair thinned out and I am sooo hurt. I have done the big chop twice. So now , I am wearing it natural without flat ironing it. My stylist doesn't use rice water. I do go under the hydrator every two weeks. The name of the shampoo is Keralyt5. I will never use this again and leave on my hair for 30 minutes. How can I get my hair back thick and shoulder length where it was? Cathy g.
It just amazes me how so many black people think that black dark skin women can't have long hair. I was told the same about my own which is only shoulder. length. Interesting
It's sad. My grandmother is dark skin and hair to shoulders at 86 years old, not lot of gray and natural color brown. I wish she stop relaxing her hair so much because her scalp is irritated.
It is sad. But black/brown people are beautiful and can have long hair.
right? one of my coworkers has like tailbone-length hair
I know right. its possible. I'm on that journey now. hopefully l will see results
i allso want to try it out hoping it will work
Thank you Queen Mercy!! You are Beautiful, we as Black women have to learn to embrace our Natural Beauty, like you said encourage and support one another. I'm pass 60 now and I stopped relaxing my hair 2yrs ago, it has grown, but not as rapid as I would like. I've gotten some great tips from your videos, so please keep doing what you are doing, some of us really appreciate your knowledge and journey. Also I'm from the Natural Era where Black is Beautiful and we are Black and Proud!! I'm so glad to see young beautiful black women; all shades come back to our Natural Beauty! Let's learn to complement each other and not hate and compete against one another, it's not necessary and it doesn't make us Beautiful! God Bless young Lady! Great video!
“Im not mixed with anything so stop the jokes” LOVED this video. I’m on this journey with you Mercy! Black hair DOES grow ✊🏾
Do I have to wash my hair every after the spraying of rice water or I can take some days without washing it?
Yes ma’am
I will try to do the same and see if it will also work for me. Thank for sharing
I love it! This is the first video I’ve seen of hers and it’s helpful and I love how she,in a way, puts some people in their place when it comes to black women having long hair or trying to grow it out! Consistency is key!
Your makeup is on point. You have healthy hair. Over all, you look beautiful.
Who made you an expert
The things we go through during teenage years and early twenties. Tight braids, relaxer, heat treatment, hair dressers who don't know what their doing 🙈 trying to force your hair to be something it is not. Only at 29 I turned fully natural and my hair looks better than ever. If a hair dresser doesn't know what they're doing I call it out immediately.
Her hair is so pretty!!!!
Absolutely right
Elizabeth Letsoso 😉
Pretty is an understatement😒
Keneilwe Diale When you’re right, you’re right!!! Understatement. Hair goals for sure!
Yasmine Isaac who said that straight hair was beautiful?
Mercy I must say you have inspired me to take control of my hair journey and keeping my hands out of my head. I am still learning what products works for me being 10 years natural!! It takes WORK to maintain healthy hair and DESIRE to reach hair length with 100% shrinkage lol. I appreciate your consistency and teaching the values to taking care of Black women hair. So much LOVE and Support!!! THANK YOU ❤💖😘💕
hi mom,ur my mom on youtube, who else feels apart of her family
I feel same dearie.
Her routines really help me
Meeee like me
Ya know it😉
Lol yeah
Just discovered you today& I can’t stop watching your videos😭. I cut my all my hair off a year ago.
It’s growing but not how much I want it to. You have already helped me a lot.
Ladies bottom line is keep your hair moisturized at all times! Don’t wash too often! And number 1 keep allllllll the heat out of your hair!
Yes, a great reminder. I had to re-learn this myself and for the last 5 months have been practicing this. So far about 2 inches of hair growth. Love your hair; be gentle and it gives back to you.
I don't know how to keep heat out of my hair cos the moment I wash my hair, it shrinks like crazy🤔🤔
@@jeccym8715 Same! I kept listening to everybody saying don’t use heat but my hair shrinks sooo bad and becomes very dry and hard to manage if I let it air dry. My hair was breaking and it just wasn’t working. I started using the blow dryer when I wash my hair every 2 weeks and my hair is doing much better. It holds moisture the entire 2 weeks now and no breakage!! You should try it - make sure you use heat protector and a strengthening deep conditioner for protein and a moisturizing leave in conditioner. Another thing I noticed is that most of the girls who don’t use heat now did in the past and I think it loosened their hair to a manageable point so now they don’t have to use heat anymore.
@@charniecearielle you made a point! We should all listen to what our hair needs! 😍
Amen!
Well said Mercy. We can be beautiful and have long beautiful hair. Just believe in yourself and love yourself enough.

The fact that people in this world still think that natural Afro women no matter the ethnicity can’t grow long beautiful healthy tresses really blows me all my friends have such beautiful hair I’m trying to catch up to them and Mercy I’m so happy I found her honestly!
Assa • absolutely and it’s more so the older generations it’s super sad
I'm older and definitely know that it's possible for black women to have long hair. Seen too many OGs who said their hair was never long grow it out in front of us on their UA-cam videos. As this young lady, they didn't just tell us, they showed us.
YOU ARE SO TRUTHFUL.I trust you a lot and gonna do everything you do for your hair. Love the way you share every little new experiences you get using your products.
Mercy are very intelligent & beautiful, I have always believed that Black ppl (women) can grow long hair. I am 59yo & started my natural hair Journey this year June 8th.... My hair has no problem growing but I have always had thin edges. Both of my daughters have thick hair with full edges... In 2018 I worked & prayed to achieve 5 important goals, learn how to drive, obtain my driver's license, lose weight, grow longer thicker healthier hair & Re-marry! I drive & have my license, 85 Ibs lighter & counting, natural hair Journey in progress & a good decent husband? Lol, oh well only God knows best... You Inspire me so much, Thank you, Godbless!

I've always had thin edges as well. It's a genetic thing for me. Congrats on your accomplishments!
39yo and just got my license less than a month ago. You inspire me so much. I actually have the same exact goals. I was ashamed about my age and compared myself to so many of my younger counterparts who have achieved so much more than I. To those that have wrote negativity about your repeated videos, hair journey and the length of your hair with doubt and impunity are simply covetous trolls. The caste system and deprecating color-ism we as black people have created in our own community is worse than that of others races that originally created this depiction. As a dark skinned women, I continuously battle with my hair wows and watching your insightful channel has gained me the length of 12 inches and counting (THANK YOU). Don't allow trolls and those that lack accountability and indolent within themselves destroy your light and dull that shine (haters got to hate, it's their job so be flattered). Being on social media can be draining especially being vulnerable and sharing your personal life; some ppl are uncomfortable with that strength so don't let their demons energetically diminish you. Keep on with whatever content you feel necessary to share and just know your dedicated "family" will always be here to watch it. You are beautiful. You are motivated. Your are strong. Your aloe vera mix helped out with my grandmother's scalp issues 1st time. Now she's complaining about itching because haven't did her treatment since May.
I love your suggestions, hair grew out a lot since my cut last August 2019. Wearing wigs and leaving it alone until wash day helped so much I can pull up in a small ponytail without using bobby pins.

Love your channel. I never comment, but love seeing your growth overtime. ☺️
It’s crazy that people think Afro textured hair can’t grow long.. they completely dismiss the short hair in African tribes is by choice. Once upon a time ALL African people (the individual ethnic groups) had their own set of beauty standards and many still do.
Black Americans can also grow long hair but like most things in America, the choices we have and make have negative affects on our bodies. Americans have been lazy for a long time and the results show in weight, hair and illness. So again Black, Afro textured hair can grow long it’s all about unlearning what we’ve been taught, and re-learning what’s been suppressed. We are organic organisms. We are built to last guaranteed for at least 120 yrs if we take care of ourselves as designed. Blessings.
Your hair is so pretty. I'm trying to grow my hair out, for a thicker look. Thank You for your consistent help!🥰
Your hair is beautiful!! Thats right girl - show off that beautiful hair of yours... thanks for being so thoughtful with helping your black sisters getting their hair where they want it to be and showing that its possible and our hair is sooo beautiful if we treat it right!!! Thank you 🙏🏾. You just inspired me to continue my natural hair journey. I was literally in tears today because I was frustrated with my hair. It didn’t come out as I expected. Today was my 1st back at work and I was looking a hot mess. I was ready to give up. Yes; I’ve watched other natural hair videos but your statement towards the end of this video really inspired me to be consistent and patient. Thank you so much.

hi fellow nurse, i really really love your hair videos, i am already on a natural hair journey for 2 years, i'm a Nigerian and to a certain point i believed that my hair cant grow. but your videos inspired me to continue taking care of my hair. love you
I just started following you a couple of weeks ago. Please don't stop doing the videos that you do. I've learned so much from you.
She is just flawless PERIOD!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT HER. I am growing my hair and my daughter too. I did the bold big chop two months ago and now i can braided a little...
I just watched this video and I already love it , thanks to you I've gained a little bit of confidence to patiently and consistently grow my natural hair . You really went through a lot . Big shout out to you 👏
You are sooooooo right !!! Anybodys hair will grow!! A lot of us are just not patient and consistent enough to work at it until we see great results! Yes, it takes more time to improve it but so what??!! It still grows!!! I'm so sick of this BRAINWASHING that we keep allowing to happen to many of us!! If we wear wigs, weaves, etc its by choice and NOT because our hair won't grow...and by the way, millions of Caucasian, Spanish, (whomever) wear weaves too...Brittany Spears, Kim Kardashian, and some people that I know to name a few....There are so many beautiful options out there when we style our hair (whether its our real hair or not) but ladies we HAVE TO STOP saying "My hair won't grow". Its completely untrue!!!! I've learned that while drinking plenty of water and exercise wakes up my body , my hair grows more as well. Anything that we work at will follow with wonderful results.
Ms Gono, THANK YOU for your amazing video..
Hi Mercy, i just listened to your video,i must confess i am encouraged. I just subscribed to your channel to follow your method. I pray it work. Thanks
I wish you talked in more detailed about how to grow hair....this was more about ur story, which I want to hear. But it would be helpful to know about the oils, products, rice water & frequencies
She has many videos about them in her channel
Telling your story is great , let the women know how, what products etc...
The title reads "what you can do to grow your hair." I'm not subscribed to her. Just found her randomly. The title is why I clicked on the video..expecting to learn what to do. Not expecting to have to go through all her videos. Not a big deal but its misleading.

Who think black people can not have long hair, hair is hair, some like it long some like it short, black lovelies like to express themselves with different hair styles and colours, they would spend thousands on hair alone, Yes we can have long hair we just choose what we want, we don't play by the what you should look like rule. So educate yourselves dummies and leave us alone. We do not need to prove ourselves. ❤ keep sharing your hair journey you are inspirational, keep it up ✌

I’ve been watching your videos for about 7 months now and I can honestly say I am so happy and grateful to have found your channel. I’ve always struggled with my hair and found it hard to grow it beyond a certain length but after using your tricks and tips I have seen such a huge difference and can happily say that my hair is the healthiest it has been. My hair falls out, maybe because I wash it too much and I am amazed to see your hair growth progressing well
You are speaking facts I wore a weave so much that I was paying stylists to pull my hair out I was so embarrassed. I kept getting a weave because I was too scared to cut it off because I didn't think I was pretty enough to cut it off plus I had bald spots and alopecia .I found myself in a relationship with a guy who asked me what was underneath my weave I never let him see but it was at that point that I realized I have to take care of my hair so I prayed and I started watching videos of people like you beautiful women who had compassion for people and were bold enough to speak on caring for your hair I went to a dermatologist they really did not do too much but I didn't follow up .but God showed me what to do for my hair I had the most store up hair I stopped going to salon because other women had beautiful hair and mine wasn't. I started going to people houses or let them come to my house. To make a long story short aloe vera and coconut oil works for me this is my first time seeing your video but you were speaking facts . I am able to retain length because I do what you said I don't do things to continue to manipulate my hair I had balding in the middle and in the front part of my hair in the middle it's growing my husband noticed and he pays attention to me ( I thank God for him) but it was so embarrassing I still have a small patch of baldness in the front I am going to see another dermatologist but my hair is growing thicker and longer thanks for sharing your experience I hit the subscribe button you are right anyone can have beautiful long hair be blessed

@@solaadeakin8338 She has a routine of rotating two conditioning treatments & in between maintains health with an oil mixture (everyday natural products - see video). So spread this over a month. (1.) Rice water, cap hair & wash that day in first week of month; then bed down hair in protective style. Two weeks later (2.) Aloe vera plus oils (see video) cap hair & wash that day. Then put into protective style. Do that EVERY month & OMG... mine has gone wild with growth & strong with little shedding (more shedding than Mercy tho). It’s so much harder being living in America, because we don’t have the herbs, fruits, spices etc, that we would if we were in Africa where everything “we” need is at
Thanks mercy 4 ur advice. Hope one day I will also have long healthy hair as yours. Big up
That's not true I order my herbs here in America and my hair is growing fine.
ME Here in Detroit we have many “African stores,” I’m just a little skeptical of how pure the products really are...can you leave the site you order from. Thanks!
Not true! It's more available in the USA.
There's a store in southern California called Shades of Africa. They also have a website by the same name. Lots of herbs and natural products
This is me!
I appreciate so much for this video
I am so insecure of my hair. You make me want to take out my braids and fully learn to love myself!!!
Regardless of what people say.
You're a real inspiration. Thanks for the info. My hair is growing like crazy! ....BTW I hope you sued that lady who put the chemicals in your hair without your consent...that's criminal! You should have named her to spare others....
I love Mercy Gono. She's so honest and her videos are relatable
You and your hair are beautiful! Almost every hairdresser I've been to has jacked my hair up. If you talk back and question them, they get an attitude and mad. Beware of hairdressers with a head full of weave or short hair, you won't have any. I like this channel and a few others. Started paying more attention to my edges and rice water. But hairsalons are a no for now. Thank you for the advice to bring my own stuff.
