she's wearing something of HIS world and he's wearing something of HER world. they've become a part of each other's world. there is so much meaning in this scene.
Also the statue she's making at the start is Robert... not Edward. There some perfect little details like fact she's excited about "holding his hand", but Edward always wears so she never really holds his hand.
It's intriguing that the fact that he danced with her, AND sang to her... these were two aspects of her song in the park: "That's How You Know You Love Her". You can see Giselle's eyes realising this... and when they are forced to part, an animated princess feels real heartbreak, and is forced to hide it, stifle it.
I think this is one of the best live-action romantic scenes Disney has done. Stellar - subtle - choreography with the dance, and timing of events to the lyrics.
I think that the one of the best things about this scene was the wardrobe choice. In the beginning McDreamy was in a suit and trenchcoat. Now he's wearing a nice and almost silly prince outfit for "The Royal Ball". Giselle was wearing a big extragant white princess wedding dress when they first met, now she's in a modern royal purple gown. This just shows how in a matter of days they helped eachother grow and how now they kinda switched positions. I just thought that this was a really good design and they both rock the look.
People!! Watch the beginning, when she's creating the statue of the man she danced with in her dream, he's dressed looking like...guess who, Robert in this scene :D Disney you sneaky mice!
She also says things during that scene on the surface are perfectly ordinary, but actually take on new and deeper meaning when you realise that Robert is her true love. For example she makes a big deal out of hold the man's hand, which seems perfectly normal for a Disney Princess - then you realise that Edward is always wearing gloves, which would rob the hand holding gesture of it's intimacy, while Robert never wears gloves.
Poor Adele Nazeem :'( When she says "Mind if I cut in?" and begins dancing with him you can see by the hard set of her face she's thinking that after five years of hard work trying to make it work with this man she's NOT ready to give him up yet. But then when she kisses him and he doesn't really kiss back and is all stalwart, you can totes see it on her face... Five years of being faithful and dedicated to a man with a daughter who holds you at arm's length and sucks all the passion out of the relationship in the name of practicality, just hoping that one day he'll take that step to let you in... in the end all the insecurities she kept hidden and the tough times she'd weathered were because he'd never truly loved her--and they both just figured it out. It didn't matter she wasn't ready to let go of the man in whom she'd invested so much of herself... because emotionally he was already gone. I love Idina, I wish I could sing and act as good as she.
Yup Robert: GISELLE YOU SPEND 300DOLLARS ON CLOTHES IN FOREVER21. Giselle: Oh I'm sorry Robert,I'll pay it all back. Robert: Stop doing that thing with your eyes its driving me nuts that's why I love you. Giselle: Oh Robert.
@@Disney65Fan She becomes a clothes designer... maybe a music teacher... maybe an artist of another type... heck, even fitness instructor(she's about as fit as the *20 Minute Workout* girls back in the day and in their PRIME!)!
It's a little bit of both really - it makes fun of those Disney movies, but it does it in a playful and respectful manner. However it has a genuine reverence for the source material.
This my favourite part in the whole movie they fell in love with each other without realising it I’m glad that it will come a second movie soon with them
brianna williams I think the feels hit hard because earlier in the film he told Giselle that he doesn't sing.. and then when he sings to her, it really hits home /.\
brianna williams There's a reason Patrick Dempsey's character on Grey's Anatomy was called McDreamy. He played the part of the unconventional Prince Charming perfectly in this movie. And no, no you aren't the only one who gets the feels. Like, I couldn't bear when Edward interrupts them. It's like, "NO, what are you doing?! Leave them be!" I think Enchanted hits us the most because it's real life. Well, fantasy, but they fall in love over months, in a real city, they fight, they argue, and he's the first Prince with a child. It's the ultimate fairy tale because Giselle and Robert remind us that sometimes, love happens where you least expect it. She was a fairy tale character dreaming of a prince, and he was a cranky, cynical, workaholic single father who worked in New York City. this movie just, . The feels. the feels are real.
I love this movie, but this scene is so loverly and relaxing because of slow dancing. I wore this same type of dress at the prom, but mine was navy blue with sparkles. I did this type of dance before long ago. Good memories.
But what's interesting - even though the clip doesn't continue long enough to show it, you realise how sweet natured Edward is because when Robert kisses Giselle, to revive her, you can that Edward just wants a happy ending even if he isn't part of it.
@BrittanyER86 Same here his eyes are glued at Giselle's and his all nervous at first(you can see by his facial expressions) and all of a sudden he sings to her. I have seen this scene a billion times and I LOVE IT SO MUCH >3.
Omg this youtube posted 2008? I'm watching this right now in 2021.... I think I have watched this movie maybe 2016 because I was born in... 2009... I love this movie so much...very romantic melt my heart..
GOD I love this flick. I must have seen it 20 times and this a billion times(this scene). I love how Robert aka Patrick Dempsey is like in another world as his eyes don't blink(LOL like me whenever im watching this or Tangled) and she's like gobsmacked when he sings to her, which means that he loves her. Ahw. Amy Adams was so beautiful in this scene(and I am not gay I am straight).
I LOVE this scene of the movie!!!, the only thing that that pisses me off is that the only time it was okay for her to wear medieval-like clothes she wears a modern dress -_- I'm like.... really now !!??
It was used as a juxtaposition. At the beginning of the film, Giselle wears a ridiculously huge poufball meringue Disney princess dress with massive hair, tiara and sparkly make-up, whilst everyone else wears regular street clothes, so she stands out. Now here towards the end of the film, everyone else is wearing huge fancy old-fashioned costumes and Giselle is the one wearing modern clothing, so she stands out. You see?
Oh my god, I feel the same! Like when they go shopping I'm like "Ooh! Ooh! I can't WAIT to see the awesome ball gown she picks!" and she comes out in a modern purple dress -_- Granted it's pretty, but STILL! Come ON!
I think that its meant to be a metaphor for her transition into reality, wearing not so over the top clothing, having her hair just normal etc. thats what i think anyway! :)
I love the expression on Dempsey's face when your one cutted in priceless. Its like he says oi you im dancing with Giselle excuse me god I want us to break up.
Then she ends up dumping him and taking the little girl with her. And then he tries to take over the world with Megatron and the decepticons and kidnapping a girl. Only to get killed by her boyfriend and the auto bots winning. Again....
I love Giselle and Robert they are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo in love with each other they have to get married, have a famiy, do sex, go on a honeymoon and live happily ever after
That's actually the point. They made the character wear this dress to show that she has changed over the course of the movie AND they wanted her to stand out and look different.
The plum dress was my favorite. She looks so gorgeous in such a simple dress. It shows her maturity that she doesn’t need anything fancy to look beautiful just like she doesn’t need a prince to be happy.
she's wearing something of HIS world and he's wearing something of HER world. they've become a part of each other's world. there is so much meaning in this scene.

Ironic that you keep saying "part of their world" and Jodi Benson is in this movie 🤣
Oooo o ooooo o

the contrast too. see how Giselle was in modern ball clothes and everyone's in old ball clothing
I think that the one of the best things about this scene was the wardrobe choice. In the beginning McDreamy was in a suit and trenchcoat. Agreed....
I hadn't even thought of that oh my gosh
I know I’m late but I thought did anyone notice that he is wearing the same outfit as the manikin she created in the first part of the movie
Ok então vou fazer o
It's like each outfit in the modern world slowly foreshadows her future. The outfit she wore to the ball was the icing on the cake.
This is one of my FAVOURITE scenes in the movie. And the song is absoulutely BEAUTIFUL. Enchanted will always be one of my favourite movies.
always get goosebumps the second he starts singing in her ear
I know right! God i love him! why cant he be my prince charming :(
Fr I get butterflies 😭
People!! Watch the beginning, when she's creating the statue of the man she danced with in her dream, he's dressed looking like...guess who, Robert in this scene :D Disney you sneaky mice!
No way!!!!!
OMG! I've never noticed that before and in the beginning she said that in her dream they were dancing. This must have been what her dream was!
Alyssa Luna I've noticed that a while ago! That is so cool!
Alyssa Luna And I think it foreshadow the poison apple cure.

Kimberly Hartley English teachers be like-
VERY powerful and true!!!!!
That's so true
Watching this all I can think is how pissed Robert's going to be when he sees his credit card bill...
Lol, true XD
I doubt it, I'm pretty sure he's forgiven her for it.
Yup
Robert: GISELLE YOU SPEND 300DOLLARS ON CLOTHES IN FOREVER21.
Giselle: Oh I'm sorry Robert,I'll pay it all back.
Robert: Stop doing that thing with your eyes its driving me nuts that's why I love you.

3:15 i like how everyone was still, then twirled together like a jewelry box, which focused the eyes to the couple in the middle, nice touch.
Prince Edward is the Sweetest. He notices When Gesille is Sad and being Happy For Her even if that Happines does not Include Him Anymore.
When you cry because Nancy ruined the moment but realize that if you were in her position, you would too.
Right! I love how they made you feel for her too because it's a understandable position.
I have seen this movie a TRILLION times and I NEVER realised he sang out loud. I thought he just mouthed the words. HE HAS A GREAT VOICE
I love how this movie honors most of Disney`s movies, people think it`s making fun of the other Disney movies but it isn't it`s honoring them ^ ^
It's a little bit of both really - it makes fun of those Disney movies, but it does it in a playful and respectful manner. However it has a genuine reverence for the source material.
Brilliant choreography that reflects the musical arrangement and the scene unfolding.
That moment when he sang. So much feels!
I love the way he sings after he hears the line "almost believing this one's not pretend" :')
Brings back my memory of my girlfriend.Died a month ago.We danced just like this. That was the best momment in my entire life.
I'm so sorry, I now i´m 12 years later but still:) hope you´re happy
I'm so sorry for your loss. Hope remembering brings you some happinesses
13 years later, I hope your feeling at peace now🤍🕊
When he starts singing to her.. I about cry every time..
You can actually feel and see her heart breaking 3:13......
Gizelles so sad cause she knows she's in love with him...
This my favourite part in the whole movie they fell in love with each other without realising it I’m glad that it will come a second movie soon with them
I cried when he started singing :(
When he danced back with his fiance and THAT sparkle look dimmed I almost cry for her
Roll on the sequel already. I loved the first one. I will definetly watch this film very soon.
So what did you think of it?
@@wind_scratch8387 It was good but the original is better
I’m so in love with this song it’s so beautiful it really was a perfect match with them and this movie in so many ways
Anyone else get the feels so bad when he starts singing like I can't stand it
brianna williams I think the feels hit hard because earlier in the film he told Giselle that he doesn't sing.. and then when he sings to her, it really hits home /.\

When they play this song at world of color I feel like crying
I did cry
When they stop dancing you can see that Robert has some MAJOR depression and doesn't feel the same way dancing with Nancy then Giselle!
I love this movie, but this scene is so loverly and relaxing because of slow dancing. I wore this same type of dress at the prom, but mine was navy blue with sparkles. I did this type of dance before long ago. Good memories.
Prince Edward was very dissapointed too (3:00) cause he noticed quickly what was happening
But what's interesting - even though the clip doesn't continue long enough to show it, you realise how sweet natured Edward is because when Robert kisses Giselle, to revive her, you can that Edward just wants a happy ending even if he isn't part of it.
Anyone else realize the Outfit Robert is wearing ti the same one as Beast when they have the ballroom scene in Beauty and the Beast.
One of my most favourite films of all time. Classic!!
Gasp!!! Robert matches gizelle's home made prince from the first scene!!! So cute!
The moment when she turned back because her heart tells so
Amy Adams is so beautiful in this movie
Jon Mclaughlin. He has such a ridiculously good voice and all of his songs have great lyrics:) He's my favorite singer
I just realized, in the beginning she sings out loud to him, Now he's singing out loud to her that the end😭
The most beautiful scene in the whole movie. Made me swoon xx
This is such an amazing movie. I love this scene.

Just Let It Go Indina, he obviously likes someone else!
If there's a good, nearly-four minute "Robert and Nancy" clip, a good song for that would be Carole King's "It's Too late," from her *Tapestry* album.

Dr. Shepherd you have patients to get to in the OR you can't be dancing right now
Anyone find it ironic that Giselle is the only one not dressed properly for the ball? No princesses dress so simple yet elegant ;P
Dangit. This scene is so heartbreaking. I hated the fact that Robert's still committed to Idina's character, huhuhuhu. I feel like crying.
