During my wedding I want to dance with this
If you don’t mind me asking, how long did it take to learn the choreography. This is my first dance song as well and my wedding is in 3 months !
we practiced about once a month(an hour) leading up to the wedding to make sure we somewhat remembered the moves. The wedding was postponed twice cause of covid. But about 2 weeks till the big day, we would try to practice every day at least for an hour. on weekends we would try for one practice in the morning and evening. Mostly we tried to have fun. If we made a mistake, we would try to recover and make up a dance move that fit until we got back to the intended choreography during the practice.
@@kidadarling Did it feel weird doing a choreographed first dance? More concerned about the steps vs the moment?
@@candysmith8724 it did not feel weird. we practiced so much that by the time the wedding day came, it felt more like we were dancing to like cha-cha slide. we knew a move was coming but we kind of did our own thing. the only reason we really practiced was to become in sync with each other dance moves.

I never comment on videos, but this is the song I want on my wedding day. how long did it take to learn and how did you learn?
It didn't take long. tho we did have a long time to practice cause the wedding got delayed by covid for a year. but we practice monthly and changed a lot of moves through the months to make dancing more comfortable. but two weeks before we started practicing once or twice daily for an hour. We learned by watching waltz dance tutorials on youtube. taking ideas from moves we liked.

This is a great song and it’s really sweet people play this at weddings but McLaughlin himself has said it’s actually not a song about a happy ending. It’s not, in the end, a happy song. It is a song about unrequited love. In the lyric at the end he says “so close, but still so far.”. Not trying to ruin it for anyone! Like I said it’s a sweet thought and if people enjoy it then that’s what matters. But this is a sad song about unrequited love.
Yes I know. But our wedding theme was based on the movie. Which is why this song was chosen. We met around the time the movie released. So it had a special different meaning to us.

Hey, question for you, FOlks, since this is about a wedding reception. At my brother's reception, in the hall, the banquets manager was giving this worker a hard time. She was mad at him for signing up for a shift by himself, claiming he couldn't do that and that he needed someone to guide him (I'm guessing he has a learning disability). Then he said to her, "You know, I'm beginning to see why you work so many wedding receptions." What's the roast? I don't get it.
