    So... $1,139.40 parts, plus 64hrs labor (at rates of $90-100?), plus whatever work is left = $7,500-8k. I don't remember what you paid for this car, but if it's $10k total, that sounds fair for a fully sorted c900t, wouldn't you say? The feeling you get from DIY, then driving and owning it forever = priceless!😎

    My black 3 door 1985 Aero has taken 2 years and so much money for a nut and bolt restoration that I could never admit the amount that has been spent.

    I’m not sure $ are the only way/ best way to assess this transformation. Bang for buck - hours of goodness. Shared with friends. & a huge sense of achievement. There’s something cathartic in tactile projects. Even if it took hours to work out the pedals.
    You’re just getting started Jacob. 🤘🤘👏👏💪💪

    Superb. Well worth the time, effort and $money. You ALL, including us, learnt so much from doing this. I would do this as a personal finessed project. Therefore it would take a lot more of EVERYTHING! Well done Guys 😍

    Looks great! saab 900 turbo was the first saab i ever drove, my then father in law had an -89 with an APC tune so it made around 180 hp, this was back in 2014. After that i was hooked and today i got two 9-5 aeros-04, a sedan and a estate wagon. Im from sweden so they are easy to get by. I also use to have a 9-3-1999 200 hp which i put a stage 1 tune on. My aeros of today got stage 1 tune and stage 3 ethanol tune. The one saab i would like to own just for fun would probably be a 900 turbo, its a different driving experience!

    Phoenix: I don't think people understand how hot it can be in Phoenix. Working on this project in a garage in the summer can be dreadful. Props to you and your team for this job. Remember to always keep hydrated the day before if going out into the summer sun. It looks great. 🙌🙌🙌

    😂 my older brother swapped one of these to manual during summer after his Junior Year in Highschool. He did it in like 3 days but he has bout two year experience working on the 81’ Model that was handed down to him by our parents.

    You really killed it with the swap. Great job and learning experience. You still have an SPG body kit to add too, right? Love the SAAB content but skip the Audi and other TBH.

    Sounds like you really had a bargain in the junk yard🤣. So what’s next besides the interior bits and pieces? There is some paint and bodywork to do. I think you now have a great foundation to proceed😉

    Also, if you have a parts car it kinda sucks...because you have to take the time to remove all the parts to do the swap...it means you are doing twice the work and not getting paid for it.

    not bad, if i count the new turbo and my new gearbox, i would say i spend around 8500€ on my saab 900. by the way, i could need some tech-advice.
    the problem is, that my 900 has ABS, therefore it also has the little fuse/relais box next to steering fluid reservior. but the pump relais is, even without the key, is still ON and it drains my battery voltage over time when my saab is standind still. looking at the wiring plans, it says that the power comes from connection 54 from the selector switch for the starter keys. so does anyone know what i should do there?

      To be honest Saab automatics from this era were pretty bad. An old three speed design that came from the 1960's.

    • @irontoolgoddess
      @irontoolgoddess 2 роки тому

      @@RADThird1 I drive like an old man (probably because I am !) so the auto has been easy and trouble-free (yikes, have I just jinxed it 😂) Apologies I'm not disagreeing with you. My '93 900 is the first auto I have ever owned in my 50+ years of driving. To my way of thinking it fits the style and era, it comes from. But ... I'm seriously looking at a manual sedan at the moment, to add to the driveway.

      Manuals are almost an anti-theft device anymore! At least that’s what a friend T-shirt says about manuals and millennials!
