    I got the GC Quad for everyone of the reasons you just spelled out. The best reason for getting a Launch Monitor is because of experimentation. As you're practicing whether you're using a LM or not you wonder, "well what if I hinge, how far does the ball go at 9 o'clock vs 10 o'clock?". There are all sorts of swing thoughts and techniques you'd like to verify or eliminate which can be confirmed with the numbers coming from the LM.
    If you get a LM without the club data you can put an "impact recorder" on the face of your club to find out where your ball is striking the face. I believe this is the most important part of an LM's data which is why I got the GC Quad. After getting the GC Quad I'm of the mindset that believes that it doesn't matter which LM you get they all will give you some clean data that you can work with to improve your game.

    Sure GCquad is great. But let’s be real, a nice convertible is also great.

    When you use the GCQ on an outdoor range do you have to have WiFi in order to connect this to an iPad to visualize your shots?

    Does it normalize for range balls?
    I don’t understand why people are complaining about this video and the cost of this unit. GM clearly spoke to the cost and even spoke about less expensive (GC2) and quite viable options (financing).

    GReat video. Thank you. Do you know of any PGA professionals who will give online lessons using my GcQuad data? Thank you.

    Why not show the best cheapest launch monitor that gives you key information. We are not pro’s. The driving range I go to has Top tracer but the balls are the driving rage Srixon of which you see old mid and new balls mixed together.

    I don’t think I’ve got a spare £20000 + to hand. Nice idea but totally unrealistic for the average person.

    I've followed GM for decades but this is really disappointing. If the point of the vid is to promote the usefulness of 'launch monitors' why is there only one being discussed? and repeatedly mentioned using the full marketing name and model of it? Sell-out.

      GCQ along with Trackman are the industry standards. They use it because they have it. Some viewers are actually in the market for one of these. Of course there are a number of truly affordable launch monitors for almost anyone’s budget. I guess it’s like watching vids of luxury sports cars when you actually drive a 10 year old VW Polo. That being said, I’d like to see them compare the GCQ with the Rapsodo and Mevo+ for accuracy.

    Now if I only had 20.000€ at hand to get that sweet launch monitor... ;)
    You‘re not giving that away, are you?

      You don’t have to buy one (I have a gc2h); you can get a membership at a range that has them.

      Would love to see how you feel a Skytrak stands up against the GC quad.
      I am lucky enough to have a Skytrak at home and from what I can see the biggest downside is a lack of club data, would be interested in hearing your thoughts, perhaps do a back to back of the popular units??

      Andy Green how would I know? I don’t know your area. I’m not in U.K. Check with golf shops and things too. Sometimes you can work something out with the manager of the store to hit balls. Or, save up and buy one. I did and love it.

    With all due respect, this feels like an infomercial for ridiculously overpriced launch monitors. Yes, it is great to have access to these. It would also be great to get to drive a Rolls Royce, fly in private planes, and date Kate Beckinsale, but none of those things are going to happen for 99.99999999999% of us. You might as well have showed a video on the "8 ways having Butch Harmon watch every one of your golf shots can improve your game - and, at a low low price of $1,000 per hour, you too can understand your club gappings and spin rates, even though you don't have enough talent to actually reproduce that same swing tomorrow." This game already gets a bad enough rap for being a "rich man's sport" and Golf Monthly throwing this expensive crap at us just makes you look elitist. C'mon, you are better than that. If you really want to help, do a review on the launch monitors UNDER $500 and how THEY can help us. For all the multi-millionaires out there with repeatable swings, however, this is a great device.

      Who said you had to buy one? Do you go and complain on Rolex videos? If you don’t have the money, we ain’t talking to you to begin with. Besides, not all LMs are that high. I have a gc2 and it’s not very expensive. Get a good paying job and save money. Quit bitching about not having stuff and do something about it.

      You don’t have to be a millionaire to own one of these machines. Be a grown up, get a good paying job, and learn personal finances.

    Can do a lot of this just by using my rangefinder or watching my ball flight. Dont think the investment of 20000 correlates to how much I should be able to lower my handicap.

    • @Somefatdude
      @Somefatdude 5 років тому +1

      Not quite. No one is telling you to buy one. This is no different than someone telling you how nice a Ferrari is or something. If you’re not in the target audience, it’s not for you.
      However, there are other LMs much less expensive. I have a gc2 and it cost no where near that.

      @@Somefatdude I think Im allowed to watch what i want on youtube. Im a good golfer, Ive known my yardages for years. So to all the people who know think you have to have a expensive launch monitor to be a good player: Im saying buy a descent range finder instead and learn to understand your ball flights.

    • @Somefatdude
      @Somefatdude 5 років тому

      Mange Larsson first, I never said you shouldn’t watch the video. I said the product maybe wasn’t for you. You made the wrong assumption as it is very clear to what I was referring. Watch what you want, but do you go on a Rolex video and complain? If you aren’t committed to make the purchase and have the funds, they’re not really talking to you. Second, no one ever said you can’t be a good golfer. I know plenty of fantastic golfers who don’t even know what a LM is. You’re making straw man arguments. LMs are very beneficial and back up what you are feeling. It makes the process much easier and very enjoyable. They are pricey, but just like anything in life, buy it or not. It’s your money and your choice. Depending on a person’s financial situation and personal choices, some want them. If you don’t have a good job and make good money, then maybe don’t get one. Or, maybe save up for one instead of spending it on other things. For me, I really like my LM. I can work on my game, have fun with friends and my kids, and stay sharp year round. I’m hoping to go from high single digit to low or even scratch soon.

      @@Somefatdude I can afford them, but that wasnt the point, as I said, it will not have a 20000 pound effect on my golf. I would advice players like you to spend 1000-1500 of that money on a skilled coach, that will have a much bigger effect on your golf than a 20000 launch monitor. If you learn how to play, which I have, you dont have to worry about spin or descent angle, hit good golf shots using a good technique, and your experience and you will become a better golfer. Good Luck!
