    Are you just letting your arms drop from the top? At what point do you start to throw the clubhead out?

    • @kevinhwangjr
      @kevinhwangjr  Місяць тому +6

      I just let my arms drop and make sure that hands comes in and clubhead goes out towards the golf ball 👍🏼

    So, I've tried this as a drill. It made a massive change in how I hit the ball. This demands a soft grip on the handle and allows the head to do its job and gives the club that feel of weight without thinking about it.
    The filght path was startlingly on line and distances, dead aim, become almost second nature if you stop trying to over control.

      I tried actually playing with this as a very intentional swing. Totally different game experience. Presently only using it on a pitch and putt as I want to build up to longer distances without pushing. Literally, look at target, place clubbhead face perpendicular to line, look at target, commit to target, raise club, let gravity work, do not interfere, let hips turn when they want to, feel amazing ball contact, look up, and marvel atvthe shot no matter what, watch it land so close to your desired patch of grass. Great.
      Rinse and repeat.

    Excellent instruction, Kevin. Many thanks. How strong is your grip pressure?
    Thank you.

    Kevin - Excellent Videos. I have been struggling with the release for year, never quite understanding it until now BUT the phone drill escapes me: Bowing the left wrist the way you show with the phone is impossible with a club! Maybe if using a really, really weak grip which I don’t mind, but these days new instruction call for stronger and stronger grips. I need you to elaborate before I break my hand. 😢😊🎩

    Hi Kevin, please show ball speed, carry, launch angle and dynamic loft. What's the loft on the 7I you are using.
    Love the swing!

      Loft of 7 is key here. My 7 is 35° and I swing avg. Between 92 and 95 and I am not getting 196. However with my 31° 6 I am.

    Is it useful to forget about the ball and just complete the motion and hit the spot (in front of the ball), almost thoughtlessly like a hammer swing-and consequently the setup/ball position dictates the shape/outcome?

    Once you have the basic move down how do you increase club head speed without getting tense and actually slowing down or getting almost no gain even though huge added effort.

  • @padysrini9955
    @padysrini9955 Місяць тому +1

    He has a point. If you use a hammer against a nail, if you let gravity hit the nail, it is much more powerful than trying to muscle it yourself almost fighting against gravity.

      Best not to over think the golf swing 👍🏼

    • @tomsettles6873

      Not true. I was a carpenter and learned to drive a 16 penny nail (3.5") in all the way with 1 swing. I had to swing it crazy fast using my forearm muscles. Swinging loosely with only gravity would only drive it in 1 - 1.5" max. You have to use your arm & wrist muscles.

    • @kevinhwangjr
      @kevinhwangjr  Місяць тому

    I know you are doing the supenation move with the lead wrist from the last video but are you just letting gravity get the clubhead down with passive wrists?

    What’s the loft? 7 irons seem to range 10 degrees from set to set nowadays

  • @beniteztheconman
    @beniteztheconman Місяць тому +1

    You would win every tournament on the Pga tour...as the average 7 iron is 172 carry and 180 total. That is the average of the best players on the planet.

    • @kevinhwangjr
      @kevinhwangjr  Місяць тому +8

      Obviously that’s not the case lol I would argue that most guys on the PGA tour are hitting controlled 7 irons because they’re playing for big money. Also since when did hitting the ball far make you win tournaments? If that’s the case all the long drive guys would dominate on tour. Much more to professional golf than hitting the ball far and I would argue that almost every single PGA tour player can hit their 7 iron 200 yards if needed but on average it’s not 200 yards because they’re trying to score and make money not show off on UA-cam like me

  • @user-qo4iz5zd9g

    Average PGA tour player hitting 90-100 mph clubhead speed get distances of 170-200 yds. Your numbers on screen seem off. Or one commenter mentioned that you may be using a 5 iron.
