  • 2019 Pacifica - replace both batteries
    8/23/2024
This is a video showing how I removed and replaced both batteries.
This van was bought used a couple years ago and has 65,000 miles.
It looks like the batteries are the originals. (5yrs old)
We believe the small auxiliary battery failed shortly after purchase, and some car features were disabled, such as the stop/start function.
Then recently, the van wouldn’t start and displayed the “step on brake and push start button“ message. The brake pedal was impossible to depress. The shifter could not be moved from Park. Various other error messages started to display. Then, it was found that the battery voltage was very low (6-8v). Eventually, the van was able to be jump started and taken home to await new batteries.
The only tools needed were a 10mm socket, long extension, ratchet, and an E2 Torx socket (to transfer the studs on the small battery).
And a flat screw driver to pop 3 electrical connectors.
After the batteries were replaced, the van was easily started, and the charging voltage was verified at 14.3 volts, so the charging system appeared to be working.
While looking for the replacement batteries, I learned that for 2017-2020+ Pacifica, there were a couple different battery configurations.
If you have the stop/start system, there are two batteries; the AUX14 and the H6. The H6 is about 11.0” long.
If you don’t have the stop/start system, there is one battery; a larger H7 battery. The H7 is about 12.5” long.
So, make sure you check under your hood before ordering any batteries.
The best values were online. We decided to wait a few days and get the batteries delivered from Amazon and Ebay. Delivery was about 4 days.
The small battery is a Delco AGM AUX14-200 from Amazon for $108 delivered:
    www.amazon.com...
The large battery is a Weize AGM H6 or 48 from Ebay (1autodepot) for $138 delivered:
    www.ebay.com/i...
There is no core charge. The batteries will be recycled thru O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.
Both batteries have a 3yr warranty. Not sure how good that is nor how to redeem.

So far so good. It's a new brand name for me. But the price was right.
