Amazing work dude. I’m sure your family and other older parishioners were proud to see the man they once knew as a boy in that church create something of beauty and lasting value for it.
Wow, what a great project! This would be a great addition to our church's new building. Will bookmark this one to possibly build in the future!
Best part of the video was at 7:41 where you start planing away, revealing the patterns in the wood. Excellently done, amazing shot.
Thanks so much Paul!
Man is a great wood worker, PERIOD! Very nice to make for the church, the most important place there is.
Wow, the precision in those joints and chamfers. No hiding anything less than perfection in something that simple.
No there wasnt much room for error thats for sure haha
Beautiful craftsmanship, beautiful testimony, beautiful product and beautiful piece of wood!
Great work, Chris! That mitered bridle joint is sweet. I’m sure the church loves it.
Thanks bud, the church was really happy. Its was super special to be able to do this.
When we show love like the love that was shown to us, the finished product is nothing less than awe striking.
Really clear an crisp joinery. Great.
Thanks Bud, yea It went together nicely haha
Nicely done. Loved the chamfers, but your grin when the leds were lit was priceless.
Haha, yea I played with those LEDs for like an hour

Thanks so much Tim. I didnt know I was the pick of the week! That is awesome!!!
I cant say enough how simple but yet how complex this piece is. You do amazing work and this piece came out great. I loved how you chamfered the joints to make them stand out
Thank you! Yea I really like that little chamfering technique. It really give it a nice subtle touch.
Nice job!! I was an electrician for a while, and when we used LED’s around objects like yours, super glue or a clear epoxy he works great too
Nicely done! The LED’s add a really nice touch!

Wow Chris love the project. The video was put together really well. You’re a talented man on the tools and behind the lens.
Thanks Riaan! Im trying to get a little better each time. I think the music was still a little loud but that is something to work on for next time. :)
As a pastor and woodworker...this is my dream!
Looks like you have a new project lined up haha
Nice project! Clean lines and the mitered bridle joint was a great choice. Well done. God bless!
Those joints are perfect! Great project!
Thanks Bob, I was relieved that there wasnt any gaps. Chasing gaps on anything mitered is a nightmare haha
Just to let you know, I find your channel inspiring! A single car garage and some good quality tools - you make it happen man. Kudos.
Thats great to hear and definitely one of my goals with these videos...to inspire people. Yes its tight in there, but making it work haha
Awesome work once again, Chris! It's great to see how you always bring hand tools into your work. Also nice to see how smooth and easy good sharp edged planes and chisels glide through white oak. Excellent video. Keep them coming! Great timing just before Easter!
Thanks Alan. Its definitely a joy working with well sharpened tools. Yes, I was trying to get this done in time for Easter

Beautiful work. Love the silence and hearing the sound of tools.
Yea I try to keep the music subtle (it was still a little loud on this video) and I also like to leave some silent gaps in there too.
Really cool project. Of course, I'm a sucker for anything with LEDs :)
LEDs are the best! haha
Beautiful
Nice job, bud - glad to see you got a new TS. That old one was screaming!

Nice work! I think I finally understand what a router plane is for! The way you used it made sense. Great finishing on the whole thing.
I am glad I was able to shine some light on it. Its a great tool, you should get one
Very cool, took a break from watching your Hand plane restoration video (had to locate the other videos related to it) this came up as I was scrolling through, glad I took the time to watch this video, well done.
Awesome craftsmanship lovely to watch that joint come together. The bevelling on the joint really makes it pop, brilliant accent.
Really dig Utz what a beautifull animal, hope you have trained him to tidy the shop for you. Cheers from Port Elizabeth South Africa.
Wow Port Elizabeth!? I think its so cool that my videos are able to reach people all over the world. I would LOVE to visit S. Africa someday! Thank you for the kind words, and I am definitely going to have to train Utz to do that now haha
I always enjoy your videos. You’re a good teacher of your craft. Thanks.

Incredible work as always!
Thanks Jake!
I saw this style of cross in a church recently and, like every other wooden object I see now, I couldn't stop wondering how to make it. Now I know! Thanks
It really fun looking at wooden furniture and objects and figuring out how they were made. Its also cool because you can make the same thing several different ways and with several differect techniques.
Impressive skills! 👌
Thanks Isaac
Wow, amazing!
Beautiful work. You are truly a craftsman.
Thanks Darin. I appreciate the kind words
Слежу за твоими работами, молодец, стараешься👍

Your video work as well as your woodworking is phenomenal!
Thanks so much steven!
Great video, awsome cross sir!!
Nice work.
Suggestion: a video on how you made that router plane.
This looks amazing.. awesome job brotha!!
I give you credit. I've been a carpenter my whole adult life and I can't even come close to that kinda precision. Just had to toss my latest project in the trash cause I somehow can't hand cut half lap corners without so much slip they won't glue up
Congratulations
Beautiful work!
Thanks Chris!
Thats sick!!
As a little boy I marveled at the beautifully crafted cross that was the focal point in the church. I always wondered who made it, and did God touch their hearts such that they made it perfectly beautiful. Now some small child can marvel at the beautiful symbol of Gods love for us at your church. Beautiful job.
Thank you so much for this comment Scott! That is really cool and I do hope our little church is around in another 100 years and people enjoy the cross the whole time. Its very special to be able to build something like this for the church that helped raise me.
There quarter sawn white oak was the perfect choice. These color changing lights are a little distracting I think., specially during worship. Your work is second to none kid. Well done.
I was seriously just talking to the pastor about doing something like this for the kids area. They currently have a ~7' tall cross on a stand made from 4x4s that gets knocked over all the time.
Oh no, you dont want that falling over and hitting someone haha
I really like the scale of this. Do you remember how tall / wide it was?
