I appreciate your ending. I think it was transparent because age and stage of life is a very important factor. I am from Arlington, VA. And and you know Arlington is small so I also know a lot about Fairfax. I, probably with bias, thinks Arlington wins. The diversity in Arlington county and in the schools is unmatched compared to Fairfax. And not just in race but economic status, which I think brings character and depth to our schools. Also, Fairfax is so big that people in Falls Church and going down route 7. Do most of there shopping, eating, and outdoors in Arlington. But I do agree Arlington is expensive which makes me sad because it drives out younger diverse buyers specifically. In my opinion if you are a young person of color or a young couple. Buy in Arlington. It has this "bougie" name that at its core it's not. And it needs people if color to buy into it
Hi Veronica, Thanks of the kind words. Our goal is to present a realistic picture about the real estate market in Northern Virginia. No fluff, just the facts. Since home price appreciation outpace wage growth, we're going to start seeing the average age of Arlington residents increase as time goes on. Amazon's headquarter may curve this trend but not by much since young people tend to like newer homes. We can also anticipate diversity to continue to decline as the overall market increases. Unfortunately, this is the trend in most high cost of living areas. We plan on moving to Arlington or DC Wharf once our youngest son graduates from high school in 8 years to be closer to the amenities we use on a regularly basis. Unlike some of our neighbors, we go to DC all the time (pre-pandemic) and plan on increasing our trips to the city as the kids get older. The city attractions are one of the reasons why we can see ourselves retiring in this area. Thanks for your input. I hope you subscribe to the channel and continue to provide us with feedback. Have a great start to your new year! Onward, AW
