@@somethingforsenro yes, animals are one of the renewable sources of food, aside from fishing. Although on interloper, the respawn times get longer and longer, making animals more scarce as time goes by.
Yeah bear respawn on interloper is like 20-50 days depending on how late in the game you are. Animals respawn faster in like the first month but take longer as time goes on
I think its possible, REALLY late game, for SOME animals to stop repawning, luckily the dogs will always respawn, and so too will bears, "not so sure about moose"
I love that Lime has embraced the beachcombing lifestyle. Even on Loper, there's so much good stuff. The fish you find are heavy and often ruined, but remember that cooking raw meat automatically raises its condition by 50 percent. Even if you don't eat the fish, it's free cooking XP and lamp oil.
Glad to see another Long Dark video from Lime. Part of me wonders if he knows that he can tear curtains, blankets, and rubs into fabric if he needs it, though. 🤔
In the story mode, episode 3, the priest said that whoever named the place Plesant valley had a dark sense of humour. (I belive it has some weather modifiers so that it has more chances for blizzards)
Doing good so far, I want to clear up how rabbits and snares work for you though. Rabbit spawn areas are called groves they have 2X the rabbits you can see 1/2 the rabbits can be hunted by stone/arrow the other 1/2 can only be snared and you can't see them until they are snared. The two halves do not affect each other so don't avoid stoning rabbits because you are using snares too.
So, this is just something that i think i'd like to see more of on your channel. Cdda, love your content, and cataclysm is probably one of my favorite games of all time, and i really like watching your videos so i would really like to see more content on cdda
I don’t know if this info is useful to you but ruined raw meat is still good, when you cook it the condition goes up by 50%. Also you can eat a single predator steak and wait for the 1% parasite risk to go away, and you’ll never get parasites. Its all about farming every last calorie homie so happy hunting
Love to see the video (even if im viewing it 6 days late 😢). I love the base location of jackrabbit Island. Great view of the ocean, and who knows what could wash up on those shores? 😉
Hello Mr. Lime. I was thinking that you'd do well in a Fallout FROST playthrough, and with the Fallout hype right now it could be a good way to hop on the algorithm, and its good entertainment for us too. Frost is a mod for FO4. Its an open world sandbox set during the nuclear fallout following the war. I think like 2080 or so? Anyway if you enjoy Stalker Gamma, and Metro series you'll live FROST. There's also a few unmarked quests.
in loper there's so little food available (esp before getting a bow) that it doesn't make sense to maintain hunger during the day early game. also he doesn't really need the well fed carrying capacity yet
This place really does seem more hospitable than before, nice! Once we learn the habits of the local predators, be a bit easier to maneuver around. Perhaps killing a wolf could be a series goal? :D
If you stay inside for too long, the game gives you "Cabin Fever", which makes it quite hard to rest inside at all. By building the shelter, he is able to avoid freezing, while also sleeping through the night and reading skill books, without the risk of getting said status effect.

not eating during the day is actually optimal in early game (particularly loper, cause food's too scarce to easily maintain well fed until you've gotten a bow). I watch a streamer who is almost always on ~20% health and watching her is so much more stressful 😭
@@somethingforsenro I'm used to the food thing, so it's gotten to the point where when I tried to teach a friend to play and he was getting really stressed about the needs being low and then would eat the really good slower degrading foods (crackers, maple syrup) (when he didn't need to!!) *that* started stressing me out 😂😭
Idk, this feels like your kinda cheating. I mean its a survival game but you dont need to worry about food. You just eat before you sleep. You can just starve yourself the entire day with no penalty it seems. Maybe just bad game mechanics, but you should at least play it like you need to eat 3 times a day espescially if your running around carrying heavy weight.
The gas station is one of my favorite locations mainly for the aesthetics but be warned, wolves and especially a bear tend to roam around here often.
hypothetically, if lime were to kill the bear… would it respawn?

why you hate eating in this game? :P
Because it's meta to only eat before sleeping.
crazy
If you're well fed you get a 5kg carry capacity bonus, dunno why you're hoarding food
Because it's difficult to sustain well fed in loper until you get a bow (and he doesn't really need the extra capacity yet)- so no reason to stay fed

Blame the game, not the player. Long Dark was coded like this. Plus this is the hardest difficulty possible, not a roleplaying series.
