I've watched several videos about this and this is the first one I've seen where the corners between the side and top rails were addressed. Everyone else just cuts them square and leaves a huge gap in the frame.

Thanks! You're right, this has been a complete gut and renovation. We still have a lot to do (I'll post most of the projects as we continue - I should be starting bathroom finish work soon) and I will definitely do a full walk-through once its completely finished.

Its so cool, but definitely a different animal to work on a full stone home. So much extra work and planning. But cosmetically, its very cool from the outside. This street has several of these houses made with this stone.

You mentioned if the hole was bored already that your hand hitting the added pueve to be a problem. I think you dont have a choice. 99.8 % of locksets havw a 2 3/8 backset. Its not like yiu could go to a 2 3/4 backset. . So yoyr lever idea is te best fix
